"Very useful and excellent teaching tool"
This is outstanding for my graphics projects, proofing projects and also for the young hands that use it as well. The sturdiness of the product has kept it from potential damage due to rough usage by special needs children.

"Bamboo Fun is 5-star but involves learning"
Product delivered on time however delivery expectations from supplier longer than Amazon advertised (7 rather than 5 days). Bamboo Fun is a very nicely designed and fabricated product and the software appears extensive and was downloaded without problem. I followed an evaluation here that recommended the smaller pad size and it was good advice in my case; it is large enough for my more casual limited purposes and small enough to fit my computer desktop; anything larger would require larger arm movement. I'm using it to date as a mouse which is much smoother than my other mice I've ever used. Being 70 I no longer have the smooth hand motor movements so using the pen will require some practice; to date I've only used MS Paint which doesn't have a line smoothing feature that I understand exists in the supplied software. I recommend using the pen exercise described in the user manual to get a sense of control and to refine pen settings (I have the Pen Tablet Properties software as an icon on my desktop to facilitate making changes). The supplied software is a little intimidating at this point and I am reticent to put in the time to learn it.


"If I Could Give It Zero Stars I would"
This thing is a real POS!!!

My boyfriend got it for my for my birthday and I spent ALL night trying to install it on my Vista machine. Needless to say, I never got it installed. I tried everything I could, read all the help literature I could find and I got no where. All in all I got a 5 hour headache.

My computer is not the problem. I have countless other programs that run flawlessly and I am NOT working on a cheap machine.

I've owned a Wacom tablet before and I had nothing but problems with that one too. It randomly froze up while I was using it and that problem was never fixed (and I wasn't the only one with the problem, btw).

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PRODUCT!!!

I will NEVER again buy another Wacom product. The only thing these tablets have going for them is that they look nice. So that's where my one star rating comes in. It looks pretty. That's about it.

"Serious Fun, Great Break from Mouse"
After years of working with a mouse, I decided to try the new Bamboo Fun. After a very short time, I'm hooked.

The software installed on my Mac in minutes and I was up and running quickly. The pen is soooo cool. Just hover it over the pad (no need to touch the pad) and the cursor moves to where you want it to go. Single click, double click, drag and all mouse functions (and more) are available using the pen.

It's small enough to sit next to my Mac and it's really helped my tired wrists. While I'm not qualified to say scientifically that this will help wrist movement problems, it's sure a joy to have another means of moving the cursor and doing tasks without having to push a mouse around.

I've used this with Photoshop and love the tablet for the preciseness of movement.

Cons: I agree with some of the other reviewers - the mouse is ok, nothing special.

Pros: Easy software loading, nice footprint, looks cool, helps you do more faster (haha)

The pen is the real joy of this product and well worth the very reasonable price of the product. I'd recommend that you get it with software - the Adobe software is well worth the price difference. I use the professional version of Photoshop but find that Photoshop Elements can make things faster and simpler in some cases.

Get the Bamboo Fun and you'll open up a whole new world of expressing yourself.

"Great Cursor Control"
A great tool to let my fingers operate cursor controls more easily, therefore more accurately. Flat plane mouse control usually left errors that were hard to avoid and too tedious to fully correct. In my Photoshop Elements program I get better results in less time.
