"Really Fun!"
This game is great for Star Wars fans! It allows you to take the place of a variety of characters from the Clone Wars series and movie and battle with other characters. I really love this game!

"Very fun...for both kids & parents"
My son and I have spent everyday dueling against one another since he got it for Christmas. It is a very entertaining game. Offers tutorials, so you can learn how to master the different abilities. The game play follows the movie & series really closely...very exciting for my son who loves the series.

Recommended.

"Fun for adults too"
I did not purchase this product from Amazon, but I feel inclined to put my two cents on this game. This is a fun game for everyone. It is definitely not a real light saber duel where you can wield and swing. Being a Wii game, you are limited to the sensors between your controller and the sensor on your TV. Some of the reviews mentioned that you do not actually have the actual motion of swinging a lightsaber. I would have to disagree with that. I tried an upper swing and a jab; I tried left and right swings and all of them seem real to me. I even used combo swings and the characters respond to my actions. If you want to be a real Jedi Knight, you will need to actually wield a real sword. This game will give you none of that.

I haven't played the whole game, but after several duels in the story mode, the action of a duel in this game becomes repetitive. To prevent any injury to your wrist and shoulder, I suggest limit the game play to an hour.

"Wii game - Stars Wars Lightsaber Duels"
This is a great game, just like the commercials depicted. The talking during the saber duel scenes is cool, also the forces powers and moving objects are fantastic. This game could even be better with four player action.

"Love this game."
Bought this game for Christmas for my kids, they just love it. I even played it and had a lot of fun. It makes you work out, I was winded after playing, but loved it. Action and cool graphic.

What our customer's say!

"Great game", this game is a lot of fun. i am not a gamer, however, playing with my seven year old son and we both enjoyed it alot.

"Fun Game", Got this for my son and have payed it with him - lots of fun. Interesting to use the wii remote as a light saber.

"Kids love it ", My 8 year old has a great time with this game. Seems to work better with the controllers than with the light sabers.

"Disappointment", I was so disappointed in this game. It was the big 'WOW' gift for my 8year old who loves Star Wars. We bought this and the lightsabers. He played this game for about 5mins and said he was done. It wasn't very much fun for him, not to mention I was not fond of the slinging lightsabers. He also said the lightsabers are too heavy to play with so they are going back. At least i'll get some of my $$ back...

I read the reviews and noted that they weren't very good but was hoping for more since he loves Star Wars so much.

My advice: if you get the chance to rent it or borrow it, try that before wasting your $$$

"If you like the animated series you will like this", I've been a Star Wars fan for almost all of my life, and I must say this is one of the best "versus" Star Wars game out there, besides it's a good game for the whole family, and if you like the new animated series you will enjoy this game.

The graphics are great and some of the history is direct from the TV series. The dialogue is witty and funny, since it was made with almost the entire cast of the animated series. The cutscenes are either from the movie or the TV series.

The playability is very simple, but it really takes a while to master it.

My only dissapointment is the lack of such great characters like Yoda.

This game is more enjoyable if you play it with friends.

"Disappointing", The Wii and Star Wars seem like they could be made for each other. Just the idea of wielding the Wii-mote as a lightsaber is enough to send any gamer, Star Wars fan or not, into total happiness. Star Wars The Clone Wars: Lightsaber Duels appeared as if that dream could come true, but alas, it doesn't. The first thing you'll notice is that the game follows the art style of the CG-animated Clone Wars film and TV series, and the game manages to successfully capture the look and feel of both, and it looks good to boot. The battles however are sadly short lived, and while they appear to offer a good amount of fun when things start to get going, it won't take you long to realize that the controls are impercise. You don't wield the lightsaber so much as waggle it around, and this may not be so bad were it not for how impercise the controls end up being. This ends up overshadowing how shallow the gameplay really ends up being, as there isn't much strategy to really implement, which leads to some repetitiveness. Still, the arenas are large and well-designed, and the voice acting and dialogue are well done to boot. That aside though, the game still ends up being quite the disappointment. All in all, Star Wars The Clone Wars: Lightsaber Duels is a disappointing endeavor that is worth a look for Star Wars fans, but other than that, the game fails to deliver the goods.

"Generally Fun", Bought this for my 10 year old son. He likes Star Wars, but isn't a superfan. He and his friends had fun with the game. Easy to learn.

"Pointless Wiimote Waggling", It's Star Wars! It's Lightsabers! Controlled by the Wiimote!

Ever since the Wii's debut, countless fans have longed for this. Lightsaber fighting with a motion-sensitive control. With the debut of the Clone Wars film and animated series, The Clone Wars is a hot item for kids of all ages. This combination could have been perfect.

I rented this game from an online service the second it came out, with every intent of buying it shortly after. Two minutes into my first play I was horribly disappointed. I was dueling against my 5-year-old son, a Star Wars fanatic, and figured I'd keep playing for his sake, pretending to enjoy the game. Another minute into our duel he looked at me and said "This game is boring. Let's turn it off."

The controller scheme is simple. Too simple, really. They expect you to duel with a series of combos and blocks, but in no way does the action on screen correspond to what you're actually doing with the controller. Your best bet is to desperately flail and wave the controller every which way you can, in hopes of out-waggling your opponent. Sure, they innundate you with combos (such as left, right, down, down, up; or right, right, left, up, down), but the sensitivity rarely picks up the exact direction of your swing, and good luck remembering the schematics for the multitude of lengthy combinations.

