"WGA600N"
I bought this gaming adapter several months before getting around to setting it up. I have quite a bit of experience working with wireless and so I found it to be a very simple setup. I have read that some have not been able to get this to work with non-Linksys routers. I have 4 Wired/Wireless routers running, a Verizon, Netgear Wireless W302, Netgear Wireless FWAG113, and a Wireless FVG318. It was able to recognize all of them and I connected to each one to make sure that it would work with each router. I have set it up on the Netgear WG302 that is down stairs in a hallway closet. The adapter is up stairs in my bedroom connected to my Slingbox. It has been running flawlessly for a month now and it has not lost it's connection yet.

In setup I unchecked A-MPDU Aggregation and Short GUI. Unchecked WISH and unchecked WIFI Protected Setup. It is a great Linksys product and and I would buy it again.

As a side note, you can get into this unit by typing [...] in the address bar of your web browser. You can do setup from there.

"Connecting to Verizon Wireless Router"
I purchased this adapter to serve as network bridge from Verizon wireless router to Sony BDP-S550 blu-ray player (for BD Live and firmware update). The included cd setup software didn't work so I called their Technical Support. I used my Vista desktop with built in wireless card in setting up this adapter.

I was instructed from the very beginning to disable the firewall. I have Norton Anti-virus software and disabling any of its features is not as easy as before so we just proceed with the manual configuration without disabling the firewall. At first, we couldn't even get to connect/login to the adapter using manual configuration. After we had checked the pc's setting and getting nowhere, I opened up the Norton interface and finally found where I could disable the firewall. After that, we were able to setup the adapter.

When I connected the adapter to the bluray player, I still could not get into the network though the adapter had all the green lights on indicating it's working. I tried all the network options from blu ray player setup but still have the same error. I pulled out the blu ray and adapter's power for a minute - same error. I called up Sony Technical Support but he didn't even know what a network bridge/adapter is. I pulled the power out from Verizon wireless router for a minute and to my surprise, the blu ray was able to connect to the network.

The unit is working perfectly. Tried the BDLive in Iron Man and it connected to the internet without a problem and downloaded the data in a few seconds.

"Easy to setup but creates havoc with other devices"
I finished setting up the adapter (bought it for my xbox 360) and the setup was really simple (if you know wireless). Two issues came up during installation:
1) Wireless reception is weak - my PS3 sitting right next to it reports signal strength in the mid 50s range, the adapter in the mid 20s
2) After turning it on - my Wii and PS3 lost their connections and got absurd IP addresses. For them to reconnect I had to setup each console with all manual settings - preassigning IP address, router and DSN addresses. They would not connect automatically anymore - I did several tries turning on and off the gaming adapter. I believe the signal from the adapter is overriding the wireless router.
The bottom line is that in the end everything was connected properly but you have to watch out for possible side effects.

"Worked right out of the box for me"
Linksys Dual-Band Wireless-N Gaming Adapter

After reading all the reviews that were saying it wont work with non Linksys routers I was skeptical about buying it , But I decided to try for myself, to my surprise, it worked right out of the box, I have a Netgear WNR834B router.

"Works perfectly."
Installed in minutes. Zero configuration and works perfectly. Great solution for connecting game consoles, slingboxes, etc.

What our customer's say!

"Great solution", I have an XBOX 360 that I've been using as a media extender in my living room, with the 360 wireless adapter. I've been streaming all of my TV in HD from my home computer to the XBOX and the wireless-A protocol was pretty much borderline. According to the Media Center tuning graph, I never really got up to HD spec, although I've been muddling along.

I used this little device to support the wireless-n protocol for my XBOX and it's blown the tuning graph away. The line has literally flat-lined at the top of the graph. Exactly the result I was hoping for. I would have given it a five if it was a little bit cheaper and a bit easier to set-up, but nonetheless I'm quite happy with it.

Note: I'm using it with the D-Link DGL-4500 wireless router.

"Works Well", I had to follow the instructions on another reviwer, entitled "Advanced configuration directions," but other than that...this device works well. I have not had to unplug it to reboot it once. I use it with my PS3 for N speeds. My PS3 would disconnect during online play over my G network. I have not experienced any dropouts of the N network.

"Important for DirecTV subscribers!", I just wasted an hour trying to set this up through my PC while getting error message after error message.

If you're trying to hook this up to your DirecTV box (HR-21) to get on-demand content, you DO NOT have to set up the adapter through a pc.

Simply connect the device to your HR-21's network port, plug it in, and click DirecTV's menu button. Go to "Set-up," then down to "Network." Answer the questions, and in less than a minute, you should be up and running.

The latest update to DirecTV boxes provides immediate plug-and-play access with the adapter.

Hope I saved someone else a lot of time!

"Great Wireless N Router", I bought 3 LINKSYS Dual-Band Wireless-N Gaming Adapters 2-3 month ago.
Those work very well so far. I recommend this product to anyone.

"Horrible...Have you used Linksys support?????", I was excited to use this device. Setup was somewhat difficult. Range with both bands was about 30 ft....standard construction, no concrete or metal walls. I never have been on 2 star rater, but would only state to be beware.
Plus....

Linksys outsourced support is horrible. Call them and ask some basic questions about products before you buy them. No clue about wireless standards. Ask about "power over Ethernet" . 5 agents had not the faintest.

"Linksys Gaming Adapter used with Direct DVR", Great product - used it to connect my Directv HD DVR to my home network (n based). Easy set-up and no issues. I can now stream pic sound to my tv from my pc using "media share" from Directv

"xbox 360 or my Dishnetwork", It works great for both my xbox 360 and my Dish Network DVR. Love it

"Apple Time Capsule & Xbox 360", Apparently, this is the only way to go for that combo. Tried the microsoft wireless adapter for the console and that would not connect with Time Capsule. This one seems to work just fine with my network.

"Works Great", bought it to play socom on my playstation2 and it works great. easy to set up.

"Great with Directv", I'm a novice computer person. I always try to do things myself. The Linksys Dual Band Wireless-N-gaming adapter was easy to set up. I'm using to access On-Demand programs through my Directv. I works with no problem at all. It was a ease to set-up. I just followed the instruction. It also allows me to access my desktop from my TV. It's great it.
