"Good Picture, But.....", This is my first Blu-ray player. I used this Samsung BD-P1500 player for about 80 days now. Overall it produces excellent picture quality and sound thru my HDTV (Samsung LN52A650).

On the down side, the remote control is not as sensitive as expected. Also, I have experienced complete lost of audio for a few times. I have to disconnect the power from the Blu-Ray player and plug it in again in order to re-gain the audio back. Finally, compared to non blu-ray player, this player is just slow. It can take up to one minute from the moment I put in the DVD to the moment the movie display on TV.


"Blu ray love", Very happy with the Samsung blu ray device, unbelievably clear picture and very easy to use. Works really well with my Samsung HD tv.

"So far, so good", I've only had light use of this player so far, a couple movies. The movies played great, looked good.

I did try to play a jpeg cd from Walgreens and it didn't work. Maybe a software update for the player is needed.

"Blu-ray", Not sure the quality other than the person I gifted it to said it looks good.

"Love the player", I purchased this player as a Christmas gift for the wife. the picture quality is pretty awesome. It makes regular DVDs look almost as good as Blue-Ray. It's when we put that same DVD in another player that we can really see the difference.

"Couldn't be happier", I compared this DVD player to the Sony models...couldn't tell the difference and the price was much better on the Samsung.

"Samsung BD-P1500 1080p Blu-Ray Player", I had purchased a Samsung 650 Series LCD television a couple of months ago, and wanted the Samsung player because it interacts with the television. I didn't need to add another remote to the mix. I was a little concerned with the fair amount of negative reviews of this product. However, I took the chance. I am glad I did. This player performes exactly as it should. I didn't want a player with a lot of bells & whistles, and this player does exactly what I wanted it to. It does a good job of upgrading the quality of my older movies. It even plays dvds that I made myself on an older recorder, copied from vhs-c tapes, made when my 26 year old son was a youngster!! I bought this before Thanksgiving and waited this long to see if it would perform as it should. It has. If you want a good basic machine, you can't go wrong with this one. You can't beat Amazon's price either.

"SLOW, BUT GOOD BLU-RAY PLAYER", This was my first blu-ray player and first experience with blu-ray movies.
As always, Amazon was Johnny on the spot with prompt delivery.
Hook up and start up of the player was simple and painless using an HDMI cable and digital optical cable for sound. The player was hooked up to a Samsung 52" lcd tv (quite possibly the coolest this I've ever purchased aside from my first DeWalt cordless screw gun).
My wife and I were stunned as we watching the beginning of Iron Man on blu-ray...check out the mountains in the opening scene!
Movies on blu-ray are comprable to the difference between regular TV cable and HD channels. Wow.
My only complaint is that the player does take time to load movies...perhaps due to the extra memory the discs deal with....but I can live with that.

"Great Player", Got myself a Birthday/Christmas present when it was on sale for $212.00
Great right out of the box.
Didn't need to upgrade firmware.
Great picture, great sound.

"Worked one time", Got this as a Christmas gift for the family. At first the picture was great--watched Sleeping Beauty in Blu Ray and it had the clearest picture. After that, anytime the player went to spin up a disc the picture turned purple, and the signal cut out for a few seconds before coming back on. I tried this player with two different HDMI cables and had this same result. Updated the firmware via Ethernet and reset to factory default settings per Samsung with the same results. I tried this on my Philips HDTV CRT Hi-Def monitor, but on my Vizio 32" LCD I did get a picture a couple of times, but still had the purple flashes upon the boot process. Samsung thought it was their player and wanted it returned to them, but instead I returned it to Amazon because I am not sure how long I am going to be without a player. The price was right, but if I am going to have issues like this it isn't worth the aggravation. I ordered a Sony BDPS350 instead like many others have who have had issues with the Samsung. And one other thing to note--this unit does get blazing hot on the top and bottom. Many of my friends have this player and like it, but I guess this isn't my year for electronics. Do plenty of homework before buying a player--if I were to recommend this brand I would go with one of their upper end players until they get the kinks worked out of this one.
