"Boring and Not as Much fun as I had planned"
We had this on our Christmas list as a family gift this year. We received it from my inlaws and I'm disappointed to say that I wish I had known what a waste of money this game was.
My 14 year old son and I played it on Christmas. You can only play with 4 people at a time - not just two. The computer takes over the other two players. I would have preferred just the two of us playing.
The graphics are too fast and the board game continually moves as you're playing, which makes it hard to keep track. I prefer the real game board alot more.
I also hate the little Monopoly man and how he follows you around the game board with the same remarks over and over again.

My recommendations to Wii - do away with the little guy, keep the board still and let just humans play!

"Hours and hours of fun!!!!"
Purchased for my 12 year old son, now not only is he addicted but the rest of the family is to. It's sad when 14 grown adults are crowded around a big screen shouting and screaming for their favorite to win while the child of the family watches on in hysterics. Great family fun. Would recommend to all!

"Love playing Monopoly without the mess of the cards and money laying around"
It is very easy to play and lots of fun. It was well worth the money.

"It's Monopoly"
Great way of playing monopoly the only thing is that it's a 4 player game, it dosent matter how many humans are playing the rest will be computer players

"Very Slow Game Play"
I bought this game thinking that it could possibly replace the fun from the original board game. While some fun is still there, the game is very slow. So if you are into playing a quick game to settle a score, the Wii game is certainly not the way to do it.

What our customer's say!

"The board game without the hassle", I rented this recently and will likely purchase. As far as gameplay, I found it to be just like the board game without the hassle of keeping up with the money and all the pieces.

Some have complained about the constantly playing music. It did not bother me, but I see where it could be annoying for some. They could have at least come up with a couple different tunes. I just opted to turn the TV down to a low volume. I can also see where some folks complained about visibility on smaller TVs. I played this on a 42". Text was small but readable. It would likely be hard to see on small TVs, especially if your vision is not the best.

I played the traditional game, so I can't speak for the other gameplay options. In the end, I like Monopoly but always found it aggravating to keep up with everything. The Wii version eliminates all of that. If you like Monopoly, have a decent size TV, and can put up with the music (or turn the TV down), then you should like this game.

"horrible", Okay, first i want to point out that I'm a kid! And I played this game.
I couldn't see a damn thing on the board! It was a 2D board that was poorly drawn and gave me headaches to try to read the street names.
You have to unlock the mini-games, which is very stupid if you ask me! Monopoly doesn't even have mini games.
The computers cheat! The only way that cheating on this game is fun is when you're playing the board game with your friends or family and they cheat; atleast that way you can get a good laugh out of it!
The repetivness of this game is annoyingly irritating! The music is bad, BAD! And the repeating lines bore and annoy me.
All in all, don't waste your money on this game! Go through your closets and find the gameboard; sure, you'll have to set it up and put it away but it is worth it in the end.

"Wii Monopoly -- electronic gaming at its best", I love the Wii Monopoly game. I feel the classic board, the World Edition board, as well as the boards that are unlocked are awesome. I have unlocked the future board and the sweet board so far, and love both.

I was hoping to get this for Christmas, and I did. It is far more than I had expected. I love the multiple boards and Mister Monopoly vocally hosting each game.

If you're as into Wii games as I am, love Monopoly, or both, get your hands on this classic version before it's gone for good.

"Great for Monopoly Fans - with only a few drawbacks", Short version: Based on what some of the other reviewers have said, if you have a game system other than Wii you might want to explore their versions. But if you don't, then I'd say this is still a great game to get if you are a lover of Monopoly.

Long version: I have to agree with those who posted about some of the issues with the game. But still, overall our family absolutally loves it! Okay, at least 2 out of the 4 of us do - but the other two don't count because they don't care for Monopoly anway. Yes, I'd love to be able to skip through some of the graphics faster, have more control over some of the rules and a little more "pizzaz". But some of the graphics are bypassable by pressing B. And it's the players more than any "pizzaz" that really make the game - all the changing alliances and strategies. I will also admit to having what we call the "Ultimate Gaming TV" - a whopping 60 incher.

My son and I have been playing this game for the majority of every day since he got it for Xmas. He's obsessed with unlocking the different boards (There's not alot of them). I'm enjoying playing it without worrying about the board and pieces. No trouble stopping for the night! But I think what we enjoy the most is the ability to have the two of us play and then have the computer control the other two players. We spend alot of time figuring out how to trounce them.

"Worst Monopoly Ever", I am trading the game tomorrow and bougt it today. The time of my review says it all.

Read this reviews before You buy...

"it cheats", I just had to come in and give a review/my opinion. I was just playing it with my family-my 6 year old daughter and my 24 year old year old sister with her fiance. Although it can be fun for the adults, I was getting upset when the game cheated. Yes it cheated. We had 2 players with 2 game controlled characters rounding out the game. After one wii game player went bankrupt, it was down to the two humans and the Wii player. After awhile I realized that ever time the wii player owed my more money then what he had, somehow the game payed the player first all the time then paid me. It would never go bankrupt. I could not believe it. One of the human players had to go it would seem before it would. That took all the fun out of the game since it seemed that the game may never end. Unbelievable. I could overlook all the other annoying nuances but this was just too much. My 6 Y.O. got bored after awhile. I like it but not that much.

"not fun", We couldn't figure out how to play for just two players and it kept playing for four. It was not fun at all.

"Kids were bored after 10 minutes", My 8 year old quit halfway through the property buying stage. This game is boring and repetitive. The Wii version has too many items to click before the next person can take a turn. Since the money handling, game piece moving, and card reading are all automatic, there is nothing to do but click through the menus and roll the dice. My 13 year old made it to the house/hotel stage, but also got bored and decided to quit. My kids don't want to play this game ever again.

"Computer cheats, don't waste your money", I would give it a -10 if I could. Rented this game from the video store and was glad I didn't waste my money on buying it. The computer players cheat and it's damn near impossible to win (with the computer on easy!!). This game has taken the fun out of playing Monopoly. I would recommend you not waste your money and stick with the old fashioned board game.

"Original Xbox is better! board game is better!", Have played and enjoyed the old xbox version for quite some time and the Wii version looked interesting. What a waste of time!
First: Takes longer to play the before
Second: Doesn't have all the rule options as before. Old version could have USA or UK rules or a custom setup.
Third: Damn hard to read. Board is to small on screen and view options aren't options, just A option.
Fourth: Minigames have to get unlocked. At the slow rate play goes, might just take awhile that most of us don't have the time or patience for.
Fifth: Slow play! No way to speed up play, turn off commentary, quick setup of favorite rules options.
Sixth: Too much pointing with the wiimote, can't just hit a button to speed through the choices.
7th: Inflation?!!! Property prices have changed, penalty prices are up, and interest has been added to mortgages. I know in these troubled financial times things are tough all over, but do they have to be in Monopoly as well?
I know I said it a few times, but play is really cludgy and slow. Why have the wii version take more time than the board version or a previous xbox version? Seems like a perfectly good porting (xbox) was ignored and someone who had hardly any knowledge of the board game wrote this version.
