"By far the ugliest modern Apple product", I bought this expecting something as slim as the wonderful wired version, but no, do not let the pictures fool you - This mouse is over an inch thick. Coming from Apple, I expected a simplistic, polished mouse, but it seems more like a cheap chinese knockoff of the mighty mouse. By far, the wireless mighty mouse is the ugliest modern Apple product.

"Ergonomics leave much to be desired", I am a recent convert to the MacOS and purchased the Apple Mighty Mouse to use with my MacBook Pro. The bluetooth works perfectly, no complaints with that.

The only downside, which in my opinion is a big one, is that this mouse is not very comfortable to work with. Ever since I came close to getting Carpal Tunnel many years ago, I have been a stickler for good computer workstation ergonomics. This mouse is flat and the uncomfortable grip makes it hard to use for extended work sessions. I have an average size hand, so perhaps it may work fine for someone with a smaller hand.

Unfortunately I cannot seem to find an any other mouse to choose from. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

"Works sporadically", I've had this mouse for about 1 1/2 years and after about 6 months I started having a problem with it where the button that controls scrolling up and down, doesn't work. It's incredibly annoying because it will work for awhile and then for no apparent reason, stop working. After a few weeks it will randomly, start working again and I have not been able to find any solution to this problem or reason for it's start in the first place. I'd give it one star except that when it works, it's a good enough product.

"Love it.", This is my second wireless mighty mouse. One for my Mac Pro, and recently picked another one up for my MacBook Pro. They take a little while to get used to, especially when right clicking but once you grow comfortable with it, few mice can compare. Sure, I wish there were more buttons, but it's precision and ability to scroll smoothly, precisely and quickly more than make up for it. And the battery seemingly lasts forever.

"Brilliant... until it breaks", The Apple Mighty mouse (in both USB and wireless formats) is a worthy contender for the best mouse ever made. In particular, its tiny hyper-sensitive vertical & horizontal scroll button genuinely speeds up on-screen "productivity" to a level that, once you've got used to it, nothing else will do. Brilliant, that is until the scroll button stops working which in my case is about every 9 to 12 months. Bad news then... well yes, no piece of kit should do this, but right or wrong that's the way it is and when it happens I happily shell-out for a new one because it's that good to use. Look on it as the world's best disposable mouse and you won't be disappointed...

"could've been a decent mouse", This would be a much better mouse if there was an easy way to customize the side buttons separately (instead of having only one "squeeze" function). I also couldn't get the squeeze to work as a back function in my browser without a third-party program.

I didn't mind not having a physical distinction between the left and right button, but I know that bugs some people so it's worth mentioning.

The scroll ball is a nice idea in concept, and works beautifully for the first few weeks -- horizontal scrolling has never been easier. But you'll eventually get some gunk trapped between the ball and the casing and your scrolling experience comes to a complete stop.

It's a decent mouse for a pack-in but power users will likely want to upgrade to something better.

"Form Mostly Over Function?", Like others, I recently purchased a 2.5GHz MacBook Pro after being away from the Mac world for a few years. I wanted something that matched the MacBook in function and in form. Unfortunately, I only got three-fourths of what I wanted.

Out of fairness, I'll note the good first.

The Mighty Mouse looks like every other Apple design--minimalist, yet refined. From the top, it could double as a bar of soap due to its milky white oval design. The side buttons sit nearly flush and unnoticeable, and the scrolling ball is neatly recessed. The smooth bottom slides easily on a mouse pad or wooden desk surface. And, because mine is new, the scrolling ball operates flawlessly (though I am wary of dirt--but hoping that the alcohol cleaning cures it). Bluetooth connectivity is perfect--though, from what I've experienced in the short time I've had the MacBook, Apple focuses on simplicity and making things "work." Connectivity, then, is no different. Essentially, it looks good, and for a casual use, is perfect. In other words, 2/2.

That being said, I expect a little more out of Apple.

As others have noted, if you have your pointer finger on the left of the mouse, it is difficult to register a right click (due to the collapsing nature of the click mechanism). To have a flawless right click, you need to life your pointer finger. Of course, left-clicking works well.

The left and right side buttons, which apparently match your thumb and ring fingers, are quite difficult to operate. In the process of squeezing in my thumb, for example, I can't help but compress the mouse itself, which results in a left click. The right side is even more difficult and usually requires the a bit more manipulative force. I'm not sure if Apple made the buttons too stiff or if I am doing something wrong--but, a mouse being a mouse, I cannot imagine that I am making an error in use. Hence, 1/2--for a total of 3/4 of the way there.

All that being said, I hope that over time two things happen: (1) I get used to it and the mechanisms "break in," and (2) that Apple tweaks the design to allow easier operation of the side buttons and right click. While it's "close" to what I expect from Apple, it's not "close enough." I would buy it again, however, because I wanted something Apple, and that's exactly what I received.

"Nice idea, but needs some more work. ", Overall Apple's Mighty Mouse is a sturdy built piece of equipment; that well suited well for anyone who wants a simple mouse to take on the road. The built-in bluetooth technology makes this product very convenient; I would open my Macbook, flip the switch on the bottom of the mouse and within seconds the mouse would be ready to use. Battery life in incredible, I have owned this mouse for over a year and changed the batteries twice. But, on the other hand the mouse does have its flaws. The top of the mouse is made up of a solid piece of plastic with sensors underneath each side to determine if your making a right or left click, unlike other mouses which have 2 separate buttons for left and right clicking. While this is very innovative of Apple, it's not perfect, and I believe that technology needs more work. I found it really hard to use the right click feature, the sensor picked up my finger on the left, but not the right most of the time. When I had my Macbook on the road the mouse was very helpful because I did a lot of internet browsing where I wasn't using the right-click feature, but on the other hand at home when I was doing word processing and photo editing; mouse was very unhandy due to the touchy right-click feature. Also it would been nice to see Apple integrate a couple more buttons into this mouse; such as forward and back buttons for internet browsing.

Overall I would recommend the Mighty Mouse, but to only to those who don't do a lot of right clicking.

"Stuck on this "mouse"", The wireless "Mighty Mouse" with the scroll button wheel is terrific and worth the "bucks" to acquire it. It has all the features you could want and is easily modified to your specific requirements. The small scroll button has 360 degree control, and once you get use to it (like 2 minutes) you can't do without it. Being able to turn this unit "off" when not in use, extends the battery time considerably. No matter how proficient you become with pushing the cursor around with your fingers on the keyborard, you can't beat the "Mighty Mouse".

My only negative comment is, why does an "In-Stock" item take Amazon 3-5 days to ship?

"Good mouse, but trails Logitech", This mouse is great at tracking with its precise optical capability. I also have NOT had any problems in 6 months of use with its scrollball or with short battery life. Both have been perfect. My only slight problem is that it doesn't track as quickly, even at the fastest setting, as my Logitech mouse. Still, I like the bluetooth capability and the fact that I can easily turn the right side of the mouse into the secondary button if I go to Windows programs.
