"This game is broken"
The game looks great, a Star Wars fan's dream. The story is almost fitting for the Star Wars Universe....BUT you will die alot, I mean alot. This is not for the game being hard...NO it's for the gameplay to be broken. You can tell the developers rushed this one! The glitchy deaths, the uneven platforming and oh and there's a part were the game gives you the wrong instructions! It seems no testing was done during post production. Pass on this one, maybe a rent only if your hard core into Star Wars. You will be mad playing this game. Thumbs way down.

"simply amazing"
now i'm not sure if you're not a star wars fan whether you'll like this game or not. graphics and gameplay wise this is a very good game. so you don't have to be a star wars fan to enjoy this title. if you've got a great sound system then you'll enjoy this game even more (whether you're playing on a home theater system or console speakers with a sub). you can't play this game on a tv with the sound coming from the tv, it's just not right. either use good headphones or get a decent speaker set up going because this is one game you don't want to miss out on with the whole experience!

"Force it"
It is like most Star Wars games. The problem I have with the game is that it takes forever to load anything. Overall the game is fairly decent but I am glad I bought it used and not full price otherwise I would be mad that I spent so much money.

"Power of The Force"
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is an amazing game that any fan of the Star Wars movies can enjoy. The story takes place between Episodes III and IV, and you play as Darth Vader's secret apprentice, Starkiller.

The gameplay is heavy on the action, with an emphasis on using your force powers. You'll also be using your lightsaber a lot, which is fun. You'll get to shock several enemies at once with force lighting, force push enemies into walls or force fields (destroying their bodies instantly), pick up and throw enemies, pick up an enemy and impale them with your lightsaber, or throw your lightsaber like the world's baddest boomerang.

All the while, you'll be leveling up your force powers and your abilities, plus unlocking new moves and combos. Even after you've beaten the game, you can start a new game with all your current stats, and continue to level them up until you've finally maxed out all your powers and created the ultimate Sith.

The story in this game is just great, I'd even say better than some of those prequel movies. The characters come to life with great animation and voice acting. It's just a great Star Wars story from start to finish, and has two different endings.

The graphics in this game are great too, with diversity in the worlds you travel onto. You'll travel to the Wookie homeworld, to a planet made of giant plant life, to a planet that is nothing but a giant junk yard, to inside a Tie fighter factory, and even into the Death Star itself. Some of these worlds you'll end up going to twice, but you're not backtracking through the exact same level as before. It'll be a new level, just on the same world. And especially if you have an HDTV, you'll defiantly be in for a treat visually.

Unfortunetly, the game is rather short. It should only last around 6 hours or so. So it's a bit of a quick wham bam thank you ma'am type of game. You'll be wishing there was more by the end of it, or wishing they had thrown in a couple of more levels to help make it longer. But like I said before, you can always play through again and continue to level up and to get the alternate ending.

If you're a Star Wars fan and love video games, then this is a great game to own. The story is awesome and shouldn't be missed, and using the powers of the force to throw around storm troopers like little ragdolls shouldn't be missed. The game also has several different difficulty levels, so you should be able to find just the right setting that balances out enjoyment with challange.

"Not KOTOR by any means"
I'll be honest and say that I only played this game once for a couple of hours or so. I was so completely unimpressed that I didn't want to play any further. I can't comment on the story but I will say that from what I've heard about being Darth Vader's apprentice and so forth, it sounds interesting. However, I couldn't get past the inaccurate aiming and controls. It just felt like I was pressing buttons and aiming with no real ability to choose my target or anything of that nature. You just have to aim in a general direction and hope for the best. I do think that I'm slightly biased since I've played the amazing Knights of the Old Republic, which is, in my opinion, the greatest Star Wars game ever made. This is a good rental, I suppose, but if I could choose again, I definitely wouldn't purchase this game again (the one I did buy has already been traded in).

What our customer's say!

"Great game, short campaign", The campaign may not be that long but the amount of things you can unlock makes up for it. You can play it over and over until you have beaten all difficulties and unlocked everything and then you will pretty much never take it out again unless you are mad and want to take it out on something like a couple of unlucky stormtroopers.

"Awesome game with a few flaws.", I cannot deny that this game has some issues, but when you actually get into it and enjoy the game, its an awesome experience.

From the moment you start playing, you can feel awesome power and almost limit-less opportunities to dispose of your enemies.

Don't overlook this title because someone else told to do so. Check it out and find out that its a really fun experience that will consume you!

"Another SW game that fails to deliver", The problem with this game is it doesn't have any polish to it. If you play the first level you have played all of the other levels. It tries to imitate god of war and doesn't even come close in any of the elements. How come there is a loading screen just to move around the menu? That is ridiculous. This game was pushed back a year from its original release date and I expected a lot more polished game because of it and we get a tech demo game with SW skins on top of it. The positives about this game were the background level art is amazing and using some of the force powers are fun (how come you can't move when using force grip? It makes no sense you just sit there and get blasted). Overall I was disappointed and would not recommend this game for more than a rental.

