"Very neat way to count down Christmas", Talk about a neat advent calendar! We were very confused, however, upon opening the box as to what to do with this set. We actually are rocket scientists here and since there were no instructions, you have to flim-flam around until you figure out the picture. Anyway, upon opening the box, there is a beautiful Christmas scene with the Lego city boats transporting numerous Christmas trees. Behind each door is a picture of what is supposed to be built for the day, and it's quite fun plowing through the assortment of toys to find out what comes next. It's just very neat to make the town come alive with Christmas and my only complaint is that they don't have the actual City buildings, etc. so you can actually put characters, buildings, etc. with this and then light it up. Guess that's for my engineering friends.... Anyway, grab this set, you WON'T be disappointed!

"Great fun for the family", My boys (5 & 7) were so excited about this. I will definitely do another kit next year. If you have Lego kids, this will be a fun advent activity.

"Enjoyable surprise for 24 Days!", My nine-year old had lots of fun discovering a toy every day for 24 days. As other reviewers have mentioned, it would be better if more of the items were holiday-related, but my child can always find use for any type of Legos so overall this was a good item. The items are "City" type Legos. Some parts are very small so I would not recommend this for very young children.

"fun for everyone", It was awesome. My son,8, looked forward to opening a door each day. I thought the amount of Legos and specialized pieces made it a fair price.
I will warn, however, that Amazon did not send this out in time for the first day of Advent. It came on Dec 7th for us, about two weeks after I ordered it. I really thought it would have come sooner than that. So preplan!

"Great Advent Calendar", 5 yr-old son loved getting a treat each morning as he counted down the days to Christmas. Works great with his other Lego City toys.

"A nice calendar", This calendar was given to our 3, almost 4 year old. It is a fun calendar with a lot of fun lego surprises in it. I think my son was a little too young for it because the pieces are so small it was hard for him to put together. He normally plays with the Lego Duplo pieces that are a bit bigger. A fun calendar if your kid likes Lego, but I would say for 5 and older.

"LEGO FANS...Unite!", ...but seriously, if your child loves Legos, this is an awesome advent!! My youngest child is in to Littlest Pet Shop, so I bought her that advent calendar and my oldest (6 1/2) this one. BIG DIFFERENCE-lol! The Littlest Pet Shop will not be purchased again-it was really bad : ( But this set has been an awesome treat for both kids. Everyday they rush to wake up and brush their teeth (with out being told!) so that they can find out what new Lego's they get to play with that day. Next year I'm buying early so I can get in on the Lego Princess version for my youngest-I feel so bad for her sucky Littlest Pet Shop Advent-such a let down. I'm glad that they are both enjoying this one : ) Little do they know, Santa's bringing MORE LEGOS on Christmas-hehehe!

"Disappointing", This item had so much promise. I had high hopes, my eight year old had high hopes...what better way to anticipate Christmas but with Legos! And a teeny lego kit a day. A huge city was on the side of the box, and I warned my son that there was no way an entire city could fit into those little boxes...or could it? November moved by very slowly.
Let me tell you what he opened: Day 13, A DUMPSTER (thats it!), Day 20, a trash can...because nothing says Christmas like a trashcan. He also got a barrel, a dolly, a computer, and other completely random things. These weren't things you put together either, these were just tiny plastic replicas. On the plus side (?) He got alot of little lego men, a janitor, a police man. But once again, with nothing to put together.
I don't understand the mishmash of items he got! I held my breah that first week or two, praying there was a grand plan to all these weird and completely unrelated items..would it build something? Did it have meaning? Unfortunately, on December 22nd I have decided no. This is a completely odd set, none of the pieces go together, and despite the misnomer of being a "lego" set, nothing snapped into anything else. Just plain strange.

"The best advent calendar ever!", We purchased this along with the girls version, Belville for our kids, and they absolutely love them! We always do an advent calendar, and this one is sure going to be hard to trump next year! Every morning they get up and first thing ask if they can open that days set. Each day there is either a small set to put together or a figure. My son is 8, but the small sets you get each day are easy enough for younger kids to put together and following the directions by themselves without getting frustrated, and still yet exciting enough for slightly older kids.
I definitely recommend this product!!

"Better than chocloate!", We purchased this for my two boys 3 and 4. This was a nice alternative for Chocolate advent calendars! You get a little toy to put together each day. Its usually a little man. There is usually 1 or 2 extra pieces with it, I guess in case you lose the other ones. I would reccommend this! But not for little ones.
