"Halo 3 CD" The two cd set is great! It is literally the game soundtrack. I only gave it four stars instead of five because none on the songs have lyrics like the Halo 2 Soundtrack. Otherwise, the music is really excellent!
"Halo 3 Soundtrack" I have to hand it bungie. Their previous game soundtracks have been good, but nothing like this.
**AWESOME MUSIC**
"Great, Ambient Soundtrack" Halo 3's soundtrack is definitely the most epic of the trilogy. While the music steadily built from this single, title screen Gregorian chant-like, ethereal choir from the first game, the final game's music just added to this with even MORE orchestral score and dramatic finished. Add to that the smooth, almost tribal ambient music and sounds that play throughout the game, and you have a rather emotional experience on a CD. I loved the music while playing the game, and it was just as great without actually playing (almost).
"Awesome Driving Music, Halo 3" Halo 3 Original Soundtrack (2-CD Set) I own ALL of the Halo soundtracks and they live on my Zune and in my 6-disc in-dash CD changer. The whole family loves this music and can relax on long or short rides to shop, work, school, or play. I rate this almost as high as any John Williams music but instead of feeling like you're hangin' out with Luke and Darth Vader, Harry Potter, ET or the Dino's, you're riding along with Master Chief, Johnson, the Arbiter and Cortana.
Get it, you won't regret it.
Halo 2, Vol. 2 Halo 2, Vol. 1 Halo: Original Soundtrack
"Awesome Soundtrack... and I've never played the Halo series" That's right. Halo 1, 2, 3, I've never played. I picked this soundtrack up on a whim at WalMart and I haven't regretted it.
Even in the softer pieces, there's an energy that just doesn't quit it. It's a soundtrack for your own day-to-day life which isn't far from tactical combat.
This is the soundtrack of a company of soldiers in a grueling campaign trying to hit hard while conserving strength. I think all of us can relate.

What our customer's say!
"3rd disc, 3rd best, but still good.", Although i think this edition of game score is my least favorite of the three I still enjoyed it. Having two discs of content is great but it just feels like they stretched it out to much. Music doens't flow quite as well as the other two editions. All in all it has some issues IMO but I still like it and the HALO music has been wonderful and epic from the begining.
"If you liked the soundtracks from Halo 1 and Halo 2...", Don't waste your money on the soundtrack for Halo 3. All the good stuff is on the first two soundtracks. There's nothing here that makes me want to play a track over and over and over like "Brothers in Arms" from Halo 1 or "Unyielding" from Halo 2.
Halo 3 is a remix of the good parts of the first two and a lot of it sounds like its done with a synthesizer; makes for good filler.
There doesn't seem to be a connection between the tracks of this soundtrack and the game (which I really like); just random bits of different tracks all strung together. For example, when I hear the track "Lament for Private Jenkins", I can picture the Master Chief catching Jenkins body when it falls thru the door. Nothing like that here.
This soundtrack is good for background music just to have something playing.
To say I'm disappointed with this product doesn't do justice to the word "disappointed".
"New life in old melodies", You know music is great if it gives you goosebumps and chills down your spine. That's what happened to me when I listened to the Ending suites. Marty and Mikey did a fantastic job polishing and rearanging old and new music for this, the final game in the Halo trilogy.
Let's not forget the packaging either. The two disc case has the classic look of the previous releases yet with a bit of a darker feel. The Arbiter and Master Chief adorn the first disc and The Chief and Cortana adorn the second disc, both discs featuring the characters in a dull shadowy color to keep with the dark mood.
In short, there isn't much here that I don't like. I highly recomend.
"You: OOH! I know that! Disc 1 track 12!", The above title describes what you say while playing the game after listening to this CD. Pretty soon you'll be freaking out your buddies by mock conducting it and saying dun dun da-da-da-daaa dun to the tune. Besides that, the music is awesome! Great orchestral music in a great FPS (First Person Shooter for you non-gamers) If you're thinking "Video game music? There's a CD for that now?" You are the biggest n00b in history.
"Very Satisfied", Not only are the CDs everything I was hoping for and more, I got a good deal for them. Plus they were shipped and received promptly.

"A little bad, A lot good.", The Halo 3 soundtrack was an amazing 2 Disc set that did recapture the game. The few bad parts of the set was that Martin O'Donnell redid a little too much and didn't add enough original work. And he also didn't include one track from the game that appears on the final stage Halo when walking up the ramps to where Guilty Spark opens the door. I was pretty angry because I loved that track but other than that, the music included on the CD's was outstanding and definitely captured my attention.
"Amazing, yet re-treads way too much", First, lets get the bad out of the way. The huge problem with the Halo 3 soundtrack, is that it re-treds over previous territory too often. In the original Halo game OST, Martin and Michael both created a body of work that was made to be memorable and had the ability to stick with you outside of the game, which is part of the reason why the soundtracks are so great to listen in the first place. Halo 2 took a few of those great ideas and inter-meshed them perfectly in an abundant amount of new ideas. Halo 3 flat out has too many re-workings of the previous two and does not create enough new pieces to give it its own identity.
Almost every track presented here on the Halo 3 soundtrack contains an idea or element used in the previous scores. The opening cue, "Luck", uses a vocal line from "Impend" off Halo 2 as does "Released". The Re-constructed Halo 04 Installation/Johnson's Death Theme, both use the melody used in "Under Cover Of Night" from the original Halo soundtrack. On top of that, there are a total of 8 remake tracks (mostly done with a larger orchestra), not counting the Halo theme or other subtle hits. Don't get me wrong, these all sound great, but I think they just over did it with the remakes. There are many points in the game where I would have rather of heard something new and exiting, not an obvious re-tread of what I have already heard. Yet, with what new material there is, we are given some great stuff.
For fans of "Pursuit of Truth" off the Halo 2 soundtrack, Halo 3 soars in it's new electronic pieces. "Another Walk", "Infiltrate", "Move On", and "We're Done Here" (a fast paced version of Delta Halo's theme from the Halo 2 score) are all incredible pieces of work. "Keep What You Steal", "Greatest Journey", and "Roll Call" all succeed in giving me huge chills. "To Turn A Tide" introduces a forceful string march, while "Duty Bound" introduces a new sound not heard in the previous scores. The finale, "Wake Me Need Me" is when Marty and Co. really put the nail on the head. I cannot express how perfectly it fits as an ending, just about bringing me to tears listening to it.
As far as the album presentation, considering these pieces are being sequenced as they appeared in the game, Martin has done a very nice job in mixing them. At least for the first disc. It's the second disc where many of the ideas from the first disc are repeated and a few of the tracks just aren't played long enough! Some are so short, I wonder why they where even included.
Despite it's re-treads and few missteps, there really is no reason to not buy this. If you are a fan of the Halo scores or just like good music in general, pick this up. NOW!
"Good Soundtrack", Once again a good soundtrack. One of the big pluses besides getting to blow aliens away is the great soundtrack. It's actually very relaxing. Worth the money.
"Better than Great", I own all the Halo soundtracks, the second one wasn't all that great, which is why I was a little cautious about buying this one. Was I wrong, this soundtrack just makes you feel like you're playing the game all over again, it is the best of OST of the 3. It's just great, buy this if you like the other soundtracks.
"Review", It is pretty accurate and nice to listen to. I find myself playing it over and over for hours while I do my homework.
