"Photoshop and Premiere"
I have read many reviews on how this combo might not work well on vista and other negative reviews. I have been using premiere now for a month. I am running it on a Quad Core Q6600, Windows Vista Business 64 bit, 4 Gigs of RAM, with a 8800GTS.

I have had very few problems. I have had premiere crash and close a couple times, but nothing major. I really enjoy the new interface the program has that allows you to have a windows movie maker type look. That layout is great for simple movies.

You will need a lot of RAM, but that is nothing new to the video editing industry. For utilization of the Quad core, while it is compiling the project, it is averaging around 70% on each core.

I think this is a major improvement over Premiere 2. I enjoy the Photoshop and have not had a problem with it at all. I highly recommend this product and if you're in doubt, get the demo from the Adobe website.

"Still learning , but so far very happy."
I'm a novice with this program, and just bought my first DSLR about 3 months ago, so I'm probably taking advantage of about >1% of this software. But, with my limited time using it, it's been fun and seems like a great way to learn more about the basics of photo editing, and offers some very user friendly features.

I also have a Canon High Def Camcorder tht I bought about a year ago, that records onto HD MiniDV tapes. I have heard Elements will let you work with that format, although I'm not sure how much? I haven't even used Premiere yet, just elements, but I'm sure it will be fun and I'll learn some more great photo/video uses!

"Great product... Wish that I had it for my own use."
I purchased this for my daughter. It is the best decision I made. I wish that I had it for my own self. I am still using version 3 of premier and 5 of photoshop. If you are wanting to launch in the world of photo, graphics or video ediing. This is the first place you should start. All of the power and all of the tools to begin. Don't jump in the deep water until you learn to wade in the shallow water. Makes sense to me.

"Pay your money, take your chances!!!"
I am SICK of paying good money for software that doesn't work! Lately I've been using several slide show creators to get a feel for what I wanted. I've used Windows Movie Maker, Ulead Picture Show and Wondershare DVD Slide Show Builder. All of these worked flawlessly but none had ALL the features I wanted in one piece of software. These also are all fairly cheap programs so I figured I'd spring for the "good stuff" and buy the Adobe product. What a mistake! $120 down the drain! Constant freezes and lock ups. I've yet to actually burn a DVD due to the crashes and freezes. Why on earth should I continue to buy name brand software when free or low buck programs do a better job? Some folks seem to be able to use this product without a hitch and others, like myself, have untold problems. Whether this program will work for you seems to be a hit or miss proposition so you must ask yourself... Is it worth risking $120 for a product that MAY work when numerous other products that DO work are available for a fraction of the price??? I will no longer buy any software that doesn't offer a free trial period; if they want my business they'll have to show me their product works first. I guess it goes without saying I'm now done with Adobe!

"Excellent Product - Well worth the money"
Using Photoshop Elements I was able to create the perfect shot. This is exactly what I have been searching for I can easily edit out parts of a picture or change group shots so that they are perfect.

Premiere Elements was a great companion product and without reading directions I was able to create a DVD slideshow with music and titles in 2 hours. Enhancing the video was easy and fun and I was able to improve on the first cut by clicking on beats and had pictures changing to the music. It was easy to fade in and out songs as I wanted

I totally recommend this product for anyone who wants to do a little bit more than average with your pictures. I've had it a few weeks and I'm loving finding all the features.

What our customer's say!

"Adobe Photoshop", This is a great product. Working on an album for a reunion and the autofix features for the old pictures are great. Ease of adding text to the pictures is very user friendly.

"Adobe Photoshop Elements 6", Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 is an improved version over version 4 in areas related to resizing photos, layering, additional flexability to Quick Fix colors and to 'cut and insert' and inverse using the maganetic lasso. However, the Organizer Workspace that you see when you open Photoshop is a dark grey. In itself, this is not bad; but, all the pull-down menus on the Options bar at the top are in an almost indistinquisable lighter grey so that it is extremely difficult to even locate the Options e.g. Aspect Ration, let alone change e.g. Restriction options. A great feature is the ability very easily create an impressive slide show file with text and music and even your own dialog.

"Adobe Software: Elements: Love It!", I was using Photoshop Elements 5, so Version 6 is a natural upgrade. The Premier Elements lets me simply create a 'mixed' show of video and snapshots easily...does what I need!

