"Decent, but with one giant flaw"
I was really excited about getting this mouse when I first heard of it. I mainly wanted it to use the thumb hat for movement in games. I got mine but within just a couple of hours the left direction on the hat lost its "click". I had to press hard on it to get it to respond, which of course ruined the ergonomics of the thing.

I was assured this was an isolated case though and thanks to Amazon's great replacement policy I soon had a new mouse to play with. This one lasted a while longer, about two weeks, but then it developed the exact same problem. I have to come to the conclusion that the hat buttons just can't stand up to extended use. I'm very disappointed because I've owned Saitek joysticks and throttles for many years and never had a problem with them.

Other than that problem the mouse is decent. The expanding size function is a neat trick and can help the mouse fit better in your hand. The programming software is really powerful and I like having multiple profiles, as well as being able to switch button functions between 3 sets with one button press. But ultimately I can't have a mouse whose buttons stop working after a short time. Especially when my years-old MX 1000 performs exactly the same as the day I bought it.

"Not bad"
I got this mouse a couple of days ago, and so far it's great. I'm used to the programming software by now from another Saitek purchase, but I can concur that it's got a steep learning curve.

As mice go, this has got everything but tilt scrolling, tho to be honest my last mouse did have tilt scrolling and I didn't even bother reinstalling the drivers after a HDD crash; it just wasn't that appealing.

I've only got two gripes:
A) the scroll wheel is still pretty tight even at its lowest setting (there are three levels of scroll stiffness)
B) There is a glider foot at the back of the mouse that catches on the edge of the (admittedly small) mousepad I have.

The first of the problems is just a matter of getting used to it. The second, will require a new mousepad purchase. I think I'll get a much larger mousing surface to compensate for the foot. Also, no cloth mousepads need apply - the same foot drags on the cloth and snags it.

"nice mouse"
motorized length adjustment, great for big hands.the dpi is slower than saitek gm3200 for some reason, both 3200 dpi,but this mouse is a little slower.

"customizable to the max"
intro: i am a PC gamer and i bought this mouse as a replacement for my logitech optical track-man...

The first impression:
packaging is simplistic and the mouse comes out easy, no real flair for the box, mouse installs without a problem- software based instructions for installation are clear and concise, mouse wise its covered in ultra soft and smooth plastic-rubber, main body features gloss black trim- under side is hard plastic with a great finish, usb cord has a nice length to it and is gold tipped, buttons feel intact and tight, overall the product as a whole does not come off a cheap gimmick but rather as good quality for the money..

Function:
mouse has on its under side a scroll force switch to allow for quick or ultra precise scrolling-more for FPS weapons switching rather than web surfing..
switch is also tightly locked in place and recessed so it stands
little chance of ever being moved on accident-
also same goes for sensor bay, its recessed as well-

Top Side the big thing to note here are all the extra buttons:
you have a 4 way d-pad, then the thumb switch and then the angular forwards and backwards buttons: all of which are fully programmable to take key board keys or command sequences across 3 different mode switch's (top clear button with the cyborg head does this), I would say 21 possible key configurations at a min-, also the software features the ability to create keyboard macros for these mouse buttons.. Moreover, all of this can be neatly organized into profiles to meet the demands of any game-profiles are enabled through the cyborg active system tray icon..in windows.

Another huge thing with this mouse is that's it has the ability to elongate or shorten it self- there is a built in motor in the mouse and through the software you can adjust as to what size-down to the millimeter, you want your mouse to be. Also through the same menu you can change the sensitivity, weight wise its not super light or heavy..it about standard..

Performance:
Good: software is solid, mode switching with fully programmable keys adds a whole new realm of hyper customization, keys are quick and responsive, mousing is accurate and precise and this is further aided by customizable sensitivity, the finish and mouse shape + possible size make it quite pleasing to the hand, glides extremely well on flat hard surfaces..

CONS: the right leading edge of the mouse is a bit "crisp" as it is not rounded, on a fabric padded surface, you can almost catch an edge if you apply enough pressure, its also surface finicky-granted it will track on just about any thing cause it's a laser mouse, but it needs a good precise slick and hard mousing surface to be truly effective -also the software can be annoying at times as profile enabling for a mouse just is another thing to remember (when you have the mouse and the cyborg keyboard and a belkin N52/N52TE its like performing a preflight checks sometimes..)
Also instructions for key programming are not clear or even existent, that if you have never used programmable mode switching or used a device like the Belkin Speed Pad- N52/N52TE, then all of it will take some tinkering to figure out how it works..
Also my biggest complaint would be the forward angled button, its difficult push and counter intuitive as you have to push against and away to the left with your thumb..
Also the scroll wheel, while being awesome in gaming (what its designed for), lacks the free flowing goodness that allows you to fly down a web page in a single swoop...also while having a size motor in your mouse is awesome- it begs the question of longevity..will the motor and gearing in the mouse last?..only time will tell for that one..

In the end:
Overall, I really like this mouse, it plays well in anything from GOW to COD4 to RB6V, and it has customizable glory to the max, but its not totally prefect. I would recommend this mouse as a secondary mouse for gaming, but not really for constant daily grind use.

What our customer's say!

"Power Mouse", This is the Hard Core Gamers Mouse, Totally customizable, including the size of the mouse, thats right it has a means of expanding or shrinking to fit the users hand and its motorized to do so. Lots of customizable function buttions, So if your a hard core Gamer or a hard core Geek, this mouse will suite you.

"Sleek & sturdy", Pros:
This mouse is perfect for gaming but also for using Windows. Since you can program multiple profiles, you can switch between a gaming/non-gaming profile in a snap at the taskbar. Try programming up, down, left and right commands for the corresponding buttons on the 4-way hat switch, and ALT+F4 as the thumb button. This makes surfing the web and through files a breeze. The weight of the mouse is perfect, and the ability to control the laser sensitivity and scroll wheel resistance is also very nice.

CONS:
A little noisy but not much.

"Great mouse.. almost too good", I just bought this mouse because i have the Cyborg keyboard and i wanted the mouse that goes with it. I must say that i am very impressed with the mouse, it is very comfortable to use and the size changing mouse will fit any hand. The extra buttons on the left are designed to that you can easily push any of them when needed(great for gaming). I use these buttons allot when I am in my server that i own for [G-Land]. One thing i do have to say though is that at full resolution the mouse is so sensitive that it picks up on the dust particles on the desk. All together though i think this is one of the best gaming mouses on the market

"Sensitive right mouse button", I'm sure it is due to the way I hold my mouse (sort of in a claw grip), but I was always accidentally right clicking when using this mouse. This made the mouse nearly useless to me due to the amount of unintentional right clicking I was doing.

"Powerful Programmability", This is my first Saitek mouse. I've been a Logitech user for more than a decade. My last mouse was a Logitech G5 Laser Mouse (931376-0403), but i wanted something with more programmable buttons.

The programming software: is really powerful. You can customize every button to do from macros, multiple key presses, simple keystrokes and more. Also, you can program 3 sets of commands (RED, GREEN, YELLOW) which you can change on the fly at anytime, which will change the color of the button to the programmed color set.

Multiple buttons: three thumb buttons, plus the regular three on top, plus the four-way hat switch, which also is a button itself, for 11 programmable buttons.

Comfort: Adjustable size a very nice feature, since you can adjust length, making it viable for small-large hands alike. Although i do find Logitech designs much more comfortable, specially on the thumb.

Summary: Adjustable size, powerful programming features and many buttons to program. A great addition to any gamers gear.
