"Quick and painless", My second year with this product. Last year kept me virus free and the product worked well with my Operating System (Windows XP) For the price you can't beat it. Additionaly, my good freind who is an IT teacher at the local college highly recomended it. The reason I didn't rate it a five is that I only have limited experience with these products.

After reading all of the mixed reviews here & from other sources, I decide to 'go for it'. BIG MISTAKE ! I just downloaded this onto my brand new 2 month old HP Vista computer & after struggling for 3 hours to get it off, my computer is still not working correctly. My computer was virtually useless while this was downloaded. It was running very slowly ( ie: dial up ) and Internet Explorer crashes while closing emails among other things. ) Also, it scans very slowly, we're talking hours. No, I didn't have the time nor patience for that. I have managed to get this off my computer after 3 tries. I kept getting error messages telling me it couldn't be removed because 'I may not have the priviledge to remove it'.I almost thought I was stuck with it. Finally it's gone & I am now sweeping up the ashes. Hopefully I can get my computer back up to speed without doing a complete system restore, which is absolute B.S. on a 2 month old computer. Yes, the price is right - BUT IT'S STILL NOT WORTH IT !

My advice: Don't do what I did.

"Very good security software", I evaluated the trial version of KIS 7 after my Trend Micro (Vista) security suite that i was using began shutting down component after component and received zero help from their customer support. I was very satisfied with KIS 7, given that I have enough technical knowledge to configure it the way I want. The parental controls need some work, but everything else is rock solid as far as I can tell. I wouldn't necessarily recommend it for a brand new computer user, but if you know someone who has some tech knowledge this suite is well worth the money, they constantly score the top detection rates.

"Danger! Danger!", Downloaded KIS7 because previous subscription was expiring. During load it said to remove old K product first (why didn't the installation program remove it?) After tedious and time consuming process it finally loaded. Then it said database is obsolete (over one year old). Why didn't it download the current database? When I clicked the button to update, it said the site could not be found. The product shut off all access to the network (Internet, email, LAN). I disabled all the protection, still no access to the net.

Then I tried to remove the program; it wouldn't let me! Other programs on my computer ran, but KIS7 wouldn't let itself be removed (isn't that what a virus does?). Then I tried to restart. KIS wouldn't let me restart! At the risk of really screwing things up, I had no alternative but to cut power! I crossed my fingers that my computer still ran. Low and behold, KIS7 was gone, and I had access to the net. But now I don't have any anti-virus protection!

Apparently "customer service" is best found on K's forum. The "expert" said not to use the standard MS removal program, but to use K's special program (why didn't the download instructions say that?). Then he said to create a "GSI log" which requires a tool from...the internet. But wait...KIS7 prevents me from having internet access!!!

What a nightmare! A day later, I am far worse off than I was yesterday at this time. I use my computer for work, not to troubleshoot someone's lousy software! I thought I was being proactive by renewing two weeks early. Not sure what to do now except find an AVS that works and try to get a refund from K or the credit card company.

Moral of the story: I should have read the Amazon reviews rather than rely on magazine reviews!

"Freed from Symantec.", This product installs without a glitch, works as designed and is to date less intrusive than Norton/Symantec or McAfee. It offers security and protection without creating a bigger problem on your system than it is preventing. Very happy to be free of Symantec after 10 years of ongoing application problems.

Read this reviews before You buy...

"Safety and efficiency", I had a trial of this and loved it. Couldn't afford to buy it when the trial was up. Went with free PC-cillin licensed by work, It slowed down my PC by a factor of 3. Went with a free one (Avast), after six months of good results a trojan got through. Decided I couldn't afford not to have Kaspersky. Cleaned up my PC, and keeps me safe. And my PC is as fast as ever.

"So, so slow!!", I've had Norton IS and ZoneAlarm IS, and I thought they slowed things down, but their pokiness was nothing compared to Kaspersky! I thought it would speed up after it acclimated to my system, but after more than a month it's still slow. The other products slowed down my computer at boot up or when they were actually scanning. KIS slows down everything, even printing - PRINTING!?! And it slows them down not just the first time you run them after installing KIS, but every time you run them. When I get on the Internet now, I click the IE icon and then go do something else for a few minutes so it has time to come up. To speed things up, I right-click the tray icon and click "Pause Protection." Of course, this totally defeats the purpose of the software, but it works. (And given how slow KIS does everything else it's amazing to see how quickly Pause Protection works. While waiting for a program to come up, click on Pause Protection and almost instantly the program opens, a definite indication of what was slowing it down.) Oh, and all the old tried n' true fixes (clear your cache, defrag, etc.) weren't necessary with NIS and ZA, so they shouldn't be necessary with KIS. Since Norton only provides support begrudgingly (and believe me, prodigious amounts of support are needed with their products), I'm going back to ZoneAlarm. I never needed support, it worked well, and I barely noticed it was there - the way Internet security software should be. I only switched because a friend with whom I shared a 3-user license thought ZA slowed his computer down and he wanted to try something else, but he's not happy with KIS either so we'll both be switching back. All of these products are well-rated for their primary purpose - virus and intrusion protection - so it comes down to the user experience and that's where KIS is most lacking, IMHO.

"Kaspersky Internet Security Best Security Software!", Great Internet Security Software. Fast Virus Scans*, Great with system resources. Finds viruses better that any of the other guys. Easy to use. Looking Froward to Kaspersky Internet Security 2009!
