Others say...
"Great Addition for my D300!" I can't say too much more about this item than what has already been said. It is a great addition to my D300 and I can't really imagine doing serious shooting without it.
What NEEDS to be said, however is that YOU DO NOT NEED THE BL-3 BATTERY CHAMBER COVER or the EN-EL4(a) battery to pull of 8fps! The MB-10 comes with an extra battery cartridge for 8AA batteries which WILL give you 8fps. Save yourself $40 for the chamber cover, $100 on the EN-EL4(a) battery, and $100 on the EN-EL4 battery charger. Invest $30 in a good set of rechargable AAs. Sure, it's a littler heavier, but I'd rather save $200+.
"Excellent Grip" I didn't think I needed this grip before. At some point I decided to get one, mainly because I do a lot of portrait work. I am so glad I picked this up. It really is more comfortable to hold it on the side when doing portraits instead of wrapping my hand over the top. It has a shutter release, AF-ON button, command and subcommand dials, and even a multi-selector. So you have access to the controls while holding the camera in the portrait orientation.
The battery tray slides out the side and you can switch between a tray that holds an extra EN-EL3e battery or a different tray that holds 8 AA batteries. If you use the 8 AA batteries then you get an extra couple frames per second. You can also purchase a tray for the EN-EL4a battery and use one of those if you want and get the extra frames per second that way.
Anyhow, this grip was a great addition to my kit and I completely thrilled with it.
"Totally Necessary" If you own a D300/D700 and you shoot more than just the kids' soccer games, then you need this.
I use it with 8 NiMH AA Energizers because it seems more economical than the upgrade batter and plug (for me). Still shoots 8 fps with AAs.
If you shoot (semi)professionally, don't look around, don't buy the knock off, just hit "PURCHASE" then add overnight! You'll be glad you did.
"Turns your D700 into a better camera than a D3" Combine this with the EN-EL4 battery adapter and you basically have an updated D3. Works great, gives you the vertical grip extra shutter, selector dials and directional pad but doesn't add a ton of weight. Comes with battery adapters for AA bateries or another EN-el3 battery (the same as in the camera). I have taken pictures all day and still had plenty of battery left.
The only thing Nikon could do to improve this is to include the EN-EL4 battery adapter in the box.
"Works Great" This is a great extension to your camera. Not only does it give you two different batteries life, it also works as a holder for your camera. It makes camera a little heavy but you can really stabilize the camera with one hand on the bottom side of camera.
Works great would recommend to anyone!

What our customer's say!
"Great Grip!", Nikon MB-D10 Multi Power Battery Pack for Nikon D300 & D700 Digital SLR Cameras This is a great device. It extends camera function by giving an extra battery and is comfortable to hold. It does add weight, but the comfort/feel makes it worthwhile. Great product!
"If you shoot sports you need this.", This battery pack/verticle grip made my Nikon D300 perfect for sports photography. It adds extra weight and a convenient verticle grip for when I am shooting basketball. It also increases the frame rate to 8 frames per second. But do yourself a favor, and use the larger battery with it Nikon EN-EL4a Rechargeable Li-Ion Battery for MB-D10 Battery Pack and Nikon D2 and D3 Digital SLR Cameras which increases the number of shots you can take. You will also require the Nikon BL-3 Battery Chamber Cover for Nikon EN-EL4 and EN-EL4a for the MB-D10 because it does not come with the MB-D10, although it should.
"D300 Second Battery", Makes the D300 really heavy but its worth it. I also have a D40 for when I don't want to lug around the weight.
"Review #1", This was a birthday present for my son. It is exactly what he wanted for his Nikon D700.His birthday is today and I'm sure he will be pleased.
"Exellent Grip", I've now had my grip for a few months and have used it with my D300 and currently with the D700. I love the flexibility that the grip provides. It allows you to easily shoot in portrait orientation, of course provides longer battery life, and gives some heft and balance to the D300/700 body, which helps give you a more solid/stable body to handle. Yes, it does add weight, but when you want to go light, you don't use it. But when I do go light, I do miss it! The grip is well constructed out of the same high quality magnesium allow as the camera bodies. There is also a good amount of rubber to grip, which increases comfort. If you are a sports shooter, you can increase the FPS of your D300/700 up to 8 (from default 5) by using 8AA batteries, or the ENEL4 battery (+ new chamber cover). I opted for a third party solution from eBay, the Phottix Cleon which accomplishes the same performance for a fraction of the price. To me this is a must have for D300/700 users. Enjoy!

Read this reviews before You buy...
"Get the right battery...", Maybe I was too eager, but I didn't realize the high-speed shutter advantage offered by this unit requires a different battery model - the EN-EL4.
I bought a second EN-EL3 (7.2v 1300mAh), which offers no boost in fps over the base unit. Only the EN-EL4 (11.1v 2000mAh) gives you the max fps.
Otherwise, I'm impressed with the quality and design.
"Nikon MB-D10 Power Pack does the job.", Bought this power pack along with a new Nikon D700.
The pack is simple, and works just fine.
"Most excellent", Eight frames/second and a vertical release makes my D-300 the king-of-the-hill as far as I'm concerned. I use Eneloop rechargable batteries and this combo ROCKS! I did have to get some bigger cf cards, as my old 2 gigs weren't getting it any more. So many good shots I have a hard time editing them all.
"you gotta have this grip for your d300/d700", what i like about this grip is that you can use it WITHOUT any batteries inside the grip's chamber as long as you have batteries inside your d300/d700 body....the grip is fully functional. because of this, i always have the grip attached and only put the batteries in the grip for extra juice to shoot 8fps.
"Essential Accessory for Extended Battery Capacity and Extra Speed", Like most photo accessories, the MB-D10 is essential IF you really need the features it offers. I'm not going to argue the justification for it's exorbitant price - let's face it, it's absurdly expensive. However, if you need expanded battery capacity and/or the extra speed it is capable of providing (using AA or the optional EN-EL4a battery), there really is no viable alternative.
I bought the MB-D10 for my D300 for a couple of reasons. While I don't particularly need the extra speed it is capable of providing, I do need the extra battery capacity and strongly prefer the additional grip surface area, which makes handling the camera with a 70-200 f2.8 attached a little easier and more stable. The additional weight it adds is fairly inconsequential in my opinion.
I use it primarily for outdoor sports photography, and while I could simply carry an extra battery or two with me, I like not having to worry about it running out in the midst of a shoot and potentially missing a shot. By default, the camera uses the MB-D10 battery first, then automatically switches to the camera battery. It provides the flexibility of powering the camera using AA batteries in an emergency. It also provides a vertical shutter release and additional auxiliary controls. I should also point out that unlike a few other reviewers, I have not found the shutter release on the MB-D10 to be any more sensitive than the one on the camera (I keep my camera in CH mode).
Pros: Minimal additional weight, very solid magnesium construction, very well designed battery compartment and release mechanism. Provides additional battery capacity, faster frames/sec., emergency AA battery functionality, vertical shutter release, and auxiliary controls.
Cons: Stupid expensive, neither the standard EN-EL3e nor the EN-EL4a battery is included, must remove the MB-D10 to access the camera battery.
Bottom line: Either your need for the MB-D10 justifies the cost or it doesn't. For $35 you can simply buy a second battery to carry. But if you need the flexibility of extended uninterrupted shooting, 8 frames per second speed, or simply prefer the additional grip area, this is a great accessory for your D300 or D700. I use it, love it, and have no regrets.
