"THIS BABY IS GREAT!!!"
This baby reads EVERYTHING!!! and it's CHEAP!!!! I depend on the Kingston Technology name when I build or upgrade computers for customers. They've always been the leader in Memory and their customer service is superb. Therefore my choice was based only on the Kinsgston name, and I'm glad I did. I doubt there will be a card that it can't read, and this baby is FAST!!! I really didn't expect it to transfer data to my computer using the USB 2 port this quickly. You can NOT go wrong for this price. It's cheap and it does the job perfectly. BUY IT!!!!

"Works for me with OpenBSD 4.4"
After trouble with a cheapo Neodio Technologies USB writer (spontaneous disconnects on both Ubuntu 8.10 and OpenBSD 4.4), I didn't have too much hope for any multi-card writer. I was pleasantly surprised to see the Kingston FCR-HS219/1 worked fine writing my Kingston Elite Pro 4GB 133X CF cards. (I have version 2.00/97.22 of the writer according to /var/log/messages). I was able to keep a 4G CF card mounted on an OpenBSD 4.4 box for several days without any disconnect problems. The writes are fast, and the device shows up as 4 SCSI devices, so I'm guessing if I had other cards in different slots they'd be visible at the same time.

"Good Product"
This is a good product as it can handle almost all high capacity card. The only downer for me is that is not compatible with XD cards.

"NO xD and shorter cord than pictured"
This unit does not have a reader for xD so it will not read cards that Olympus and FujiFilm cameras use.

Also, the USB extension is 3', looks longer in the pic.

"A little bulky, but works just fine."
I was looking for a portable method of allowing me to import multiple cards into my laptop. This product does just what it says in the description. I wish it were slightly smaller to fit in my portable laptop case as I travel frequently, but it does the job!

What our customer's say!

"Awesome little thing!!", This card reader is the handiest little gadget I have ever bought for reading and transferring files to a variety of different memory cards. I would buy it again, that's for sure.

"De-bunking some of the earlier reviews", The Kingston Card Reader is a good product. Some of the earlier reviews mentioned that the reader does not recognize cards grater than 4GB. That's not true, I am currently using a 6GB and two 8-GB CF Cards in my Canon 50D and my Canon 40D Cameras and they work/read perfectly in this card reader.
I do plug my card reader into a USB Hub that has it's own power source and if I swap-out a card with a different card, I have to un-plug the reader from the hub to get it to read the new card -- but it does read all my cards just fine.
Lastly, if you push down on the toggle on top of the unit and slide it forward, you can avoid the pliers as mentioned by one other reviewer.

" convenient", Works good! I like the fact that I can put in the card from my camera (compact flash), My wifes camera (SD), My phone (Micro SD), etc. I have a CF reader that is faster, but not as versatile.

"Versatile and well-designed", I've used this with SD and CF cards, and it performs as expected. I bought a second one to keep in my office. Things I like: 1. Price. 2. Pigtail USB connector built in and extension cable included. 3. Reader retracts into its case, so connector can be tucked away and any card left in the slot is protected. Handy when transporting with a card.

"Very fast, good value, 19-in-1.", Tried it yesterday for the first time. I suppose the opening slides into the case to protect slots, but maybe not needed. Cord very short but comes with an extension. I am VERY impressed with how FAST this works. Red light on the top lights when in use, not explained in info card. Drivers not needed but for detail are available on-line. Well built.

"Media reader easy to use", I purchased thes media reader because my laptop doesn't have a slot for complact flash cards. It was easy to install and has a USB cord that snaps away, so it is hidden and out of the way when not in use. The media slots are hidden, then you slide them forward to use. It's a great addition to my laptop.

"Won't do xD", I purchased this unit thinking that surely xD would be one of the many formats this device can handle.

It doesn't. If you want to read xD cards, this device won't help you.

However, of the devices similar to this that I've owned, this one seems like a good model. It is compact and I like the protective shell feature.

"Good Card Reader", Very Fast Card Reader. It's faster than my internal card reader in my desktop. The USB connection is funky, with a short USB cord with an extension instead of a mini USB-b connection. It even has a port for MicroSD/Transflash, without an adapter.

"Kingston 19-in-1 Media Reader", Good little device, although I'm not sure why it needs to be slid in and out of the hard covered sleeve it is encased in. None-the-less, the sleeve doesn't affect the use of the product one way or the other. Good value for the money.

"worked fine with SD card and CF card", worked fine with SD card and CF card (type III). both 2 GB cards. Computer OS was Windoze XPPro (intel desktop) and Mac OS Tiger (non-intel laptop).
