What our customer's say!
"Tooo Dark", I wonder what they were thinking. The film is way too dark. One has to strain their eyes to make out what is happening. True the Alien films used low lighting but this was overdone for this film. The actors in this movie make the last film AvP look like a masterpiece. Lance Henricksen was in the original Alien franchise and returned as a different character in AvP. To sum up the obvious:
1) Use higher lighting. 2) Don't use teen actors.
"Unrated means it;'s porn", And it may as well be. Even if you watch the R-rated version, this film looked more like it was made for the Sci-Fi cable network as it is incredibly bad and it siganls the death of the two monster movie francises. I do not think Fox ever cared about either series anyway.
"Blu-Ray Cant Save This", Sorry, but this film is just way too dark, and not dark as in scary, but dark as in DARK. I bought the blu-ray thinking it could be an improvment, but no, same issue, just to damn dark.
the original Predator film didnt even have this much night footage and it came off great, but this, they are just trying to hide so much its so unwatchable :(
"A definative Breed apart...", As a huge fan of the Alien and Predator franchises I had high expectations for this sequel and was even more impatient for the unrated version. And frankly I was not disappointed in the least, but horrifically thrilled. The hybrid born in the last moments of the first 'vs' film was brought to unbelievable and terrible life, realistic detailing that missed nothing of the greater aspects from both species, including improved intelligence and leadership, and finally an ability to inspire heart stopping terror that combines the utter callousness and disdain for other lifeforms from both alien parent species that have shocked and horrified us in the past. Horros that were only hinted at and skimmed over in "Aliens" were brought to terrible and gut wrenching life in this special effects extravaganza that explored a cross section of humanity normally concidered inviolate, even in horror films: as seen in the the second human victim, at a restaraunt after closing and finally in a idolized ward of the hospital. These scenes alone place this film in a catagory all it's own that I will never forget or ever be able to view without something in my mind and soul shrinking away. I can understand some of the negative reviews given and may even agree, at least surfacely, with the detractors. However, I completely disagree with those who completely dish this film because of these marks of imperfections. Okay, so the lighting could have been brighter in the night scenes, the alien embryos did have an excelerated development compared to most previous incarnations in the Alien quadrilogy, the characters were not shining examples of subtext and complexicity, and perhaps the ending was not a jaw dropping surprise, but... the darkness was reminescent of the original Alien films and managed to convey one of the most diabolical fears of humans exploited by Ridley Scott & James Cameron -the paralizing terror of monsters in the shadows, (personally I had no trouble seeing or following the camera's eyes and the resultant half flashes building up to explosions of terror), we also saw the same excelerated embryonic growth in "Alien vs Predator" and I saw this in both films as a development by the Predators themselves to enjoy the 'hunt' without undue waiting and waisting of time alloted for achieving the highest honor and status of their kind, nor did I expect to see Academy Award winning performances in a high action horror film, although there was nothing wrong with the performances in this movie as the actors indeed conveyed their hopes, embarrassments, fears, and desperation with style and aplomb. As for the ending I found it ingenious to have a tie-in that stretched back to the earlier films, especially "Aliens" itself. So, to sum it up I find this film to be a wonderful example of the things I most want in any action, horror, thriller, or sci-fi creation: superb and extraordinary special effects, a script that pushes the envelope of it's predecessors and will spark hours of my own thoughts and what-ifs, good and believable performances of the cast, and finally- a movie that I have already watched more than once and will enjoy many times to come.
