What our customer's say!
"Lots of fun, but a little short", This was loads of fun. The boss battles were great. Playing against Tom Morello and Slash was a blast. If you like any of the Guitar Hero games or even Rock Band, this is worth your time. I would get it on sale like I did.
The only cons I can think of are it's really, really short. I beat the game in about four hours. Yes, I can replay some of the songs and try to unlock some others, but the game has been "beaten" so I'm not sure how much replay value there is.
The second con is the set list at the higher stages is a little heavy on metal songs. I don't mind playing some staples like One by Metallica and Paranoid by Black Sabbath, but some of the others were too heavy for a more mainstream taste. Not so much that I wouldn't buy the game, but I did finding myself going back to lower levels just to mix it up before I tried moving on.
But overall, lots of fun.
"This game rocks", The Guitar Hero game series may be the best thing to ever happen to video games. Finally, a game driven by musical interest that teenagers love to play. My 13 year old had to be told to turn it off every day, but at least he was developing an ear for music as well as his hand to eye coordination. It is very refreshing to find a game teenagers love that doesn't include guns, cars, and violence.
"Another winner", Like the music selections better, and like the frst and second issues, his shouldn't fall under the category of Video "game". It takes so much more hand/eye coordnation than the average video game. Watching the competitions is almost as much fun as being at a live concert. Beieve me, when the song is done, the players are sweating. So this is a great video game that gets the kids up off the couch and moving, even if they don't know it!
"Damnit it's addicting... but fun", Games, fun... nothing really different from GH2 just different songs and a couple extra bells and whistles... still it was a good buy.
"A sharp contrast to Rockband", Basically, GH3 is for hardcore rhythm game fans. Many knock the game for the things it doesn't share with RB(full set of instruments, less dowloadable content) I will celebrate the differences. You wouldn't want 2 of the same game out there. GH3 is much more difficult than RB and offers more guitar centric tracks(for obvious reasons) Suprisingly, GH3 out trumps RB in forms of difficulty progression and actually telling a story. In RB you basically play songs in different locations until you see the end credits. I didn't even realize the last song of the game was the final song because it was just as difficult as the rest of the songs. You won't make that mistake in GH3. The final 3 songs are probably the hardest time ive had with the genre( even on normal) and the Dragonforce song that plays during the credits is unbelievable. I like the story in GH3. I wont spoil it but you basically go from rags to riches to infamy. All in all, at some points the game seems too hard and the play list is kind of hit or miss. All in all GH3 is worth a buy if you find RB too easy.

"Enjoyable installment with the best track list yet", Guitar Hero III doesn't do much different than the last installment did, but what it does offer is by far the best track list to be seen in a Guitar Hero game yet. Featuring spectacular songs like the Rolling Stones' "Paint It Black" and Metallica's "One"; Guitar Hero III also features selections from Santana, ZZ Top, Pearl Jam, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Smashing Pumpkins, Dead Kennedys, The Killers, Social Distortion, Iron Maiden, Slayer, Dragon Force, and the Sex Pistols among others; helping make this installment of the game be all the more memorable. What hurts Guitar Hero III though is that the third time around, the game doesn't feel fresh anymore, and Activision and Harmonix haven't really done enough to make it all that different from Guitar Hero II. There's higher difficulty this time around for experienced players, but getting there is a different story that casual gamers won't come close to getting towards. Not to mention that the battle modes and boss battles aren't all that interesting or fun either. There is more great XBox Live support though, but it should also be noted that there is a heavy amount of in-game advertising as well, which as you all know by now, is more annoying than anything else. Negatives aside, Guitar Hero III is still a very fun installment of the popular rhythm series, and this installment has the best track list yet. Let's just hope that next time around Harmonix and Activision do enough to spice up the formula.
"Guitar Hero III fun but raunchy", My son loves to play Guitar Hero III and I'm glad he has a fun game but Guitar Hero III is raunchier than the other Guitar Hero games. I'd rather he focus on the music than the scantily clad girls. If this is a trend for Guitar Hero, I will not be buying Guitar Hero IV if there is one. The makers of Guitar Hero should remember parents usually are the ones who buy the game and should consider creating a game which is not offensive.
"Love it, but where are the 70 legendary songs?", I love this game, but after two weeks I am sick of the songs. I count only 27 songs, while the product description says "More than 70 of the most legendary rock anthems of all-time". Will I be able to buy more games to expand the song list? I have reached the medium level, but I will go crazy if I play the same songs enough times to reach the hard or expert level.
"What he wanted!", Purchased for 16 year old son, it is what he asked for and he said its awesome.
"Product details not clear", I bought this for my grandson. Based upon the picture on the box and the product detail provided for this item, I thought some type of guitar was included with it. Because it was sent directly to my grandson who lives over 600 miles from me, I did not realize that the guitar was a separate purchase until I spoke with him after Christmas. I think that it should be made much clearer that this item is a video game only; and no instruments are included. Surely you must realize that many purchases are by older adults long removed from the age of persons interested in these games, who have never heard about them until a grandchild, niece or some other young person mentions it as the item they'd like for their birthday or Christmas. With limited knowledge of these items, we depend on the descriptions to assist us in our purchases.
