"Good music but bad recording", I'd agree that this is a good Madonna CD like the others. The music is good and lyrics are good. Nothing as sweet as 'Ray of Light' though.

BUT- the Cd recording quality is horrible. Most tracks seem to have such a strong signal that is distorts. [even on top quality headphones].

My Question From Listening To This CD Is "What Makes You Madonna?", "Why Are You A Legend?", For Her To Play This CD As The Answer To My Questions Would Be A Joke On Her Part.

"Give It 2 ME!!!", Madonna proves that she can tackle any sound and can make it her own. Madonna has proven this time and time again, although when names like Justin Timberlake, and Kanye West begin popping up, you wonder if she can make this work and be taken seriously. She aced it, and it's incredible that she did.

The ambitious set is not without its problems, though.

If there is one flaw with the album, many songs suffer over-production. On songs such as the Timberland-Timberlake produced, "Voices" and "Devil Wouldn't Recognize You", the bass is so loud, you can barely here the vocals or any other instruments used in the track, and they are in there, but regrettably are drowned out. This is a shame since you can tell that there's a great song in there, but it is just mess mix wise. Even with the volume turned down, the bass still dominates and can break one's speakers. This may work with a dance track, but these are ballads.

The song "Candy Shop" is probably the only wince-worthy song of the set, which is a shame since it's the opening track. There's too many cliches, and Madonna sounds pretty shaky in her delivery. It sounds as if this was one of the first songs she cut for the album. It's the one song where sparseness doesn't work. It could stand a little "over production". The song works much better live.

"Beat Goes On", a great disco-inspired song goes off the track when Kanye West appears. He makes a nice addition, but the way he is spliced into the track, sounds very patchy.

There are times when Madonna sounds more like a guest star in her own songs, mainly due to the production. However, duet-wise with Timberlake, ("Dance Tonight", "4 Minutes), it somehow works. They oddly work well together.

Best moments: Dance Tonight, Heartbeat, Incredible, Give It 2 Me, Spanish Lesson, Miles Away

"What was she thinking?", One thing is that Madonna likes to change with every record and that she tries to stay updated and other is that she makes a crappy record just to be on the headlines...

The record has only 3 great songs: 4 Minutes, Give it to me and Beat goes on, but the rest really sound like Rihanna's or Britney's left overs.

It is too sad that a Legend like Madonna tries to fit the mold of talentless pop puppets like Spears or Rihanna...

"Not for early fans of Madonna.", This was purchased without having heard any of the tracks as I am a big Madonna fan and have loved her music throughout the decades. However, I was in for a big surprise after listening thoroughly to this album.

The style is far from any of her previous material and seems to have been heavily influenced by contributing artist Justin Timberlake. Those having heard Timberlake's material and not having liked it will probably not like this album. I realize that this may not apply to everyone.

However, if you are buying album expecting it to be like previous material released by Madonna, take a listen first before buying.

"Good, not his best", Good but no more,
Essentially I've buy this after listen radio hit "Miles Away", in some part remind me her best work for me in the past, the album "True Blue" but not: this last CD is so long from that. Yes You can hear this but is good just for young teenager, not so much for pasts Madonna listner

"Just not good", Madonna's attempt of regaining some commercial popularity in the US creates a messy album that is not enjoyable by her "traditional" fans nor by the people that dictate who tops the charts in our country nowadays. She is not good at this and looks and sounds awkward....she should stick to what made her the queen of pop and abandon her ambitions to please the hip-hop crowd in order to sell more records.

"I guess this our "Erotica" for this decade?", I'm just not sure what the angle was for this album? Is she a boxer, a dominatrix, and how does candy tie into everything? I know that her goal was to just create a fun-filled "dance" album, but this one seemed rushed together.

I'm really surprised she actually went on tour for this one because I didn't sense that she authentically cared about any of these songs.

"4 Minutes" was one of my favorite singles that she's released in recent years, but the rest of this album is generic, forgettable, and sometimes even annoying.

"Voices" is a rare gem, and "The Devil Wouldn't Recognize You" is also very good. "Miles Away" managed to grown on me and "Give It 2 Me" became likable thanks to constant play in gay clubs.

It's because of those songs that I gave this 3 stars. But the rest? Well, they sounded all about the same and seemed like a desperate plea to reach young audiences.

"Not my favorite Madonna album but I still like it", The best thing about this album is that Madonna knows how to keep up with the times. She collaborated with some of the best known artists in the music bizz right now and she did it right. The flaw with the album is that a lot of other artists have done the same thing with the same producers, so it seems a little redundant. As always, Madonna is still the queen of pop music and nobody can do music like she can!
