"Great Design with average to below average sound (too much treble)"
I've read lots of the reviews. And I'm surprised how many reviews talk about how great these headphones sound. There is sooooo much treble in these headphones you can hear every symbol crash to excess. And the bass is below average or average at best. If you use the iphone EQ you can improve the sound and make them sound better than the iPhone standard.

Using the EQ you can make the sound better than average. But the overall design is great. The earbuds look stylish and are very comfortable. The cloth covered cord is functional and stylish. I especially like the button on the mic that will pause, play and skip to next selection. This is an AWSOME feature.

Overall Design - 5 of 5
Sound Quality - 2 of 5 without iPhone EQ
Sound Quality - 3.5 of 5 with iPhone EQ

"V-Moda iPhone headphones"
I like performance, but this is my second purchase of these headphones and both have stopped playing music in one ear in less than 1 year of use. I am going to contact V-moda, but this is poor design in my opinion.

"Not worth the price"
I expected the V-MODA earbuds to be of good quality given the price. However, when walking outside with any sort of breeze, they would whistle noticeably. Regardless of wind the audio quality wasn't any better than the s headphones that come standard with the iPhone. After 6 months of regular usage, they started working intermittently before one side dying out completely. Given some of the other reviews, I should have seen this coming.

"Sound great, until they break. No durability."
The wires at the headphone casings on TWO sets of these rather pricey head phones have split or come out of the casing, exposing the wire itself, then leading to no sound in the left ear.
Having purchased a pair each, my BF and I both use them with varying shades of delicacy (I might be a bit easier on mine) and yet, they fell apart at equal rates, within 4 months.
Tried mailing them back to company for a replacement, but it would not be so...
Sound quality was great and they felt good in my ear, but at $75 or more every three months to keep that benefit I don't think so. I wonder if the sudden iPhone madness had them using suppliers or manufacturers that let some quality slide to meet orders, because I used to think V-MODA had some quality stuff. Now, I will be moving to Sennheiser I think, who made my home theater wireless headsets, and we do love those.
Over all, I must conclude durability on these is poor at best.

"Sound quality acceptable; design severely flawed"
This is what I wrote to V-Moda...

"I am writing to you to provide some feedback concerning your Vibe Duo headphones. First of all let me say that I have no complaints about the sound quality of the headphones or the microphone. Both are very good. That being said I have several complaints of a design nature, which are severe enough that I will never buy another pair of your headphones."

"Let me break this down into two, specific issues. The first has to do with the junction between the left and right cords. My experience has been that the sharply edged top of the metal piece is constantly getting caught on different surfaces. If I bend over while sitting at a desk or table it gets caught on the underside and yanks the headphones, painfully, out of my ears. In the month that I have been using these headphones this has happened at least three or four times. Looking at the part in question it is easy to see how rounding out the corners could have taken care of this problem from the start, but then that wouldn't have been as "stylish"..."

"The second issue is related to the first and has to do with the microphone piece on the right cord. Again we find a sharply cornered and angular piece that is constantly getting caught on things. If I use these headphones while wearing a collared shirt the mic piece catches on the collar, tugging painfully on the earphones. If I wear a jacket with a zipper the same thing happens. This painful experience is repeated at least every five to ten minutes that I am wearing the headphones, and again it is easy to see how a rounding out of the corners and an overall smoothing of the design could have made this a non-issue before the first pair were even sold."

"I realize that people who wear collared shirts and zippered jackets may note be part of your trendy demographic, but considering the number of them being sold in many different retail outlets I think you may have to broaden your ideas. I'm also sorry to say that I won't be selling your headphones to anyone either. You see, I work in one of those retail outlets I mentioned just a moment ago, and based on my experience with the Vibe Duos I definitely will not be recommending them to anyone."

What our customer's say!

"seem good so far", they stick inside your ear which is a little bit tight, dif size fittings once they are in place it seals out external sound and creates a base tube in your head. they are good if you like a tight fit earplug.

""redesigned" jack = still broke", I read all the negative reviews on the V-Moda Vibes and stayed away, but when i read on Gizmodo that they had been redesigned with a new "y"-shaped jack, i assumed the pervasive issues had been corrected.

Well, I was wrong. I received my new pair of V-Moda Vibes (with the newly designed jack) a couple months ago and the left ear bud has slowly been cutting out over the last two weeks. today it's completely dead. based on the other reviews, i can expect the right one to fail soon.

Seems that the redesigned jack is only a cosmetic change and nothing has actually been fixed.

"For nearly a hundred dollars they should not be broken", Sometimes you get what you pay for. Not so with these. The pair I bought were broke right out of the package. The button would not work, so I returned them quickly. What are they doing with their profits? Not any quality checking that is for sure. You would think they could afford quality assurance instead of packaging and shipping broken junk.

"Not the best, but good enough", I've been using this headset for 2 years now. And I had to exchange them twice due to the cord breaking. But the customer service was fantastic. In both cases, I had a new pair within a week. So I have to give them a credit for that.