"AWESOME video and pic editors", Outstanding editors! Adobe Premiere makes video editing a snap! Capture, edit, put in the menu markers, create the DVD (or whatever else format you want) and done! I used to have to juggle 3 different programs and took easily hours. Now, in less than 1 hour I digitize the video, edit it and burn it!
Adobe Photoshop is a very powerful photo editing tool. Requires some learning curve (more than Premiere) Once you get it, you got it and you can do ANYTHING you want with the photos.

Simply awesome for the price.

WARNING: You must have the computer memory and power to handle it.

"Great value for power; maybe not for the beginner though!", If your computer *exceeds* the minimum system requirements, this is a wonderful bundle. The programs come in the same case, but on separate DVDs; this way, you can choose to install either or both at your leisure. This is the best find in non-professional editing software, and you really cannot go wrong right now, with the available rebate until 10/2008.

I have been a large Photoshop fan for years, and this version adds even more power and control. (I do not tend to use "auto fix" features; I like fine-tuning things manually.) The previous release integrated the Elements (editing) and Organizer (library/catalog) programs, and this version seems to work even faster between the two. One of the greatest assets of Photoshop is to "tag" your pictures by names, dates, places, etc., and use a representative picture for the tag. That way, you can find and group pictures through sight rather than keywords.

I did not previously own video editing software, but the recent gift of a mini-DVD recorder made it necessary to shop around. Premiere can seem a bit slow, even on my AMD quad-processor, 4GB RAM monster; however, from all the research I have done, that seems par for the course when working with huge amounts of video data. I also tend to have a large span of patience, as I began working with computers when your programs took 20 minutes to load from cassette tapes. The best stuff you can do with PCs has *never* been instant, so with a little patience, Premiere is a fun program with a lot of powerful tools behind it.

One of the best reasons to get this package is the integration between the two programs. You can easily add photos to a video you are compositing, or catalog your videos in Photoshop. You can burn DVDs, or even create web-friendly files in several formats (including YouTube).

Again, it takes a lot of horsepower to run these programs, so if you have an older computer, or a relatively inexpensive graphics card, you may be disappointed. However, if you have the machine for them, these two programs are the best in their class.

Read this reviews before You buy...

"Adobe for starters!!!", My brother is a graphic designer and although I could see the power of Adobe products, they were way too much for my needs. Elements brings the Adobe capabilities to a more "human" level. I would recommend this product to anyone that wants to manage digital media. The only reason why I do not choose the 5 stars it's because Im still learning how to use all its tricks. I really love the organizer!!!

"Love it..", I love this software, but I really get frustrated at times. I have read so many reviews trying to find software to use that will edit our pictures. You need to really practice with it before you can whip out an edited version.

"Photoshop Elements good, Premiere Elements... not so good", Photoshop Elements

I've been using Photoshop for years and I like Photoshop Elements for quick, simple edits (I use Photoshop CS for more complex edits). There is a definite learning curve to be able to use some of the more complicated editing tools, but this is a very powerful package for the price. The photo organizational tools and the ability to create albums are also nice and easy to use features.

Premiere Elements

Save your money and buy a different product. I've been trying to create a 5 minute video of my 2 year old son for 2 weeks and I've had it with this product. I have a 2.4GHz dual core machine with 4GB of RAM running Vista 32bit and have had nothing but problems. The software is great for editing 1 or 2 items at a time. I'm trying to put together 40 short clips into a coherent video and the product can't handle it. It was fine up to about 25 clips and then it started crashing. Also, if you're shooting high def on a new DVD, HDD or Flash camcorder, be aware that Premiere Elements does not support AVCHD. To be fair, the interface for the program is very intuitive and if it was stable, it would be a fantastic product. Unfortunately, it's not stable unless you're doing some pretty simple stuff. I'm doing home movies and I can't get it work without crashing.

Bottom Line

Photoshop Elements gets a solid 4 stars. Premiere Elements gets a solid 0 stars. Thus, a 2 star rating overall. My advice: buy the standalone version of Photoshop Elements and find something else to edit video.

"Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 & Premier Elements 4", After thourough search via the internet, I selected the Adobe product as noted. The product has proved to be as described and an excellent value based on the features and ease of use. I considered going with the professional package, but am glad I did not as the software offers all I need, and is much easier to use.

"Typical Adobe", Locks up my computer. Not very user friendly. Looks like it does a lot if I could get to work. Adobe products are big and complicated. I new better than buy this piece of crud.
