What our customer's say!
"rockband rocks!", rockband is even better then guitar hero because you can be the drummer, the singer,or the gutarist, plus it has awesome songs!I recomend this game for anyone who wants to have a blast!Gutar Hero fans, try this and you will definetely agree with me.
"Buy for Xbox 360 or Play Station instead.", Rock Band for Wii overall is a fun game, but if you also own one of the other consoles this game comes out on, I would recommend getting it for that system. It's not that the one for Wii isn't fun, but it doesn't include some things that the other console releases have. Here are some of the pros and cons.
PROS: *Rock Band has a great variety of songs *It has four instruments, allowing for the whole family to play. *It has a great variety of old and newer songs, so some older people might enjoy the selection. *The guitar is wireless, giving you more room to "rock" *The instruments are very durable *The guitar's strumming bar is smoother and makes much less noise than the Guitar Hero guitar.
CONS: *The game is very hard to calibrate with your TV, so the picture is usually very delayed which can be very annoying *The tour (campaign) mode is very dull, unlike the other console releases where you choose your venue and tour the world. *You cannot buy guitars, songs, characters, costumes, or anything else in this game. There is not even a Guitar Shop, nor do you earn money in Tour mode (unlike the Xbox 360 and Playstation versions). *You cannot change your guitars or characters, and you cannot change between different venues in any modes (unlike the Xbox 360 and Playstation versions). *The drum set is very loud and annoying, causing it to drown out the music (can be changed if you buy the drum dampers which apparently make the drums softer when you hit them). *You cannot download songs online, unlike the other releases.
Overall, Rock Band for Wii is recommended if you don't own an Xbox 360 or Playstation, but if you do, I would recommend not buying the Wii version.
"Rock Band is incredible, but on Wii I'd wait for Rock Band 2", I've spent hundreds, maybe thousands of hours playing Rock Band on Xbox 360. It's possibly the most fun and addictive video game ever made. However, I know of at least one person who, after playing with me on my Xbox, bought the Wii version and was bitterly disappointed. There's no character creation, no Band World Tour Mode, and no ability to download additional songs, which almost everyone agrees are among the very best parts of the game. Wii Rock Band 2 Special Edition is coming out within the next couple of months, and while none of us will really know for sure exactly what features it has until it's actually out, the developers have promised that it will be a much more full-featured game.
Downloadable songs at least will be available. It is unknown how this will work exactly, but at best you would be limited at any one time to what can fit on a 2GB SD card (the biggest size the Wii can handle). This is probably more than adequate for a lot of people, but if you end up really getting into it...my song collection on Xbox is starting to push 8GB and is going to continue to grow.
My primary recommendation is, if at all possible, to buy Rock Band or Rock Band 2 for the Xbox 360 or PS3. Not to start a console war (I have all three and they all have their pros and cons), but the Wii is just not powerful enough and doesn't have the necessary storage and online infrastructure to get the most out of this game.
But if that is just not an option, well, definitely better to have some Rock Band than no Rock Band at all. Again, though, in that case I do strongly recommend waiting for Wii Rock Band 2 Special Edition.
"Rock Band for the Wii -- In the Name of Rock and Roll", I love my Rock Band for my Wii. I landed it for my birthday this past summer. It was the only item I had on my wish list at the time. I'm 39 years old, and love this game.
This game really brings out the fun and functionality of the Wii. You can sing, play drums, bass guitar, lead guitar until your hearts content. I love the components of this set.
The drum set, featuring Rock Band drumsticks, is the coolest drumkit I have ever played. I set it up for the first time on the night of my birthday, and felt like my name was Peter Criss from Kiss.
The guitar controller far outranks the Guitar Hero controller. It looks, feels and sounds like a real Fender Stratocaster. Sure it has the same set of buttons the Guitar Hero controller does, but baby, that other set of buttons is the real difference maker. The other set of buttons I'm referring to is the solo set. When the time comes down to getting in a real hot solo, or a big rock ending, just let loose on the solo buttons. Also you never need to insert a remote into this puppy.
The microphone brings out the vocalist in me. I have it on a real cool mic stand. Of course it needs a wireless mic holder, but that's a minor thing. Hearing my voice amplified through my home theater system in 5.1 surround is better than any studio setup.
As far as the interface goes, the USB hookup is awesome. The tutorials are really great. On a whole, if you're a musician like me, or have a real band to play with, get your hand on Rock Band.
Rock on Baby!
"A MUST HAVE for all Wii owners", Great game with or without multiple people. The drums are VERY sturdy and reliable. I've have been banging on them for months and no signs of damage The spring in the Bass pedal is larger and thicker compared to the ones of the 360,PS3,PS2 The Guitar/Bass is OK, but not very useful The fret buttons and very smooth but are VERY loud. The strum bar has no give and feels useless. The Microphone is great and made by Logitech. It's USB so you can use it with your computer as well. Might also work with the upcoming Animal Crossing for Wii.
Fun game has it's problems with No DLC(Downloadable Content) Which is due to the Wii's storage problem But this will be fixed in the upcoming RockBand 2 coming around December to the USA.

Read this reviews before You buy...
"Wii Love It!", This is my first experience with any of the instrument playing games (rock band or guitar hero). I purchased it here on Amazon for a lower price than in stores near me and got free shipping. That alone was enough to make me excited. I bought this for my 13 year old stepdaughter for her birthday. It is great! We love it very much. Everything worked and was in perfect condition when we received it in the mail. I had already read the reviews stating that there is not much customization, but that is fine with us as we just like to rock! One suggestion, children much younger than mine (13 yrs) are likely to really bang on the drums hard and in general be a little rough on the instruments. I just mentioned it to them that they can be a little more gentle and it worked, supervision may be necessary to avoid replacing instruments. Video games sure have come a long way since Atari!
"Pretty Good Times with Friends", Well, I was recently invited to a friend's BBQ and tried this out for the first time. The whole package came with a game disc which was scratched up. Best Buy clerk let my friend exchange the game disc for another one. However, the clerk reminded us that whole package should have been returned and replaced rather than only the game disc. The pieces were easy to put together but some friends had issue with the quality of the parts. The guitar had this head piece that was difficult to snap on. Also, the drum set seemed a bit unsecured but was corrected after reading instructions. The USB hub had some problem with recognizing the microphone but don't know if this is just a freak accident.
The game disc has a couple of songs which was a letdown. But, these songs were fairly easy to sing to and play along. People were nervous about singing alone but you don't really hear it. The game console just monitors if you have the right tones (high, low, medium). Also, there is only the long notes where your voice is projected. Overall, you should start at the easy setting and then work up to difficult. Guitar was by far the easiest to do. Just follow the color scheme on the screen to the buttons on the guitar. The drums was just a tad bit harder since you are moving around each of the drums. After a while, just sit back and watch others since you get to see others polishing their skill. Well, it's a crowd-pleaser that everyone can't really screw-up too badly in the company of friends.
"We LOVE Wii Rock Band!", I bought this because we had adult children coming to visit. Little did I know that I would enjoy the game as much as they do! Rock Band gives everyone an opportunity to play at their level. We bought an extra guitar so we could include the bass player. GREAT way to have fun as a family!
"great rockband", i recieved the rockband quickly. my niece turned 21 yrs. she was so excited. had all her friends over and all they did was play together, they all had so much fun. this game is great to have friends and familys do something together. this is one of the best inventions to come out. i love this game. rockband 2 will be out soon. but it does not matter how much better it is. you still have fun together whether it is rockband 1 or 2.
"Well worth the $$", Great game my kids enjoy playing very much ages 11,9,6. They can play together or alone.
