Others say...
"My First Logitech Disappointment" I have a long history with Logitech products, and the mouse I reverted to after returning the V470 is a Logitech mouse (and I have a whole new appreciation for it).
Here's my experience with the V470:
- The installer took a LONG time (it's a mouse....what's taking so long? A new bluetooth stack?). Logitech product install is usually much faster.
- The installer failed to find the mouse twice, then succeeded on the third attempt. When it finally did acquire the mouse the connection stayed solid.
- The response is terrible and annoying. The mouse sleeps after about two seconds. If you move your hand off the mouse to do something quick (like press ENTER), that's long enough for it to sleep. When you move it after two seconds the cursor jumps around for a second or so before it completely wakes up (this is a common complaint with the V470 if you Google around a bit). For the few hours I used it I would regularly click the wrong link on a web page or start the wrong application in the start menu because of this jumpiness.
- Even when the mouse is awake it feels VERY rough and inaccurate. Selecting text is annoying enough that you notice it every single time. I don't think I could get used to it.
- The decision to return it was locked when I plugged in my old mouse and it was *SO* liquid smooth and totally responsive. If you gently push the V470 across your mouse pad, the cursor's movement is very rough and stuttery. My old mouse (just a Cordless Optical) behaves totally smoothly under very fast or very slow movement.
I had purchased the V470 because I didn't want to deal with the Cordless Optical's dongle, but after this experience I'll be sticking with the old mouse. I don't know if this is a V470 issue or a Bluetooth mouse issue in general, but this was a HUGE disappointment.
"A great little mouse" This mouse fits the hand well and moves smooth and accurately on just about any surface including my bare hairy leg. The tilt wheel and zoom are more usefull then I had expected. This mouse is perfect for my Asus Eee 1000h. The Eee has no removable disk drive so I simply copied the included cd to a USB flash drive using another pc with a drive and ran the setup off the flash drive. Setup was simple. I almost got the MS 5000 but saw some neg reviews so I went with this one. I'm real happy with this mouse.
"Slow, Jumpy.." I'm a huge fan of Logitech gadgets, especially mice, but wasn't too happy with this one.
I've been using this mouse on my MacBook Pro, and it gets jumpy at times. When it does work, it tracks well on my Razer eXactMat. What I hated most is that takes 4-5 seconds to reconnect from sleep, and often loses connection. I guess it could be a problem with both the MacBook or the mouse, but pairing them wasn't optimal for me.
Replaced it with a VX Revolution, and I'm happy again! Will carry the V470 on the road.
Pros: - No receiver required for bluetooth enabled notebooks - Sleek exterior - Small size
Cons: - Jumpy at times - Takes long ( 4-5 secs ) to reconnect to MacBook Pro waking from sleep - Small size - also a con, took a while for me to adjust to it. ( Medium size hands ) - No back button ( Minor con )
"Works great out of the box with a Mac Mini" I bought this for my wife, who has killed two wired mice pinching the cord under reams of clutter. It could be a tad small for those with bear paws for hands, but it's not one of those stupid mice the size of a Hot Wheels car. Uses two AA batteries.
Turned on the Bluetooth on my wife's Mac Mini, the mouse paired up effortlessly, and hasn't skipped a beat. I didn't bother installing the Logitech software. The tilt wheel scrolls docs/pages side-to-side under OS X 10.5.2, and everything else works as expected. The laser tracking on her desk surface, which confused our other optical mice, is EXCELLENT.
"Great Product" I ordered this mouse for my boss. It was delivered quickly and the mouse was as advertised. I had some issues getting the bluetooth going on his laptop, but once that was done, the mouse connected and has given no troubles. This mouse has enough range that he can click through presentations from anywhere in the room.

What our customer's say!
"Smooth and Stylin'", The mouse is just amazing. It is small enough to be travel-ready and the bluetooth reception is phenomenal. The size may be a bit small for large hands but I consider mine normal for a man and I have gotten used to it quickly. The middle mouse button can be customized with three different buttons; 1) scrolling, 2) tilt left and 3) tilt right. The included software makes setup easy on my Mac and I have had no problems with it at all.
Two thumbs way up!
"Love it!", Had it for 6 months so far, still running on the first pair of Duracell AA's. Compact, comfortable, functional, stylish, what more?
You have to get used to the small lag for it "waking up" after you stop using it for a while, but no biggie.
Highly recommended.
"Excellent Bluetooth Cordless Laser Mouse for Notebooks - Nice color, easy to use.", Excellent Mouse for Notebooks with a Nice color, easy to use, and great price with a good deal. Thank you so much, Excellent service A+++++++
"Could be better, could be worse", This is the second bluetooth mouse that I've tried (the other being the Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 Mac/Win) as a full-time mouse companion for my Apple BT keyboard. To its credit, the mouse maintains a connection better than the MSFT mouse (i.e. it reconnects at all), though as mentioned by other reviewers, it's definitely more sluggish to respond from sleep (and quicker to go to sleep) than the Apple counterparts. That said, the ergonomics are only slightly better than Apple's mice and my hands get cramped if I use it for more than a couple of hours in a row (i.e. heavy photo editing or similar).
Pros: bluetooth, portable, works, even comes with a bag.
Cons: Logitech software kills Growl - a known issue on their end which they have no intention of fixing. So you have to choose between growl working, or being able to customize the buttons/wheel (though OSX seems to do a decent enough of a job of this on its own - there are no fancy side buttons). As another reviewer mentioned, the black stuff on the side is coming off, which just feels unsettling, even if it is just cosmetic.
So overall? I'm still using it, though I can't say that I'm necessarily "happy" with it. It beats the competition, though that's an extremely low bar with few contenders. Maybe in a few years...

