"Sansa Clip is a great value"
For the price, and only needing to have 300-500 songs at any given time, the Sansa Clip 2GB is an excellent MP3. The clip style makes it easy to use at the gym, when travelling, yardwork, etc. No need to have an elastic strap or pouch for it. Easy to use and illuminated, crisp screen.

"Sansa Clip is Excellent"
This product was easy to set up, is easy to use, has excellent sound quality, and has more than enough storage capacity for my needs. I use it at the gym, in the car (through car stereo), and at the office (with a speaker set) and it is perfect in all environments. It is even smaller than I expected it to be, which is very convenient. Radio reception is excellent as well. I have not found any aspect of it that I am unhappy with, after about three weeks of use. I would not hesitate to recommend this product.

"Great Product"
This little mp3 player is great! I got it for my mother, who is admittedly not amazing with computers and gadgets, and she figured it out almost instantly. The simple interface and small form factor are great for people who just want a music-player-thingy. The 2GB size is also decent for people who have smallish music collections.

"Awesome workout MP3 player"
This is an incredible MP3 player, especially for working out/running. It's very, very light, has a built in clip (hence the name) so you can clip it on to your waistbelt, pocket, etc.

Controls are very easy & simple, so when you're on the road it's easy to flip through albums, playlists etc.

I've been used to using armbands & covers for most of my players, especially on outdoor runs, but this little baby really doesn't need anything...it's very small & light and clips on very securely...just get yourself a good pair of headphones. I recommend Sennheiser PMX70 Sport Line Stereo Neckband Headphones...odd color but great for runners

"Bad Product - Does Not Work At All - Waste of Money"
I originally bought 2 of this product in Sep 2008 to be used as birthday gifts. However, since they did not arrive in time, I decided to use them for Christmas gifts. So, after a frustrating few days, here's where I am: Does not turn off; Gets stuck on "Refresh Database"; Says music folder is EMPTY even after I manage to get music loaded. This is the most awful MP3 player I have encountered. A complete waste of money and time!! Do not buy this product.

What our customer's say!

"Very Happy!", I have always used a sansa for my MP3/MP4 players because they work so great! Way better than an IPod! I have recently lost my sansa after having it for over 3 years so I purchased this one. It is very good! I love the size of it (very small), and I love the clip because you can clip it anywhere (very convenient). I wasn't too thrilled when I found out I couln't slid through the songs (I had to click through them) or when I couldn't see all the songs on the screen.

"great mp3 player.very small n BIG sound. holds around 200 songs", great mp3. very small n BIG sound. holds around 200 songs, plays the radio and u can record stuff including whats on the radio. it might not b a 80 GB i pod(which i own) but i kinda want one. bought 2 of them for younger sisters n thei happy even though it dosent hold 20,000 songs like mine. grat product, great prive, A+. just now askd my sister what she can say about her mp3 player n she responded, "i love it"

"Outstanding MP3 player", I owned a couple of i-pods before I bought this product. This product has what i-pod lacks basically FM and voice recorder. I liked the sound quality and intuitive menu. Also you can delete a song from the menu, you can record FM. Transferring music is very easy and don't require and proprietary software like itunes. All in all I am very impressed with this player.

"SanDisk Sansa Clip 2 GB ", This was a Christmas gift for my husband. He is an avid exerciser (walking and stationary bike riding). He LOVES this MP3 player. This will replace a 30 GB iPod, which he says is too heavy and bulky. This thing is tiny and featherlight! He clips it to his shirt sleeve and says he doesn't even know it is there. He has downloaded almost 500 songs into it (it's the 2 GB Clip), which he says is more than he'll ever need. It also has a FM radio that gets great reception. He doesn't like the ear buds that came with it, but the ones from his iPod work just fine with the Clip. Amazon had a terrific price, and I received it within a week with free shipping.

"Great MP3 player for the novice!", Easy to use and download songs onto. Clip is nice to use for workout.
Doesn't have all the bell and whistles but who uses them anyway.

"Perfect audio player for my needs.", I've owned this product, the Sandisk Sansa 'Clip' 2GB, for roughly a year now. It works wonderfully, setting the device up initially was a breeze. I just took it out, charged it up, and it was ready to go. I had initially bought it as a Christmas gift for someone else, but ended up liking it so much that I kept it and got them something different.

While I do not like the idea of a radio tuner with "presets" rather than a slider dial, it does pick up local radio stations pretty well. I have never used the voice recorder feature. It doesn't have video or photo capability, but at this size and for this incredible price, I wouldn't expect it.

Battery life, well, I've not once had the battery run "dead". I'm usually pretty good about keeping stuff charged. I think the lowest I've ever seen the marker was 47%. I tend to keep it up near 100% if I think to charge it up, but if I forget it doesn't go down much. I've left it on by accident for hours before, so I think unless you really forget, you will like the battery power. It charges by USB, which is convenient, and standard I guess. A wall charger might be "nice", but with the life this player has, it's nowhere near necessary.

2 gigabytes won't hold your entire CD collection, but it is enough space for several hundred songs. I think the most I've had on it at one time was about 300, but I am constantly changing my playlist. Typically between 250 and 300 songs are on the player at any one time.

The "clip" does just that. It clips to a sleeve, collar, pocket, whatever you want it to. I find it very portable, lightweight, and very convenient. I do not use the buttons much at all, but they are well-placed. I can turn it on, hit a button, and hear music in about 2 seconds.

