"great product slow shipping", I admit that the internet is a great place to get deals on electronics if you are patient, but I needed the charger soon. Yes, I could have gone to the apple store to shell out $80 on this charger and gotten it immediately, but that's really a ridiculous price. So I bought it here, and waited, and waited, and waited. Finally I just thought it had been lost in the mail. I really needed this charger so that I could have access to my laptop, which had been dead for a month. When I did get it I was past the point of being excited and just eager to use it. Only complaints with the product is that the wire is WAy too short. Its not the same charger you get with the original laptop. Its a different version and you pretty much have to be sitting on the power outlet to use it. I would just recommend shelling out the extra money and buying this product from apple. You save time, and get the product you need

"Nifty Adaptor", My adaptor actually came with the purchase of my MacBook so I didn't have to buy this separately. Maybe that's why I like my adaptor so much more than most of the other reviewers. Mine doesn't turn hot or hasn't melted (yet?)!

It can be inserted into the MacBook either way - meaning it's never upside down. There is a magnetic pull to it so it easily inserts. The light is "red" while it's powering up your MacBook and turns green once it's done.

It also comes with this nifty hook thing where you can wrap the cord around it (similar to a vacuum cleaner how you wind up your power cord around the two hooks). So far I'm very pleased with it!

"Perhaps the least reliable device ever produced by Apple", Apple has a reputation for making hardware that works reliably for a long time. This adaptor is an exception. If you have a Mac Book, you might want to pick up a spare adaptor. My first one quit working 5 days after the warranty expired. The replacement for it lasted less than a week. My third one (purchased through Amazon) is working but it is only day 3. Despite some reviews here to the contrary, the device sold here by Amazon is the genuine Apple product.

This device is either very poorly designed or uses inferior electrical components. It is a huge disservice to Apple's reputation to distribute computers with a power adapter this unreliable. They should be recalled and replaced with a reliable substitute free of charge. With no moving parts to speak of, there is little wear and tear. Thus, the components must be pretty poor.

"Good adapter for a good price", If your Apple MacBook adapter is broken, this is a good choice. The price (including shipping) was lower than a new adapter in my nearest Apple Store, and the standard non-expedited delivery was fast: less than 10 days, and I live in Europe ;) Thanks!

"Fallas en el diseño", Este es el tercer cargador que compro debido a que los 2 anteriores se dañaron sin razon aparente.....el primero pense que habia sido mi hijo el que lo daño metiendoselo en la boca, pero el 2do se daño sin que mi hijo tuviera acceso a el......la parte magnetica funciona a la maravilla, pero los conectores del cable, al parecer se pegan y no hacen buen contacto en la computadora, entonces o no carga la bateria de la laptop, o la laptop no reconoce la corriente externa, asi que Apple deberia rediseñar este cable para que los puntos de conexion del cable no se peguen y asi no exista mas fallas......pienso ademas que deberia ser un accesorio mas barato, debido a las interminables fallas y quejas que recibe este producto tanto en esta pagina como en la de Apple...irremediablemente es el unico conector que le sirve a las Apples, asi que no queda otra de seguir comprandolo........es recomendable evitar que el conector entre en contacto con la humedad

"Less than a week and it died", The adapter box gets extremenly hot, enough to wrinkle the label and melt in the center. Within 6 days it died completely.

"Stupid Adaptor", Well, this is the 1st computer I've had that has this type of adapter. My adapter plastic literally melted tonight as I was finishing installing Leopard on it and was almost fully charged. As I live in Costa Rica, not so easy or cheap replacing it. Ugh, terrible adapter design, the PC ones may be hideous, cause they are, but I haven't seen them melt. Ugh, out of commission till I can find its replacement. APPLE, IF UR LISTENING, MUST DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS IMMEDIATELY BEFORE IT EATS ALL OUR CHORDS!

"Can't beat the price...", ... on this MacBook adapter. Excellent pice, versus going to the Apple store, and speedy shipping to boot. Wish my original adapter was still working, but we are happy to have found this one!

"Not bad, but has a couple of 'gotchas'", First of all, understand - this is NOT an exact OEM replacement for the power cord that ships with Macbook - at least not mine. Look at the picture carefully - see how the prongs that plug into the wall are directly attached to the adapter box? That part will slide off. My original power adapter had a long, thick cord that attached there instead of the prongs directly on the adapter - this means that the new one has about half the reach that the original did. If your original cord is still intact from the point where it plugs into the wall to the adapter, you can slide it off, and put in on the new adapter, and all is good. This was the case for me, as the dog chewed off the thin side of the cable. If the problem is with the thick part of the cable though, you may be able to replace that part without this. Problem #2: The magsafe connector on the one I ordered was not very hardy - within about 5 uses, the plastic cover on the plug came loose - I have to be very careful with it now, or it slides right off. I'm not unhappy with this item, it does the job, and for the price reduction, I guess you get what you paid for - just be aware, this is not as strong as your original product.

"Essential", I've always found a second power adapter to be an essential accessory for any laptop. Due to Apple's restrictions on the MagSafe plug, you're stuck buying the official one. Just like the original, the size on these is brilliant, and the price is reasonable. I keep one at my desk at the office, and one at my desk in my home office. The home one often gets moved when I need more than battery power at another location.
