"Very Disappointed"
I am very disappointed because I bought this album only for the Switchfoot song "This is Home." I love this song and couldn't find it anywhere else. When I got the CD and played it, it is not the original version of the song that I have heard on the radio. It is a very slow version of the song on this soundtrack. Now I still do not have the song I like and don't like instrumental music. That is very disappointing. I just wanted to let others know that if you're buying it for the Switchfoot song it is not the same and save your money.

"IMages rush back"
As with any soundtrack to a movie you love, Prince Caspian delivers on rushing those images back to your mind as you listen to this beautiful score.

"Couldn't be worse"
I ordered The Chronicles of Narna: Prince Caspian and received a dirty used copy of The Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe. I will be returning it but doubt I'll ever be made whole. Will never order from this seller again.n

"such great music"
This is such beautiful music. There are such haunting melodies. And I really like one of the last songs, 'The Call', by Regina Spektor. It really speaks.

"A story of healing"
I found the movie healing and amazing. Your family will enjoy the story. The message of Christ was spiritual. Why don't we see? Everytime, Ashael appeared the symbolism was amazing. Bravery to be valiant, a happy and good life, and learn what you can. WWI, a time of pain, lose of meaning, and darkness transcended by the spiritual realm of purpose, power, and design.

"Moving Score With Depth and Feeling", I'm floored that anyone could give this soundtrack less than five stars (four at the least). It positively overflows with elegance, emotion, and movement. It is darker than the first soundtrack, but this sets it apart from its predecessor and plunges the listener deeper into the troubled but beautiful world of Narnia. Harry Gregson-Williams does wonders incorporating new music with the already established Narnia themes and at times the music is so moving it pierces through you with poignancy and depth that many composers struggle to achieve. The ending pieces revive the sometimes (appropriately) heavier tonality of the score with a light, positive, hopeful and somewhat bittersweet mood that always leaves me satisfied, never depressed. Both Narnia soundtracks are among my favorites in my extensive soundtrack collection and every time I listen to them, I enjoy them just as much as the time before.

"Deaf Monkies in the Dark", Who's making these marketing decisions at the Magic Kingdom, deaf monkies in the dark?

Aside from John William's original Star Wars orchestral scores, how often do people buy albums JUST for the background music (which is what a good film score does; if you find yourself noticing the score more than you're paying attention to the plot/dialogue/action, then the movie is either lame or the sound engineering was done drunken interns).

Forcing us to buy 12 pieces of instrumental music just to get to the ballads/anthems/etc that we REALLY want is just plain dumb. It also denies artists like Regina Spektor and Switchfoot (et al) cash in the form of royalties never paid because of songs never bought.

I'm not knocking Gregson-Williams, his heroic, Romantic score does the job of the Heroic Fantasy we watched. But without it's cinematic context, it's just so many bits and pieces.

I first checked for the Spektor/Switchfoot songs on iTunes and got hit with the "Album Only" non-sense. I wasn't surprised, iTunes does this sort of thing all the time. Amazon, typically doesn't. Hence Disney's clearly the one at fault here, dictating the terms.

How about a little corporate courage? Disney needs the Amazon outlet (portal?) much more than Amazon needs Disney soundtrack CDs. Use your customer base to get us what we want how we want it.

A VERY disatisfied TEN year Amazon customer!!!! (And 38 yr Disney customer!)

"Very disappointed", I borrowed this cd from the library to make sure I wanted to buy it, and I was very disappointed. The songs on this cd are almost cloned from the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and the new ones aren't any good. Harry Gregson-Williams did a wonderful job on the first one, but it seems he couldn't create anything new. I gave it two stars because the songs are good, but nothing new. I would recommend buying the first one instead of this one.

"Narnia as expected", I purchased the cd strictly for the tracks "The Call" by Regina Spektor and "This is Home" by Switchfoot. These are surprisingly my favorite tracks.
I wasn't very impressed by the other songs that had lyrics, but the "soundtracks" are good. Kind of reminds me of some of the songs from Pirates (without that theme of course).
Overall didn't disappoint in a soundtrack sort of sense.