Now for the Vibe Duo review. I don't know what everyone is expecting for sub $100 pair of headset, but the sound quality is great. You can't expect to have the sound quality of something that cost $200 or $300 for the price of $100. Vibe Duo does everything I expected for it to do for the money and more. I use it with my iPhone so my vide duo goes with me everywhere. And I don't have to worry about having $300 headset in my pocket getting damaged or fear loosing them. The sound quality is very good but it is skewed towards the base. Overall I recommend the Vibe duo to every iPhone owner out there. (If money is no object for you, there are clearly better sounding headset, but the value for the money is hard to beat with Vibe Duo)

P.S - At home I use Sennheiser HD595

"best ever but they stop working in 30 days", These were the best headphones, by far, of any i have ever tried, and i have used a great many over the years. Sound is great, microphone is great, and they stayed in my ears better than anything else. Unfortunately, after three weeks, they stopped working--the closures on the microphone unsealed. I brought it back to the apple store, and they said it had been abused (No marks on it--nothing at all--the thing came apart.) Anyway, i bought another, and one for my wife, because i figured it was just my bad luck, and the sound is truly amazing. Unfortunately, the copper wire sliced through the rubber coating, and i lost audio in one ear...the other ear worked for about three more weeks before it too gave out...I wish they would fix this because they really do work better than any other headphones.

"I really like mine", I've been trying to find quality earphones for some while now. Tried the Etymotics and Shures which were more $$ and think they would be great if you could get the fit/seal just right...i couldn't. they werent comfortable, and still wouldnt seal well enough for me in spite of trying all manner of sizes and gyrations. They ended up sounding worse than pack-in earphones.

I think these V-Modas are superb. They pop right in, stay there, look great, are comfortable, and appear to be well made (I hope mine dont break as others have reported)..They seem to be well reinforced in critical areas. Most importantly, I think they sound great. I dont get this overwhelming bass that others mention..the bass is punchy and accurate sounding or more present than other earphones, but certainly not overwhelming or booming. Mine sounded a bit raw/harsh at first, but either settled in or I nicely adjusted to them..i think the sound is very well balanced and all there..more of a warm rich full sound than bright or forward.

The one negative for me is that the call button is hard to locate and depress when a call comes in.

I am using these with a Motorola ROKR e8 and the mic and call button work fine with the above caveat. I play my music flat , and listen to all kinds of music

"Don't waste your money", The quality of sound and product appearance is very nice... for about 3 months. Then the left earbud sound will start cutting out. the problem is the junction of the wire and the plug can't handle normal flexing from use and keeping the iPhone in pocket. I had these for a little under a year and this is the 3rd pair that have failed on me! At least the warranty is good and they ship me a new pair each time, but I'm buying a different brand this time around rather than shipping them in again to get a fourth pair and have them die on me in 2 or 3 months. Sorry vibe-duo, you need to do some redesigning around the plug area. it is an extremely weak design. I have had cheap sony earbuds last me years with no problem.

"Stay as far away as you can from V-Modo Vibe Duos!!!!", I read a lot of reviews before putting my money out there. When the Vibe-Duos hit the market, there werent many reviews to be read since this product was so new. I wish I had waited until there was.

2 V-Modo Vibe Duos- thats $200 I spent on garbage. The sound quality started off as phenomenal but diminished over the course of 2-3 months. First one side stopped working, then the other. I thought that it was just me being rough with them so I chalked that up to my own fault. This is where the 2nd pair come in.

I was very careful this time around. Making sure I treated them with the $100 respect they deserved. These took a little longer to stop working; but ultimately the fact remains that they did. I contacted V-Modo and they replied back with some sub-standard email that basically said IF I still have the receipt, I could return them- 6 months later, whose still holding onto the receipt.

In terms of looks and sound, these are great, but the BUILD QUALITY is beyond horrible. For the speed in which they stop functioning all together, V-Modo should be giving these away for free. The fact that its THEIR product should be enough for a replacement, not a receipt.

I suggest that anyone looking into these headsets should not waste your money on them. If you're one of the fortunate whose never had these problems, 3 cheers for you.

"God Sound Quality but Fell Apart Within a Month", Yes, the sound quality was good, but these things fell apart after two weeks of normal use. The mic broke into two pieces and one of the earpieces also started to come apart. So far no luck getting a new pair through warranty on their website.

"V-", As described, these are not in retail packaging and include the headset and three pairs of white silicone earbud inserts, one each in small, medium, & large.

The sound quality of this headset far surpasses that of the Apple iPhone wired headset for music listening and it also provides better noise isolation which is nice for voice calls. This is mostly due to the fact that it is an in ear design wheras the Apple headset has earbuds which rest outside of your ear.

Unfortunately, the click button was poorly designed and is not as tactile as the Apple headset which makes it much harder to use when double or tripple clicking.

Overall this headset makes a nice addition to every iPhone user's bag of accessories, but unfortunately I just don't find that it replaces my Apple headset 100% of the time like I was hoping it would.