This game could have been great. It might have been tons of fun. But in the end, what we have here is an overpriced, repetitive contest of remote control shaking.

"Not sure it is worth the $$.", My son had this game for 45 minutes and completed the story mode. He seemed very disappointed although there are more levels that will be more difficult. He does not seem to be as interested in it this morning and I have a feeling it will end up on a shelf soon or given to his cousin.

"A fun, if short-lived, experience that makes a good rental for Star Wars fans dying to weild a lightsaber on Wii", Positive:
+ gameplay is fun despite repetition
+ great graphics and sound effects
+ epic duel locations
+ wide range of difficulty settings
+ multiplayer is fun

Negative:
- bad story
- voice acting is a bit cheesy
- super short campaign and not much to do otherwise
- gameplay is pretty shallow

As a Star Wars fan, it's hard to look at a Wii remote and not see it as a lightsaber. It seems the controller was simply made for a Star Wars action game. So two years after Wii launches, we have two lightsaber swinging games, and the one based off the Clone Wars movie is totally centered around dueling. Star Wars fans will undoubtedly have a good time, but the only question is just how much time that will be.

Movie based games are supposed to make people want to see the movie if they haven't already, right? Well, Lightsaber Duels did a great job of making me NOT want to see the Clone Wars movie. I was informed of the entire story by a cheesy narrator who began by telling me Jabba's son was kidnapped, so the good guys go save him. He then told me about a bunch of other encounters with villainous lightsaber-wielding opponents, all of which I played through. Somehow Anakin has an apprentice (even though he's not a Jedi master), and that apprentice actually beats General Grevious and Asajj Ventress. Not to mention Anakin beats Count Dooku ALONE. Funny how that all works out, isn't it? It's so far-fetched and unrealistic (even in the world of Star Wars) that I simply can't get into it. Not to mention Ventress appears to get eaten alive by a giant monster in the first level, only to fight Obi-Wan in the next scenario.

The game's campaign has somewhere between 5 and 10 levels; beating it on youngling difficulty shouldn't take you more than a half hour (maybe even less). Thankfully there are three more difficulty settings, each getting increasingly harder. Finding the difficulty that will challenge you without frustrating you out of your mind shouldn't be too hard a task for anyone playing the game.

Outside of the game's disappointing campaign, there isn't really much else to do. You can do a random match (Quick Play) or a free-selecting battle; these are probably the two modes you'll spend the most time with. There's also a challenge mode, but they involve such objectives as `knocking your opponent off the arena 3 times' or `performing 3 parries.' This mode isn't really worth your time; it's more fun to just focus on free battling. If you have someone else handy to play with, the game is actually quite fun with another person to duel.

Lightsaber Duels contains just one gameplay element (predictably): lightsaber dueling. There is no in-between gameplay to get to the next battle; the story just unfolds for you in a cutscene between each fight. Thankfully this single element is fun, if a little repetitive. You swing the remote to swing your weapon (obviously) and you can swing left, right, up, down, or do a thrusting motion to do different attacks. There are many combos you can do with these, but memorizing them is a pain. Thankfully the loading screen shows you two of them for your character before you play so you can at least remember one for each battle. You can also use the Force with the nunchuk, there is a Force blast move as well as throwing objects and also force lightning for Count Dooku. Characters that can't use the force (Grevious and the Jedi killer droid) just have immensely powerful attacks instead. While the gameplay is pretty fun for a while, it's a little on the repetitive side with all the constant remote swinging.

While it may get a little dull swinging the remote around all the time, the gameplay is pretty fun for a while. Like I said before, though, it really won't last long. Fighting with a lighsaber is a pretty cool concept that doesn't work to 100% in execution, but it's still fun to do. Not to mention the duel locations are very cinematic, epic, and just plain cool. One stage has you fighting on a bridge where the short wall gets battered as you hit it and most stages have plenty of objects to throw at your opponent. Every stage also seems to have some action going on in the background too, which adds a lot to the overall effect.

The game is modeled very closely to the movie it is based on not only in its story but also in its visual style. The animation is nearly identical to the film, although the slight decrease in quality is obvious. The animation in the movie isn't very good to begin with (by film standards) but for a video game (especially one on the Wii) it isn't half bad. The fact that hair and clothes aren't free-moving parts of the characters is really quite strange, though. Overall the visual style is pretty sharp and looks quite nice in comparison to the film.

The Clone Wars movie, unfortunately, did not have John Williams as the composer for the music score, as is immediately recognizable by the painfully unexpected remix of the main theme that plays during the game's opening. The music is fine but nothing so spectacular as John Williams, it is a bit disappointing. The sound effects, though, are quite good as is the standard for Star Wars games. Lightsaber clashing and force effects are quite nice and are just like they are in the movies. There is a lot of voice acting done and the lines vary for every matchup between characters, but it's pretty cheesy and you hear the same lines over and over throughout the battles.

I feel sorry for the people who bought this game at full price (I rented it). It's not a horrible game or anything; it just has terrible value. There's so little to do I would almost feel ripped off if it cost even $30. Add somewhat repetitive gameplay to that and you have a game that's definitely not worth a purchase, but as a rental it's perfect for big Star Wars fans who have been waiting to use that remote as a lightsaber and people who actually liked the Clone Wars movie.
