"Awesome game!!!", At first I was skeptical of playing this game. I figured since MGS4 I better get some use out of my PS3. I bought this game and I couldn't put it down. This game is way better than the first one. It keeps you intrigued until the very end. The packaging is kind of lame though. It would've been cool if the thing came in a specialized tin or something. The contents were cool though so I'll give it that much. As for the weapons in the game...for the most part they are pretty much the same. There are a few minor additions but I didn't let that bother me. It was the game content that mattered. Loved it and would definitely recommend adding this game to your collection.

"Resistance 2 is a great game, collectors edition is ok", For a fun factor I would rate the game a 5, the single player campaign is fun, and the online (Co-op, competitive) keep the game a high replay value.

The collectors edition was just ok, for 20 dollars more it seems to lack bang for the buck. If you can pick it up for around the price of the regular version go ahead, but if not I would just skip it. I was expecting some type of short book, with more character background, but that was not the case.

"Resistance 2 - More of the Chimera", I enjoyed the first Resistance, and this one is a "bigger, better, and badder" version. It has a ton more content, the graphics are better, and it has a lot better single player campaign. It is actually very hard, too. If you like first person shooters, and have a PS3, this is definitely a good pick.

"Resistance 2 Collector's Edition", PLEASE READ BEFORE BUYING THIS GAME

I'm a huge fan of the first Resistance game as well as of the Halo series, but was extremely disappointed that there was NO CO-OP in the single-player campaign mode. I found this very misleading since the "CO-OP" mode is really just playing online multiplayer with up to eight players. The multiplayer is also way too hard to play with just two people and you need at least three to ensure there's a medic, soldier and special ops to keep providing ammo. The other thing I found annoying is that you can't continue the multiplayer online segment with the same players after a game, but are instead booted out into the lobby to find another game to join.

The other thing I found with the single player campaign is that even on casual I found myself quickly dying and having to learn through trial and error like a Tomb Raider game, which was quite annoying if you just want to get through the storyline, isn't that what hard is for? It's not like I'm at an arcade where they want you to keep feeding them coins... well, unless you buy the Collector's Edition.

TO THE POINT
If you like multiplayer online, then get it especially since PSN is free over Xbox LIVE. Just buy the standard edition, the collector's edition is not worth the extra $$.

But if you're looking for the same co-op single-player campaign as in the first Resistance or as in the entire Halo series, DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. Insomniac has decided to pull one of the easiest features, 2-player split screen, from players who just want to enjoy the single-player campaign with a friend, even if it makes no sense. After all, Halo did it and I believe that they sold quite a few copies in that franchise. - SA

"Join the Resistance. You will not regret it.", Resistance 2 has a great campaign mode that keeps you going by keeping the missions high paced and over the top action. Tons of new weapons and locations. Extremely interesting boss battles. Better than any other first person shooter. Graphics and sound is all top notch. The online and co-op are also great. You can play online with friends and also online with people in your home. Split screen co-op is a plus. This game has everything you might want when it comes to a great FPS game.

The extras. The CE version has a cool action figure and a high quality booklet that gives some of the back story to the games history. A great plus to any fan of the original.

"Resistance 2 is Addictive", I have been playing Resistance 2 since the day it was launched and let me tell you, it really has many great new features. I still love Resistance 1, and do miss some of the unique scenarious, but as to be expected with a sequel there are changes that are worth experiencing. I know I have. The 8 online co-op is awesome, and not to mention following the story from where Resistance 1 left off is just like re-living the experience once again. If you like First Person shooters and would like to have achievements to show to your friends, then you should try Resistance 2. There are 39 trophies, and over 35 Medals, and over 57 types of Ribbons to collect. It will keep you busy for a long time.

"great collector package", great collector bundle, r2 is as good as part 1, only cons i have for this is that i can't pack all them weapons with me during battles as of resistance 1, damm, if it's sci-fi already, why makes it realiistic that i could only handle 2 weapons at a time,, come on man!!

"fast pace shooter", this sequel was better than the first on many levels. The main thing that you will notice when playing this game is that it has a fast pace with enemies swarming over your position. The improved AI makes the enemies more skillful with better fighting tactics. On several occasions you have to think of a better way to deal with the enemies then simply shooting them down since they always outnumber you. The story of course delves deeper into what the Chimera are and their possible history with some intersting twists. There are few changes that the game made such as limiting you to only 2 weapons and the omission of a few weapons from the previous game but this makes it again a game where you have to think more of tactics than simply aim and shoot. The only complaint I have is that your fellow soldiers do not act consistently. For some situations they are there with you killing the enemies and then for some others they just stand around or do not even follow you into the next area until you clear it out. Overall I highly recommend this game.

"Good sequel ", The first Resistance was a killer launch title, and had it come out at the time the first Halo did it would've had a similar impact on console fps'ers in my opinion. Resistance 2 improves upon that game in just about every way. More action, a tighter, more focused campaign, excellent multiplayer modes, and some spectacular visuals. Sound has also been improved.
The couple areas where the game lacks are in visual consistency. The game has a much larger scope and scale to it compared to its predecessor, and maybe some blatant low res textures in the environment can be forgiven because of this. But they do stand out like a bit of an eye sore since the rest of the game looks so good. Cars are a good example, although this may be because they are destructible.
The other complaint is the story just doesn't seem as compelling as the first, and doesn't really pull the player in. It's kinda just there because it has to be. I suppose it helps move the game along faster but I liked the narration of the first, and the characters seemed more interesting as a result.

All in all if you liked the first at all or are looking for a good shooter on PS3 you really can't go wrong with this game. It's the best shooter on the system so far by far.
