"Great Tax product", As always, Turbo Tax is a great help for tax prep. I was stumpped for a few minutes when I couldn't retrieve my 2006 taxes, but read the directions and downloaded online info from Turbo online 06, then loaded in 2007 Turbo tax program( Disc this year). "Not worth it!", I tried this for the first time and, while it did not allow deductions for my wife's education expenses, did indicate a refund of $630. I took my taxes to a CPA and had them done and got a return of $2,900! I also paid $40 to have my Turbo Tax reviewed on line and they verified the return as accurate. Almost a very costly mistake to trust this software.

"Great tool", I was able to do my own long form taxes and amend a friend's tax return. Invaluable! Love the constant updates. It's just a shame our tax code is such a convoluted mess that we taxpayers need products like this.

"Top Rate ", One of my buddies bought a cheap-o tax software for 2 bucks at the local cheap-o electronics store. Then he complained about being ripped off because it was full of bugs and errors. Funny, huh? I laughed at him, too.

TTax 2007 is another top-rate tax product from the folks at Intuit. Clear, simple, intuitive, and accurate, I enjoy this series of tax software year after year. I, honest-to-goodness, feel like as though someone is sitting in the room with me guiding me through my taxes.

"2007 Turbotax Review", I thought this version of Turbotax would complete my Schedules for stock sales, interest and divident reporting. But this deluxe version of Turbotax didn't include some of the features needed to make this easier and offered an online upgrade to the Premium version which did include the features (for automatically downloading account files). I ended up ordering the upgrade, which worked fine -- but cost me another $40 or so. This is clearly a bait and switch routine by Turbotax -- wish they'd have more honest marketing/pricing -- this was the only thing I didn't like about the product.

Read this reviews before You buy...

"TurboTax Deluxe Federal w/e-file", Product presented no technical glitches, was straightforward and instructions mostly quite easy to follow. My tax return was fairly uncomplicated, having only a couple of "issues" (pension income, medical deductions) to deal with. From taking the CD-ROM out of the box to finishing the electronic filing of my return with the IRS took less than an hour. The amount of my refund was a little less than I had hoped it would be, but the price for TurboTax was a lot more reasonable than what my nationally advertised "people" charged me the year before to do my return. I'll probably use TurboTax again next year.

"Awesome!", I've used Turbo Tax Deluxe Federal and State for the past 2 years with no issues. However, this year the cost of e-filing went up and coupled with the price of the software is just too much in my opinion to spend. Based on some recommendations here, I purchased Turbo Tax Deluxe Federal Version (only) with Free e-file and since my state has a website to do the state taxes for free, I opted to do that. I am so glad that I read the reviews here because I never even knew that my state offered the ability to do my state taxes online .. and for Free! I couldn't be happier about the savings! As always Turbo Tax was fairly easy to use (took about an hour) and as it turns out my State taxes were easy too (took about 20 minutes).

1. Make sure your state offers the ability to do your taxes online and for free before purchasing this program.
2. Make sure you file your federal taxes first.
3. Then you can move on to your state taxes.

Side Note: In the state of Indiana, in order to do your state taxes on their website, it was required that I had filed Indiana state taxes in the previous year (this does not mean using their online ability last year, it just means I either mailed them in or efiled some other way for the state of Indiana). If your state offers the ability to do your taxes online, read their FAQ section to make sure you qualify to use their service before you purchase this product.

"TurboTax Deluxe with E-File", I have used TurboTax for over 10 years. It is an excellent tax preparing product. Two features of this version make it a great value. 1) "It's Deductibile" shows you how to make the most out of charitable deductions, and has saved us several hundred dallars in taxes. 2) "E-File" included costs less than buying it seperately and makes direct deposit of our return in less than two weeks.

"TurboTax-2008", I have been using TurboTax for years and have found products to be very good. I would like them to stick to similar formats from year to year but I suppose one cannot do that and claim progress.

"Makes taxes ALMOST fun", How great can a tax prep software title be, really? All I can say is that this program walked me through my return in plain english with fairly simple questions. It automatically figures out where things go on the appropriate forms. And, I have to admit, the running total of your return/amount owed is fun to watch. Allows you to see the difference in your refund if you add $5000 to an IRA. I wasn't sure I was going to do that this year, but after seeing the tax implications, I'm heading down to Fidelity. The program worked well (altho it couldn't find my W-2 info online...not sure this is the program's fault, and it's no big deal to enter it manually from your stub), it answered questions I had during the process, and e-filed my return flawlessly. Got the whole thing done in about an hour. Recommended.