"One of my favorite movies- There's hope for this franchise!", AVP:R This film starts directly after Paul W. S. Anderson's yawner AVP. I have to admit when I first saw AVP I absolutly loved it! But after seeing the rest of the Alien and Predator movie series, the action, horror, and flow of them made me look back and say "I watched that disgraceful movie?" Now that AVP:R is out it easily ties with my other two favorite Alien movies: Alien and Aliens. I only give it 4 out of 5 stars because the characters are pretty two-dimensional. The movie starts with the Pred-alien being born, quickly morphing into full size, and killing two Predators. The Predator ship then crashes on Earth, where facehuggers infect a father and his son, who are on a hunting trip. Soon aliens are born, the Pred-alien starts putting aliens into people, and a predator lands on Earth to "clean up" the mess. People start dying, and the town nearby begins to wonder "what's going on here?" There are some pretty gruesome scenes, and this unrated version is not for the faint of heart. It's good for those of you who thought the first AVP was to much on the lighter side of things. For there first film the brothers Strause did a pretty good job! It's another great way to re-imagine this series( there's no lack of imagination!) Highly recommended for all of you Alien/Predator fans! A-

"BOOOO!! 4.5 OUT OF 10", I liked the first AVP movie, but it was ultimately lackluster. However, AVP: Requiem is bad altogether. There are just some scenes that should never even be included in a film of its nature. WHAT IT'S ABOUT: When a ship belonging to the Predator aliens crashes in Colorado because a legion of aliens kills all the crew members, the aliens get out and start killing people. So a lone Predator comes to Earth to destroy the aliens and prevent them from spreading. The story also revolves around a group of survivors who are determined to escape from the city. MUSIC: This one part of the movie that is good. One of the main highlights in an overall bad experience. STORY: The plot is paper-thin and riddled with holes. You won't even know who most of the characters names. Most of the time you'll be going, "Wait, who the hell are you?," because of how poorly assembled the plot is. I was only able to memorize the name of the waitress who got killed within forty minutes of the movie. ENTERTAINMENT: At first it seems the movie is going to be awesome... until the teen drama steps in and ruins it. When this began to happen I was left going, "Oh God no." Also, the dialogue is bad which makes the story go to waste even more. This is one of those Ha Ha Stupid movies. Also, you may have trouble trying to see this movie because some parts are just too dark to see. I didn't have this problem most of the time, but a lot of people sure did. This movie has some cool action moments, but they all face-plant because of too many poorly implemented character progressions and storyline. GORE: Sometimes it's good, sometimes it's bad which is disappointing. OVERALL: Bad. This movie wasted nearly all of its potential with bad storytelling, absurd dialogue, and overall stupid characters (Surely bullet-proof vests will save us!). THE GOOD: Some cool action moments, some nasty gore, and plenty of Ha Ha Stupid moments. THE BAD: Too dark to see sometimes, bad storytelling, lame characters, and too many Ha Ha Stupid moments.
"avpr review", This is a pretty good film. I am glad that the Predator is skinnier, and the Aliens finally have the ridged heads. The Predalien is awesome. Most of the alien scenes are made with CGI, so they sometimes look fake. The creators chose dark lighting to make the movie seem scarier, but all it did was make it hard to see what was going on. You can bearly see the Predalien most of the time. The beginning, where the Predalien Chestburster comes out looks really bad, compared to AVP. It looks like they put a worm coming out of a Predator. Also, Wolf Predator knew about the Predalien, and Facehuggers, so I think more than one Predator would be sent to kill or capture it. Any way, Wolf was sent to Earth to kill the Aliens, so he wouldn't be killing and skinning Humans, so that doesn't make any sense. They also made the Facehugger acid blood too strong in the beginning, in the original Alien series, the acid could not burn a persons arm off. But in the end, they didn't make the Predalien's acid blood strong enough, The Predator ripped the small jaw out of the Predaliens mouth and a whole lot of acid squirted out, but it didn't burn up the Predator. Oh, and also, the Predator carries this blueish liquid around, that he never runs out of, and it dissolves everything, so the Humans can't find anything, to me, thats stupid. OK, I'm going on to the good parts. The Aliens and Predator look a lot better than in AVP, and the ending battle is great. The Predator is awesome, because it has 2 Plasma Casters, and now has trip mines. It also has 2 Shuriken Discs, and a whip, that chopps up Aliens. The part whre the Predalien and Aliens take over the hospital is good, and it has the goo on the walls like in the movie, Aliens. The Predator also has wrist blades like the original, which is better. This movie is pretty good, except for the bad parts listed above.
"Aliens vs. Predator - Requiem (Two-Disc Special Edition with Digital Copy)", Love this movie, it is better than the "R" rated version from the theaters, unless they changed it when they put it on DVD. This one adds parts and changes one spot which makes more sence. Everyone says it is to dark... I could see all of it and it looks fine.....The only thing we found bad was a hesitation in the movie, we got 3 -4 different copies sent to us and they all do it, company says they don't do it but we didn't find one that didn't. The Aliens vs. Predator - Requiem (Unrated Edition) does it too, we ended up with 2 copies of that one in the end since we didn't need the digital copy, which is for the computer or to put on an ipod or somethiing. The hesitation isn't a big deal but would be nice if it wasn't on it. Great movie . LOVE IT
"Awesome!!!", I always want it a movie with and alien on earth and without super weapons, when the first AVP movie came out i didn't love the pyramid thing, but in this one, ufff, for me is the best alien movie ever!!!
"AVP sequel not so great", I was really disappointed in the direction this sequel went. There was absolutely no scare factor that Aliens is known for. Nothing new that you didn't already know about Predators.
If you remember from the last movie, at the end, an alien spawn burst out of a deceased Predator. Thus, an alien/Predator hybrid and made its way to Earth and attacking on humanity. Another Predator investigates and learns of a hybrid and takes off to hunt it down.
That pretty much it. Humans are just in the way of the hybrid and the Predator is doing its best to track it down and kill it.
Like I said, no scare factor. No build-up of suspense. The whole thing just felt rushed. Just plain disappointing.
