"Don't even load the free scan!!!", I was getting intermittent spyware warnings and decided to try this software out first, by downloading the free scan. What a mistake!
I ran the scan it and it gave me a list of various warnings, etc. Then,
after each time the message came up that it was running in the backround,
my computer would hang and then reboot itself. This kept happening over
and over. Every time I tried to get to the Control Panel to remove
this program, it would reboot before I got the chance to remove it.
Quite frustrating, to say the least! I thought I was going to have to re-install the operating system. Finally,I lucked out. My computer stayed up long enough one time, and I was able to do a system restore from the system tools. I restored it to the day before and the system rebooted without anymore problems. This spyware is so bad, it acted like a virus just by itself. After all this happened, I then saw everyone's reviews on Amazon, which confirmed the problem I had was this software. If you have
not tried this spyware package yet, don't even load it to do the free scan. You'll probably regret you did!!!

"Bad, bad, bad!", I can confirm the views of the majority of other reviewers here. This software takes over so much of my computers resources that it can't handle anything else other than run Spyware Doctor. Save your money, do not buy this dreadful piece of software.

I have reverted back to my old favourite - Spybot Search and Destroy. It's free and works much better than this thing does - if you want to download it, be very careful to get the right software, there are a couple of clone pieces out there which mimic Spybot S&D. These load your machine up with spyware.

"A Rip Off", Worked OK for a while, then unregistered itself and would not take the license code I received from PC Tools. Submitted three help requests to PC Tools, all of which were ignored.

"spyware doctor reviews", I purchased Spyware Doctor about two months ago and run it every
day without any spyware being detected of any name or kind.
Before buying this spyware, I researched this product and found the
reviews positive.
This has to be the worst spyware I ever purchased and spent good money for.
Do not understand why this positive review, but it is a joke!
Please save your money and do not buy this spyware!!!!!!!!

"Computer LOCK-UP", Major head-on crash with other software. In the middle of a boot-up virus scan, everything locked tight. Technical assistance told me to disable all my other security functions. Spyware Doctor is such a resource hog it caused total lock-up of my system... to the point nothing worked except powering off the machine - one of those things you should do only as a last resort! Cancelling the annual subscription was easy, once I finally got through the on-line maze to Germany to cancel. There is no email address with the marketing company to contact if you have issues. I agree with another review - Zero Stars would be more appropriate.

"Beware of sneaky charges to your credit card", I downloaded this PC Tools from the company website last year to rid my Windows PC of a spyware infestation that several other programs were unable to clean. PC Tools succeeded in cleaning my machine, but the whole effort of constantly trying to keep all these viruses and spyware programs at bay prompted me to switch to a Mac after 20 years on PCs. So I now have no need of virus/spyware protection programs. Imagine my surprise when my credit card was charged $29 over 11 months after my previous purchase for an "Annual Update" of PC Tools! I did not ask for this update and certainly did not want it. It took me numerous emails, credit card dispute forms and considerable aggravation to finally get my money back. If you buy this software here on Amazon, do not let PC Tools have any of your personal information when registering. My experience is that they violate their customer's trust- and their wallet!

"The best Antispyware Available!", I have been running Spyware Doctor for about 6 month now and I must say that I love it. The program is so easy to use and has been given a bunch of awards from magazines and websites. It does slow down my PC a bit as mentioned by other people but no where near as much as Norton and McAfee do! And it's way cheaper than either of those!
I would highly recommend this to other people.

"Not ready for prime time", This is an almost working product. Not as expected from PC Tools. Product is a resource hog, locks up windows on shutdown. Tech support while they get back to you promptly and give you a ticket number once you send them the scteen shots showing the problen you never hear from them again and problem not solved. with on guard running programs load like paint drying. When they get the bugs out it will be a worthwhile product.

"A Big Loser : NOT compatible with Security Suites, Vista or XP", I, too, reacted to a recent (PC World) review of this "wonderful" program, buying it, only to have nothing but trouble with the blasted thing. It completely locked up my Windows Vista desktop computer and really caused havoc with my Windows XP laptop. I ended up starting all over with the Windows Vista computer, having to format and reinstall Vista. My security suite programs (I've used both Kaspersky--dumped it-- and--went to--Norton) tend to shut this program down, probably because it acts like a virus! I have contacted PC Tools tech support, only to receive a long list of complicated "things to do" (like clean up my system tray, which I keep at a bare minimum anyway) but they have no clue what my problem is. There are no guarantees of a "fix" with the elaborate list of things I could do (which includes downloading a program to integrate with the Spyware Doctor program) and definitely no agreement to refund my money. My advice: do NOT buy this program!

"Don't Buy this Product", The Spyware Doctor kills your computer. Here's my advice to you, get another kind of virus/spyware protection though Spyware doctor may clean your computer of spy programs, I had to delete it just to get my computer to move again. More times than not it COMPLETELY FROZE MY COMPUTER!!! I have a Brand new computer upgraded to 4GB The best sound and graphic card on the market and this program made my NEW and UPGRADED TO THE MAX COMPUTER act like a piece of JUNK! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR COMPUTER MEMORY on this STUPID PROGRAM!!!
