"Absolutely nothing new"
In terms of originality, this score receives two stars from me...perhaps one. This is a Media Ventures/Remote Control Productions score through and through, without any attempts to break the mold. Now, this type of scoring hasn't proliferated without reason; it certainly has a visceral hold--a strangling hold at times--on the listener. If you can ignore or simply have never heard the dozens of scores that came before it with extremely similar melodies, chord progressions, and styles of orchestration, I see little reason not to enjoy this score. I mean, in the brief moments when the power of the music overwhelms my memories of its kin, I do indeed enjoy it a lot. But it never lasts. I've heard enough of these to be barely impressed by another rehash of fun material that's been written for other films. More power to you if you can enjoy it. That's great! =D But I can't help finding it sadly amusing how little this type of score attempts to say anything that hasn't been said through music already, and I'm probably doomed to only truly enjoy the first few MV/RCP scores I ever heard.

"Great music to blow stuff up to"
A huge, epic sweeping score with explosive themes and incredible textures. If you like action movie music, it doesn't get much better.

"It Is Finally Here!"
Why, I wonder, did we need a petition to get this score released? It seems like someone somewhere would have listened to it and said; "As soon as we get this on the shelves, it will be selling like heck!"

Indeed, Steve Jablonsky hits the nail on the head with this more than worthy accompaniment to the 2007 hit flick. Each and every song contains hummable themes and epic orchestration. My personal favorites are the cello of "The All-Spark" and, of course, the "main theme" "Autobots."

I also find the final fifty seconds of "You're A Soldier Now," which features a souped-up version of Autobots, incredibly cool. This soundtrack is a must have!

"I love Steve Jablonsky's scores"
The music from the score is what makes the movie, and it is frickin' awesome. This is everything you wish they would include on the first released soundtrack, and I believe this wasn't going to be released until there was a demand for it. I think they released it from online petitions and public pressure, and boy was it worth it.

"Pretty good..."
What is a good score? Ultimately, what is a well written score? I'd say that would be music written in such a way that whenever one hears it played...they know exactly what movie it's from. That is one way to judge a film score. And what do you know..Steve Jablonsky did just that.
After seeing the movie in theatres...two thing stuck in my mind. The action and the score. The opening theme was very...I guess I could say addictive. After watching the movie, I know I always find myself humming the theme.
Jablonsky did a great job delivering a few memorable themes but this score is among the many of which posess the themes but not much substance. Other than the themes, a lot of the score is made up of filler music and background music. Not to say I blame him, I mean it is an action movie filled with clashing, exploding robots...why write ear-pleasing music for areas in the film where people can't really enjoy music let alone want to enjoy music? After all, a film score is, ultimately, written to fit the film. As part of the film, I must say, it's a fantastic job but set alone, Transformers is not in my top 10..but is worth listening to every once and a while.

What our customer's say!

"Perfect movie score by Steve Jablonsky", Steve Jablonsky, one of Hans Zimmer's composers and one of the brilliant masterminds alongside other major composers, now shares the same limelight with his score to the 2007 live-action, Steven Spielberg executive produced, Michael Bay-directed Transformers film.

Like the score, it provides the listener with a lot of perfect orchestral suites like "Autobots", "Decepticons", "Arrival to Earth", "Sam at the Lake", "Downtown Battle", "Soccent Attack" and others.

Even though it lists the tracks as "different versions", they were contained in the movie. No worries there.

If only Vince DiCola would rerelease his Transformers the Movie score for the general public. That would be a great companion along with Steve's current score album.

"Intense, Relentless, Inspiring, Heroic Film Music", If you're a fan of Hans Zimmer's film music, particularly Crimson Tide, Gladiator, and Batman Begins, you'll be a fan of this too. It has powerful echoes of all those films' music. Jablonsky does his very best Zimmer impression and pulls it off in a way that probably made Zimmer himself proud. Lots of music to enjoy here. (And if you've never heard of Hans Zimmer, start your familarization process with the soundtrack to Crimson Tide. The Zimmer phenomenon really began there.)

I downloaded the MP3 version, as this disc has inexplicably been discontinued and so costs around $99 dollars new on a cd. The MP3 version is definitely the way to go, with the only caveat being that the continuity between tracks is lost in a couple places because of the separate track downloading process. But it's a small wrinkle, and a small price to pay for a rousing, inspiring, heroic soundtrack that has become quite difficult to find at a reasonable price. But if you're an audiophile of the most discriminating taste, and you must have the continuity intact, and money is no object, you'll probably want to go with the CD version.

"Great music!", When I first heard the music while watching the movie I would've bet money it was Hans Zimmer (who I think is one of the best composers ever!). I hadn't heard of this composer before but this soundtrack will definately make me want to look up other stuff he's done.

"Great Score. Much better than the film", I wasn't that impressed with the Transformers movie, but I was totally enthralled by the score for the film & I find this cd definately enjoyable. While it certainly is a pulse pounding score there are quieter moments that are more circumspect. While it's not good enough to get into even my top 20, it's certainly up there in the good score section. Overall I'm totally pleased with this score.

"Like Gladiator but on a multi-lane highway", Play this in your car when you're trying to get somewhere in a hurry. Very dramatic, serious music that sounds like Gladiator.

"Amazing score!", I love this score, it was a shame they chose to release it so late after the movie but pretty nifty how it came out the same time as the DVD. But I never once saw it in stores. What gives? I also saw people are selling it for $130.? Please. Thank you Amazon for the digital download for $14. :)

"Score!", I love film scores and over the years I've collected quite a few from many composers. I would rank this particular score in my top ten favorites of all time. I love it. I live in a fairly large city and it's great music to listen to while clipping along on the freeway amidst the tall buildings. Just be sure to keep a watchful eye in the rearview mirror for that Decepticon skating up behind you.

All the tracks are fantastic! No weak moments on this one.

"Amazing", The music in this movie is incredible. It is so intense and full of emotion, I use it to study. It helps me focus and it is so relaxing. I love Steve Jablonsky--I also have his soundtrack to The Island, and it is fantastic. I highly recommend it.

"Love it!", I love the movie so much that I have to get the score CD. Everytime I listen to it, it reminds me of the entire movie playing in my head. Love it!

"fabulous transformer music", a must for any transformer or orchestral music score fan! the music gives an emotional backdrop to the story, highly recommended!