One thing I do like, is the lockout button. No chance of accidentally turning it on with this feature, great for travel or if you have it banging around in a pocket or purse all day.

My one complaint I have, when you charge it, or transfer files, as you remove it from a USB port it powers on automatically. So, I then have to go through the effort of turning it off. Not much effort, but I would like to have it just remain off when I remove it from charging.

The display is "cute", and easy to navigate menus once you get the hang of things. I don't mess with the settings much, but it's not difficult to move from menu to menu. It can take you maybe 5 to 10 minutes to get your bearings, if you don't bother reading instructions. This of course will depend on how tech-inclined you are. I'm no genius, and I was up and running very fast.

Form factor. It's very light, and compares with a matchbox. Sleek shape, cool styling. The clip fits nicely in your hand, and if you clip it to your shirt or pants, you will not really notice it's there, aside from the ear bud wires of course.

Overall, I have tried "iPods", Sony gadgets, and various "no-name" devices. I don't see why anyone pays what Apple is asking when the Sandisk (at least this one) gives me what I need, and doesn't break on me. One reason I didn't go with another Apple player, I have had several break, and I have friends who have also had theirs break easily. The screen usually, although other problems have happened. Ths Sansa Clip has not failed to function once in the time I've owned it. I've had other players screw up in a month.

Give this player a try, I did, and I'm 100% happy.

"excellent beginner MP3 for exercise", I purchased this MP3 for working out at the gym. I used previous recommendations since this would be my first MP3 player. It is very small, simple & inexpensive. Good starter player. However, the Rhapsody software would not work, used Windows media player instead. It did not work to just drag & drop files. Once I learned how to put music on the player it is a simple process. The ear buds that it came with have excellent sound but they would not stay in my ears very well. The clip does tend to come apart from the player easily.

"Short-lived beauty", The Sansa Clip had all of the features I wanted, so I ordered it directly from SanDisk. It was easy to drag and drop load and it worked fine for a couple of weeks when the screen went blank. Without screen guidance, I was able to funble around and finally find the "play" and "FM" modes so I know it works otherwise.

One of the other posts said he didn't spend time getting his defective unit to work since it was cheap. That's how I feel. I can use it for file transfer like a thumb drive so it isn't a total loss. Some day when my frustration threshold is high, I'll contact SanDisk and try to get something resolved.

"Fantastic device minor flaws", After using both a 2gb clip and a 4gb clip for several months now, (gave my 2gb clip to my girlfriend and replaced it with a 4gb clip) I am extremely pleased and satisfied. This was bought for replacement of a broken ipod, mostly for gym use.

Pros - Incredible Sound, extremely light, size, screen, price, supports exporting playlists
Cons - not instant on (takes several seconds to load up when turned on), requires a firmware update to use

Overall - excellent device buy it, you will not be disappointed

"I'd price it at $25. 'Nice if it had games.", Yes, you can hold 1000 songs. 1000 WMA songs, that is. WMA is another unworthy compressed music format that, when converted to, degrades the quality of the original source audio(lossy file compression for audio files). But, if you are a real person that exists and you only tolerate clear, high quality audio, you only get little over 450 songs.

You obviously get no video playback. But it'd be nice if they had put some sort of simple game to play on this, like Pong. Or maybe even turn it horizontally for a little Tetris action.

This product was worth the money while it was still $30 here on amazon. Great sound quality. I can ride on the loud New York City subway trains, put the volume at about 80$, and drown out the clang, clatter, loud groups of school kids, and crying babies of the train.

I recommend buying different headphones. The included ones just don't go as loud or drown out the noise like these:JVC HAF130A Portable Gummy Earbud Headphones ( Mint Blue ) And plus, those plain black headphones with the sponge around them just aren't cool.

Batter life is unsurprisingly great. It better had been. I haven't listened to this thing straight long enough to know the exact battery life, but after about 5 hours, the battery meter is a little less than half empty. USB charging, as normal.

The user interface is superfluous, like all of Sansa's mp3 players. Like going back to the full song list, for instance, requires a 2 clicks, instead of 1 like the ipod, which gets really annoying sometimes.

The screen is very easy to read. Navigation through extensive song lists is manageable(you have to press and hold the buttons).

It can read Windows Media playlists! But, sadly not Itunes playlists.I like using Itunes to make those really cool Genius playlists, which are made up of songs that Apple's database thinks "goes great together". But there are a few freeware applications you can use to very easily export your itunes to WM playlists. (hint hint)

It really is an Accessory. You can literally wear it. I wouldn't want to show off that cheap little thing, though, unless you don't have a reputation to uphold.

Another plus is being able to record directly from off any radio channel you are listening to. The radio only goes goes up to 105.1FM, instead of the full band at 108.0FM. But, who really listens to radio enough to even care? It gets a little static-y, though. But you can't really blame a device this small and of such low voltage.

The built-in microphone is like "eh". I think the just wanted another gimmick to make people think that its a great buy, not that it isn't.

Great product, overall. I'd recommend the 4GB model, though,SanDisk Sansa Clip 4 GB MP3 Player (Silver) even if the silver paint makes it look even more cheap, like all products painted silver. 'Hope this extensive review helped. A nice, fitting silicon case will do good, too.Dual Silicone Skin Set for 1, 2, and 4GB Sansa Clip - Red & Yellow

**What is it with that silver paint on electronics, anyways? It's so played out...