"Wonderful replacement travel moust", I was toting along a Apple Might Mouse for work and away from my desk mouse "needs".
Well scratch that. At first I tried the Razor Pro|Click bluetooth mouse. One thing that annoyed me to know end on that mouse was the fact that even waking from sleep, or coming out of the screen saver mode no matter how long I would wait, or move the mouse the bluetooth connection would never "reconnect" I would have to go into System Preferences and force the connection. Something I really didn't want to do all the time.
When I would first open my MacBook Pro after a long time I would have to delete the mouse and then re- add it.
So this mouse is a replacement for two mice.
This mouse feels good in my hands and I think I have larger than average hands. The configurability of this mouse puts the Razor Pro|Click to shame. Logitech including everything, batteries, DVD/CD with the drivers, travel bag, manual. The software loads a system preference where all the mouse buttons/wheels can be set to your liking.
It tracks well and much more smoothly than the Pro|Click.
I highly recommend this mouse and I will probably order a second one for the home computer.

Read this reviews before You buy...
"Laser mouse without the wires or dongle!", I am very pleased with this mouse. It has great battery life, great response, laser precision, left/right buttons on the wheel, good size and comfortable grip.
I use this mouse every day for a few hours at a time. The mouse has a on/off switch on the bottom, but I just leave it on all the time. Even with all this use, I'm still on my first set of batteries. Which, by the way, were half dead from my previous mouse. I haven't touched the batteries that came with the mouse.
This mouse is more responsive than my previous mouse, and much more precise. My previous mouse was a Logitech v270 (Bluetooth optical mouse). It will go to sleep if left alone for a few minutes (not sure how many, but more than seconds like some people claim). It wakes up in a fraction of a second.
The soft grip on the sides is nice, except that it is too delicate. My mouse already has a scratch from a fingernail in the soft finish.
It came with a pouch, batteries, and a CD.
"I tried it for 3 weeks", I can't seem to get this mouse to wake up after my iMac goes to sleep. After bluetooth makes a few passes trying to find the mouse, then, in cases like right now, I can't get the darned thing paired.
When I attach my Microsoft notebook wireless mouse with the dongle, I realize just how much accuracy I've been missing out on with the pointer going precisely where I want it to go, it does so quickly and smoothly, and there's no skipping.
Bad purchase for me.
"Never could get it to work", Tried for hours to get it to connect to my new Dell. Another 50 times trying to call customer support and only get a busy signal. eMails to support unanswered. Waste of money for me.
"Laggy with very poor DPI", I'm using this mouse with Windows vista.
The Logitech V470 sleeps way too fast, making casual browsing (where you pause for 10 seconds or so e.g. reading a 3 sentence review of an item) and when you want to move the mouse again it "jumps" and lags because the mouse is waking from its sleep. I find it really irritating that I paid around $50 for a mouse that shows lag. (It may save power, but they should have made the sleep time either adjustable or longer)
The second problem I experienced is the DPI (think of it as a gauge to measure how accurate the mouse is when moving it around). First of all, no where online was i able to find the DPI of this mouse. The fact that Logitech fails to mention the DPI specification of this mouse makes me wonder why. I noticed that this mouse is not very accurate, and when compared to a 5-dollar cheap wired optical mouse, the 5-dollar mouse performed WAY better in accuracy. The V470 makes me feel like I'm using a very old mouse that used the tracking ball with lots of dust stuck inside. If a 5-dollar cheap optical mouse feels more accurate than this mouse (not taking lag into consideration), then there is some serious shortcomings in the V470.
I would not recommend this mouse at all. The only advantage is that it is wireless, but everything else falls below the poor performance level. I mainly use the mouse for internet browsing and I still find it irritating with lag and lack of accuracy. I would suggest searching for other alternatives.
"It's a nice mouse", I love this mouse. It works pretty well. But the only small issue is it was disconnect from my NB's bluettoh twice. Other than that, I am pretty happy to use it. It's a good mouse.
