"Good game"
Not the best Her Ineractive has ever produced, but still enjoyable. Not recommended for very young children because it had a very dark theme in it with voodoo. At times the game was confusing when switching between "Bess" and "Nancy" as there weren't additional clues to be found between characters.

"Great Game"
I love this game. I didn't enjoy all of the earlier nancy drew games but they've gotten better and better. This is one of the better games. If you like nancy drew you will love this game.

"Great Game!!!"
This game was very fun, but it might be too scary for smaller children. The puzzles were not the most challenging but still kept me busy. I own every game in the series and am a die-hard Nancy Drew fan. I wouldn't reccommend this game as a first Nancy Drew game, but it is still a great buy!

"ok...not great"
I had read so many rave reviews of the nancy drew series that perhaps I was expecting too much from the game. However, the game was fairly simple, with a few glitches, but honestly not all that consuming. It was just ok.

"Loved it"
We've played all of the HER interactive Nancy Drew Games and this was my absolute favorite. We play as a family -- this was a little scary for my youngest, but not terribly bad (they didn't like the wasps) All the puzzles are solvable within the game and none are too hard or need outside knowledge beyond the scope of a 10 year old -- except for the last which I could only solve by trial and error, but it only took a minute or two of trying to solve it. This is the first one that we haven't gotten hideously stuck with no idea of what to do next -- though it really helps to have played previous to know what sorts of puzzles are encountered.

Try it out, and for the puzzles, think a little outside the box!

What our customer's say!

"Did not work with my computer", I know they say it works with XP, but it really doesn't. I think those who have XP have to get an updated video card before playing this game. The newer mysteries won't work on one of my computers. The older mysteries work.

"More Than I Expected", I have every Nancy Drew game, because I think they are really interesting! The Legend of the Crystal Skull ended up being much better than I originally thought. It gives you a good feel for New Orleans and the tasks are actually fun. The only one I did not like was the riddles with answers on gravestones. They were beyond me! This game is great for kids and adults!

"Great way for families to interact and learn logic skills too", Our family has become hooked, like many, on these Nancy Drew interactive CD-R games. Each features a mystery that can be solved on a junior or senior level and our family gathers around the computer to solve the mysteries for hours on end. This particular one has a few somewhat scary moments in it (a man dressed in a Mardi Gras skeleton mask appears out of nowhere) and there is some voodoo type references which I could do without. However, it's a great addition to the many Nancy Drew games that we've already played. Great at developing logic skills for middle-schoolers and also great for family togetherness!

"Great game, but....", If you haven't tried Nancy Drew out for size yet, what are you waiting for? These games have stunning graphics, amazing interactive features, and complex characters/plots. Legend of the Crystal Skull is no different. You'll soon find yourself wandering around the creepy, creaky Bolet Mansion which seems to be plagued by secret plots, a spooky skeleton, and glass eyes. It certainly doesn't fail to impress.
However, considering the sky-high standards "Her Interactive" has set with the previous 16 Nancy Drew games for PCs, I'll be harsh (for those of you debating over which ND game to buy first). My friends and I played this together at a party, and we couldn't get away from the computer. Because we didn't want to mess around with the little stuff for too long, we picked up one of those walkthroughs you can find online. I think we could have ended up playing for days if we hadn't used it: some of the puzzles and clues are pretty complicated (especially for 4 lazy teenagers!)
On that note, we loved the characters (most particularly the troubled, but charming, Henry Bolet. Is there something wrong with a crush on a virtual character...?) But the ending was kind of disappointing... The ending was just a little to kitchy for me.
My advice - pick it up if you already know you like the series. If this is your first, buy Nancy Drew Treasure In The Royal Tower instead. It's a personal favorite, that is a perfect mix of spine-chilling and enchanting.

"not the best but worth it", this game does have good graphics, the puzzles are good and it's fun to play. the story line is a little weird and this one place that's a little bit creepy, but it fits the story line. i like the fact you get to play some one else besides Nancy (which is Bess). this is not one of best games but close to them and worth the purchase price.

"Not HerInteractive's Best", Okay, I want to start out by saying that I am a HUGE fan of ND games, and I've loved every one so far. However, this one, was simply not my favorite.

Issues I had with it are: Lack of scenery. You can only go to a couple places, and they very quickly got old. Lack of good music. The music in this game uses the same theme over and over again. At one point I was forced to mute it, it got so unbearable. The ending was very anti-climatic, and did NOT resolve anything, really. The characters were minimally interesting as well.

I hate to be harsh with any ND game, but this was my honest opinion of this game. I believe HerInteractive could have done a lot better, based on how much better their older games were compared to this one. If you're looking for a great ND game I would try Curse of Blackmoor Manor or Secret of the Scarlet Hand.

Laura

"Great game for all ages.", I love all of the Nancy Drew PC Games, including this one. There are a lot of interesting puzzles that really make you think to get to the next phase of the game. The game can be a little spooky at times, but that just makes it more fun. It also teaches you some history of both the legendary crystal skulls and New Orleans.

"Fun game with great atmosphere", This is a fun game and is one of my favorites. I loved the atmosphere and the location of New Orleans. The house, cemetary and the garden were beautifully done.

The only 'problems' I had with the game (playing the junior detective) were that: one, at one point in the game I couldn't get any more help from Ned when I was stuck. I finished up a certain task, but he kept telling to me go do it. This is a glitch in the game as I heard others had the same problem. Two, the marble game was really annoying as it was really hard to control where the marble was going to go. and three, some of the tasks weren't explained very well and so for a while I was stuck and unable to figure out what to do or where to go (such as a point in the game where you have to fingerprint something and I couldn't figure out how to do it. I finally figured out to you had to look in the tools even though this character hadn't found and 'taken' anything like Nancy does so you know what you have). And fourth, I wish they'd had bess explore the french quarter a bit more becuase it has such great character!

Overall though, I really enjoyed the hours I played and am looking forward to playing again just for the atmosphere.

"Good Spooky fun!", This is one of my favorite games in the Nancy Drew Series (I've played 'em all so far). The storyline was interesting, and this game seemed a lot less linear than some of the previous ones in that you could work on several puzzles at once, instead of trying to feel around for a "trigger" to get the game to allow you to move on to something else. In past games there were times when I knew what I had to do next but I had to run around trying to trigger the game to allow me to proceed. This game wasn't like that. Navigation was easy as always, and I enjoyed the mildly creepy feeling that it had, although I wouldn't want every game to be that way. As always I enjoyed the educational bits of the game as well. All of the eyeballs didn't bother me, it was neat to see what the next one was going to look like, however I can see how some people might be a big oogied out by all of the eyeballs.

I had to deduct 1 star for making me walk thorugh the graveyard so many times, it would have been nice to be able to view the model graveyard and click on the section I wanted to go to once I had explored the real one the first time around. Bess's movements could've been a bit less restricted as well, but all in all that wasn't too bad. I also thought the inventory was a little more difficult to use than what it had been in the past, but that wasn't a major detractor.

"One of the better Nancy Drew titles... and we have played em all!", Pretty much 'standard' Nancy Drew fare. My daughter and I played together and have completed every other Drew game. LOVED about 75% of it... the other 15% was painfully repetitive. A few areas had some seemingly needless repetitive walking back-and-forth to areas (to increase game duration?). That being said, I thought it had some good puzzles, was MUCH more fun than the last few, and had an enjoyable storyline. A worthy installment in the series!
