"french coach"
I bought this game as a gift for my friends' son and he now has to fight his parents to give the game back. They are all trying to learn french before moving to a french island and all say French Coach is so much fun. I have also bought Spanish Coach for my son and ended up having to buy two more for my friends teenagers who thought it was fun and hooked them. If the kids, teens and parents are all getting into it, then it must be fun and worth it.

"Not bad, but the games are stupid and repetitive"
The repetition of vocabulary is good, but the games are lame. One has you clicking on gophers that pop up out of holes, that's kind of pre-school. Since I have a 12 year old using the game to learn a second language it just seems infantile for both of us. The other game is a word search, but it gives you so little time to find the phrases, I ended up with tired eyes from having to scan so fast.(I also don't think that it helped me learn the language any better.) I thought the flash card games were better and saved me from having to sit there and painstakingly print out index cards.

"awesome"
I love this game. Although when you use your stylus to write the letters, sometimes you can write the wrong letter and the game takes it as the right one. Other than that, this game is awesome and you do learn a lot of new words.

"Fairly good as a vocabulary builder"
My French Coach is fine for learning new words. Early on in the sequence there are some lessons that impart new concepts, but at some point, it seems to morph into nothing more than a vocabulary builder totally void of any grammatical concepts or lessons. That's fine I guess. I had hoped for at least some sort of rudimentary lesson structure to build upon throughout the many, many levels which one can progress. It can't hurt you to spend time with this game. Just don't expect too much in the way of improving your grammatical skills.

"Good learning experience"
This game provides a good learning experience for the basics. It is possible to use it without gaining a great deal of French but with proper use it will give a good foundation. I will be studying French in France for 10 months and used this in combination with other tools to get a head start.

"Very interesting and helpfull", Great game. I liked it a lot. I'm wondering if more advanced levels are coming up. Please keep it coming.

"This one's a keeper.", I've had this one for over a year, and I'm still playing around with it. It's a really fun, unique way to bone up on your French. I think this would have helped me when I was first learning, so I recommend it highly to high school and college students. I don't know that I've picked up all that many words, but it's kept me from losing as much as I think I would have otherwise. Also, some of the words they go over in this game are really cool words you would never think to look up.

"Repetitve but fun", I bought this game as a tool to get a head start on French classes I'll be taking. There are some good and bad things about the game.

Good: It's a good tool for memorization and the mini-games are pretty fun. It has a decent dictionary and the lessons seem to progress in a good sequence. The music is cute to listen to. The words you're learning are relevant and would be helpful to know in a French-speaking country. It's fun to play!

Bad: It's pretty repetitive. Each lesson is practically the same, except for the words/phrases you're learning. Also, you start off by taking a quiz to see what level you should start on. This seems like a good idea, but the quiz is multiple choice, so you can look at a lot of the words and make an educated guess as to what it means. It started me off on Level 9 and I've never had a day of French in my life, only because I could guess well. Then it says I've mastered all the previous lessons, which isn't true.

Overall, it's a fun game and for the price, it's worth it. I wouldn't suggest using it as your ONLY tool for learning French, but it can definitely help.

"Great Way To Learn French", I have tried several times to learn french and this is the first tool i have used where i actually retain most of the information and am abot to understand and speak french with ease, this is a great game!!!

"Good for practice!!", I got this product with the objective of practicing french, and I might say that it is very usefull, the activities are dinamic and you get related to the language.

Even so, I'm 22, and I took french courses for almost 2 years, so I was already related to it. If it is the first time you get in touch with french I think its a little tediuos and complicated at first... also it is not funny for children, and I mean 12 years old.

But as I said first... is a very good tool to practice and not forgive what you've learned!

"I've Never Spent so Much Time Learning", The lessons make sense, you can go at your own pace, and the mini-games used to reinforce the vocabulary are well thought out. I'm horrible at learning foreign languages, yet I feel I'm doing alright using this product. Don't get me wrong, I don't think this program will have me speaking French fluently any time soon, but it should make getting around France a little easier when I go.

"A Great Gadget!", Not perfect, but a great gadget for review. My husband and I are enrolled in an elementary French class, and we also have bought language programs for our computers. My husband transferred the audio parts of the computer programs onto MP3s that we can listen to when we are out and about, but I found that this "My French Coach" makes a great additional gadget to review what I have learned.
I am not so sure that a person could *learn* French this way, but it is a fun program.

As far as am "on the go" translator/dictionary I have had trouble using it in the French class. It doesn't have everything! Still, I am finding it a nice additon to resources I already have.

"Excellent 1 on 1 coaching", The games are great, lot of repetition, drilling and hearing the pronunciations are helpful. One of the recommendations that the game makes is that you also practice your new vocabulary outside of the game itself. It is not the easiest, but is worth the effort, especially when you start to understand the language.

"My French Refresher", I purchased the game to help me review 4 years of high school French. I'm not sure if it would help a person just starting out but it does help review. Some of the games are useless and give too much credit towards mastering words but for the most part the oral and flash card challenges are good.

"Learning really can be fun", Interested in learning a new language? Don't have the self motivation for tedious, long hours of study with audio tapes or books? You're in the right place :).

Not only will you learn new things constantly but you won't even realize you're studying. Not only is this game very fun but very rewarding.

I love this game and it's awoken a love of the French language in me.