"Disappointed", I was a great fan of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe score, so was very much looking forward to this release. Unfortunately, i'm pretty disappointed.
One of the reasons I enjoyed the original score so much was for it's calm, celtic-like melodies in the first half or so of the score. This score has a similar layout, but it focuses a lot more on the battle/action tracks, which i'm not particularly fond of.
I can completely understand why this is the case, as the film is a lot darker than the first and i've heard it contains a lot more action. This would be great if these tracks weren't so repetitive, sounding like the typical Media Ventures action cues we've heard so many times before. And even by the half way point these tracks start to drag, and the overall feel is that of hope for an original track some time soon.

However, perhaps for someone new to the genre and not having heard the first (a lot of the music on this CD sounds like rehashes of tracks from the first, which I guess is fair enough considering it is of course the same series of films) they would find a lot to enjoy here.
There still are some great tracks, the first 4 or so are a great listen. However, for me, after that is just gets repetitive and boring.

It also dosn't help having read before hand, this may or may not be true, that the composer - Harry Gregson-Williams was bored himself when composing the score. It definately shows.

"Gregson-Williams is powerful and original - yet editing could have been better", I love Harry Gregson-William's soundtracks - he has a fresh, original method of composing which is exciting to listen to. When I saw Prince Caspian, several things he does with the music hit me as genius, and I instantly bought the soundtrack.

And there is my "yet." Like many soundtracks, it seems the editing process was more of a "sampling" of the music in Prince Caspian - which is irritating to no avail! For example, the theme that caught my attention most of all was the mouse's theme, with the muted trumpet. What a great choice! Yet the soundtrack only slightly alludes to the theme - twice - whereas the movie contains an extended solo during the raid on the castle. The track named after that event doesn't even contain a snippet of that theme - for shame!

It is reminiscent of Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, in which the theme of the movie can be found ONCE. While in Prince Caspian you can hear the main theme (hundreds of times), additional colour and texture the composer so brilliantly entwined into the music of this movie has been excluded from the soundtrack.

Although I still recommend it, I will always be frustrated at the soundtrack-editing process. It makes no sense to me.

"Good addition to the original", This soundtrack makes a good addition to the soundtrack of the first Narnia movie. Some of the music seems the same, but with slight variations.

"Get music for a so-so movie", I buy just about every soundtrack that comes out and listen to them all over and over again. I can tell you that this is one of the top 5 soundtracks of the year, no question. It is dark, yet emotional. The music really captures the film and allows you to remember the film with each passing minute, which is one of my top criteria for a top-notch soundtrack. If you are a big fan of great soundtracks, this is one for you. I can tell you that the movie itself would not get more than 3 stars out of this reviewer.

"OK", This soundtrack is reasonably good with two really worthwhile songs.

Admittedly, I am not a huge fan of tunes that are just instrumentals unless they are extremely well done. Most of the tracks here fall in that category. Much of this album is really just mediocre and very similar sounding.

I bought it for the Switchfoot song, 'This Is Home', which is very good. There is also one by Regina Spektor that is quite good.

This is really kind of a ripoff. I really would have just bought the Switchfoot song probably on Amazon or ITunes. Unfortunately, that is not possible. Although one can purchase most of the singles as digital downloads on those two sites, that is not the case with the really good songs that I mentioned above. In order to buy 'This Is Home' or 'The Call' digitally, one must buy the whole album. Methinks that stinks.

I would recommend passing on this one. I don't care to reward record companies that engage in such practices.

"Beautiful!", The Narnia soundtracks are beautifully composed and are definitely my favorite to listen to out of 20 soundtracks that I have.
The music is intense - both warlike intensity and intensely "good". The music portrays a the feeling of real goodness and hope that is deeply uplifting.
