"Another Easy Flip... but now in HD!", I've previously owned the Flip Ultra and the standard def Flip Mino camcorders, and this is the best version yet. Slim body, better access to the flip up USB port, great battery life, VERY easy to use interface and design... and now in HD! The camera shoots in 720p, nice and clear, looks great on YouTube and the like. My technology-scared/scarred 60-year-old father even bought one when he saw how easy they were to use.

My only complaint is the lack of manual focus controls. The auto-focus is well done and handles most situations with acceptable clarity, but detail shots can still be blurry.

Overall, another winner from Flip!

"Software a problem for 64-bit operating systems.", Although the Flip Mino HD camcorder seemed to work fine, the software would not install on my computer, which has a 64-bit operating system. Flip's online support stated as follows: "Because the Flip Video Program has been designed to work on the 32-bit systems, we cannot guarantee full functionality if used on a 64-bit system. At this time, we do not have information regarding the development of an application for the 64-bit systems." Without functioning software, the Flip Mino HD is useless, and I have returned it. A product that just came out a couple of months ago should be compatible with a computer that's only about six months old, but the Mino HD is not. Hopefully I'll have better luck with the Creative Vado HD.

"Nice camera", The Flip Mino HD has exceeded my expectations. It does what they say it will do without any hitches. The video quality and even the sound are great for any $200 camera. When you consider that it is roughly the size of the old iPod Mini, the quality is almost unbelievable. Highly recommended ++

"great little gadget; a few minor tweaks could make it even better", Got this as a Christmas gift, and I have to say, it's a pretty nifty little device. It does exactly what it was intended to do, which is capture videos spur-of-the-moment -- it's very portable (small and lightweight), and starts up very quickly, and is very easy to use.

If you're looking for something that can capture more video, like on a roadtrip or vacation, then this really isn't the tool for that, given that it maxes out at 60 minutes, but like I said, for what it's intended to do, it is aces.

Some things that could be improved on though:

- Picture seems a bit zoomed in by default, so you have to be a fair distance back to capture subjects in the frame.

- Would be good to have an option to lower shooting resolution, as the default resolution does tend to produce some pretty large video files. I just recompress on my PC after downloading, but maybe that could be a function, if not on the Flip itself, then maybe of the FlipShare software.

- USB arm is not the most versatile -- my ThinkPad has vertical USB slots, so that means I can only plug the Flip on the right-hand side slot, which is usually where I plug my mouse. A USB extension cable in the box, and not sold as an accessory (Flip sells them, packs of three, different colors -- do you really need three USB cables, in different colors?) would be nice.

- I actually had a few problems with charging at first, using my own AC/USB adapter (Belkin) -- Flip stopped charging with the error message "Charging stopped, recorder is hot" (or something like that), and even my own USB cable, but it wouldn't charge completely. So I can only charge now using my laptop, and that works fine, and the battery does seem to last a while.

Still haven't fiddled around with the video editing software, nor tried connecting the camera to my TV (a non-HD TV), so I can't comment on those features yet, so I may update this review in the future once I get around to trying those out.

Oh, another plus -- it fits perfectly in my waterproof pouch, so I can bring it in the pool or to the beach. Great fun.

Overall, I love this toy.

"flip video", Bought this camara for Christmas and it works great.
A little shaky if you dont use the tripod but the videos are amazing.
Well worth the price.
Super easy to use and the program included is far better than the original flip camara, which I also have.

"Great product", Love it. Simple but with most of the features necessary. Editing is weak but small issue for the benefits.

"small, good price but not good quality", The camcorder is small and easy to use, the price is good. However, in the first few days, the camcorder freeze several times in the middle of taping. So every time, we have to turned of the camcorder to reset it, but the tapped stuff was gone. It was not in good quality at all so we had to returned the item.

"Shopped for Christmas", This was a present, so I was not able to try it, but asked daughter and she said it was perfect. I thought the price was very good and shipping was prompt.

"Great Little Gadget makes Video as Easy as Still Shots", I have a nice Canon Camcorder but this Flip is a hoot and is more fun to operate even with all its limitations. I sometimes use a monopod with the Flip HD to stabilized it and really get some great "amateur" videos. The zoom is extremely limited but is a huge improvement over the Flip Mino (I have both). Sound quality is just fine for a built-in mic and when the unit is connected to my big screen TV the videos are too much fun to watch. The video editing software is very limited so I use iMovie to do most of the editing.

For a senior adult, the Flip HD has made me hip and an instant hit. I can now post to YouTube without fear. This is a great grandpa tool that fits in your pocket.

"I like it....", I've had an Ultra and Mino. The Mino HD has much improved video, less jerky.....but indoors the video has much more noise. The video is sharper and plays back better if you can get over a little noise you'll love it. The FlipShare software is an improvement. I use SONIC DVD software to edit and burn. The DVDs look great, better than the video on my PC.
