"Flashback !!!", I will keep it simple, short and sweet. These tunes totally took me back to when I first heard the yellow album. This one just has that feel like it's 1979.

"A Little Fun In Our Lives", If you like the B52 sound at all then you will love this cd. The original line up is in fine voice and witty as ever. There are sexual innuendos from start to finish on this album which will keep you smiling as you listen to the great beats that make your body move without thinking. Its a great party album. It will keep or put you in a good mood and get your energy up. Although there is not quite a Love Shack or a Rock Lobster, every song is good, no duds. The song writing is first rate musically along with super fun lyrics. Well done, highly recommended.

"The Fun Never Dies", Wow. Great job b-52's. This is a delirious sex-party dance jam from start to finish. The production is impeccable. They totally nailed the guitar sound. The songs are different enough to be interesting. Fred and the girls sound great. What a surprise. Buy it and dance.

"They Still Have It.", I would never have thought that after decades of music and a long "break" that The B-52's would suddenly release an album in 2008 and it would be their most solid overall effort in their entire career. They have so much good material from their previous efforts and the songs on "Funplex" fit in perfectly with them. Highlights for me include "Deviant Ingrediant", "Pump", "Funplex", and "Juliet of the Spirits" although I have to say that there isn't one song I don't like. "Ultraviolet" and "Hot Corner" are other highlights. The album is forward-thinking while still respecting the past and when that happens I think everybody wins.

""I'm at the mall on a diet pill"", I first saw this group at the PNC Arts Center in New Jersey and "Fun" was had by all. That was about six years ago. Thought that they might have had a contemporaneous new album out; I was aware that it was a "Comeback" of sorts - although not a comeback in the sense that when they regularly issued albums/CDs (?), they were known as big charters.
Whether or not you also saw their "comeback"/resurgence in New Jersey, or bought their first album in '79, this CD has alot going for it.
Maybe too much: The CD could have kicked off with "Juliet Of The Spirits", one of the greatest (new) recordings I've heard in years. Many years. With some lyrics that T. S. Eliot would re-read and some sounds that Abba would envy. Vocalist-narrator Schneider lays out on this one, exquisitly rendered by Pierson and Wilson. Multi-Musician Strickland should be recognized for strong support here; in good taste, too.
"Eyes Wide Open" has less sonic density but is another standout. "Deviant Ingredient" is a nice mid-'80s throwback (okay, "retro" opus), MTV in mind? (That still on?...).
"Keep This Party Going" is a faster uptempo, good for the stage or the car speakers.
This uninitiated listener hears a somewhat monochromatic sound throughout, though the "comic strip" backdrop allows. Guess I can't expect a "Let's change the pace...here's a great ballad by Jimmy Webb".
Artwork and design very nice, though the all-important lyrics are difficult to read in low-light.
Much credit should be given to Producer Steve Osborne. A Grammy-Award nomination should be extended to him. Also to the person who mixed the CD. But I can't read his name!

"B-52s give some fun throwback stuff", This album did not contain any groundbreaking material, but it was the B-52s playing their hearts out. I enjoyed it as it reminded me of how much fun it is listening to their stuff.

"B-52's Ride High Again!", Their sound is as fresh as ever! Everyone is in great voice. FunPlex is filled with wonderful songs. Buy this CD!!! You will not be disappointed!

"15 miles to the funplex", i just got done enjoying the b-52's new cd. funplex. what a breath of fresh air. very smooth! their voices sound awesome. if you like pop dance music , this is for you. peace bush hog

"Party on, B-52!", Wow Wow Wow! I grew up listening and partying to their strange (at that time, anyway), wonderful and imminently danceable and infectious music. After such a long hiatus, they are back with a vengeance. Their sound is the same, evolved for the 21st century, but still makes one stand up and notice. Thanks, Fred, Cindy, Kate, Keith and your talented studio musicians for bringing back the magic. I saw them perform at the "True Colors" tour and I can't wait for them to go on tour again to support their new CD. Thank you for making me realize that I haven't lost my zest for life, in spite of getting older. :-)

"as good as ever", Some bands are quiet for a while and then come out with a new release, but shouldn't have bothered. Not the case with the B-52s with Funplex. They still have "it" and I enjoy this CD as much as any of their other releases. Everything you've liked about B-52s from past albums/CDs... the fun, unique music and lyrics; the energy... all still to be found on Funplex.