"Feel the force! Very theatrical.", Great game. Probably more appropriate for teen gamers than adults, but still lots of fun. Very theatrical. Almost like watching a missing film in the series. They definitely spent a lot on the cut scenes, and they look great. Gaming action is fun, but a bit of a button masher. Not a whole lot of strategy. Scored this one for $30. Wouldn't pay more.

"Great for star wars lovers and gamers", Great game. Challenging and very entertaining. I recommend reading some of the on-line material about the game before playing it, where you can find great hints about force upgrades...etc. Star wars fans will love this game. I tried the Jedi Temple add-on on this game, which can be downloaded from the Marketplace using an XBOX LIVE account, I loved it so much.

"Shadows for the new trilogy", The events in The Force Unleashed take place leading up to Ep. IV A New Hope. You take control of Darth Vader's assassin utilizing the force to wipe out his enemies. I won't give away any plot points here, however I will say that the cut scenes look amazing and the voice acting is well done in general.

I would compare this game to a blend of Shadows of the Empire and KOTOR. Shadows, because it fills in the gaps between movies in the franchise but it introduces new characters as well as utilizes some familiar faces such as Leia, Bail Organa, Vader and the Emperor. The only similarities it shares with KOTOR is that you play as a Sith and you've got your lightsaber, but it's not as in depth with your decision making as KOTOR was more of a straigh RPG whereas Force Unleashed is primarily an action game with RPG elements like leveling up, but you can't stray from the main storyline.

The graphics looked great and I really got the hang of the controls quite easily. I've heard a lot of complaints in this area of the game, but with a little practice I was able to master the art of locking on, gripping objects or enemies and throwing them into other enemies. I really had a blast having control of the force and finding new ways to take on my opponents. Believe me there's nothing more fun than sending an enemy flying into a force field and watching them dissapear in a flash or blowing them out a ship's window into space. Taking on AT-STs and Rancors was also fun, destroying them with a button combination.

And of course the best part of any SW game, the music. Having the entire SW music catalog at their disposal, LucasArts puts a lot of great dramatic melodies throughout the levels. I noticed quite a bit of it was pulled right out of Shadows which was a nice nostalgic touch. It never really gets that repetitive and between that and the cinematics makes you feel as if you are playing the action sequences of a SW movie.

Really a lot of fun, maybe not so much for replay value, but I had a blast making my way through it. Maybe more worth renting than buying, especially if you're not a big SW fan, but if you are, you'll want to add this to your collection.

"Fun but not very durable.", When I saw the Force Unleashed coming out for the 360 I knew I was going to get it. When I did get it boy did I enjoy, that is until I reached one of the levels. The level is Felucia and when I got to the part where I had to go through a pair of doors, IT FROZE! I tried it again after cleaning it, but it did no good. So my dad and I exchanged it for another one. I tried it again and it FROZE IN THE EXACT SAME SPOT. So my dad and I exchanged it for another one. I tried it again and it FROZE IN THE EXACT SAME SPOT AGAIN. So my dad looked on the computer and found out that there were a whole bunch of problems with is so we took it back at just got my money back. I'll tell you it is very fun, but not very durable. SO BE CAUTIOUS when you are thinking of buying it.

""Terrific" Effort ... "Pretty Good" Result", I was first made aware of 'Force Unleashed' about two years ago at a trade show. Lucas Arts had sponsored a presentation where they chose to show off the Pixelux created "Digital Molecular Matter (DMM)" and naturalmotion's "Euphoria" engines that were under development. DMM meant that, in the game environment, wood would break like wood, glass would shatter, and metal would bend, and so on. The euphoria engine meant that, to a degree, enemy AI would all act independently. Trying to throw a storm trooper over a railing? He's going to try to grab anything in reach to prevent him from being thrown. It was all wildly impressive stuff, and when applied to a theme of "unleashing the force" everyone thought this was a game that had the potential to be a real mold-breaker.

So did Lucas Arts come through in reinventing the wheel? Well ... yes and no. Both the DMM and EE are every bit as impressive as we were lead to believe they would be. In the demo alone, I had a blast just running around breaking stuff. I can't even describe how giddy I was watching a storm trooper flail around wildly as i either flung him into another group of enemies or off of a bridge. Using force-blast to plow my way across a bridge or cat-walk will just give you a tremendous sense of satisfaction. 'Force Unleashed' is a terrific effort and there's certainly enough working here to absolutely make this worth checking out.

I don't want to do anything to spoil the story-line, but I thought it did a great job of bridging the gap between the prequel trilogy and the original films (episode III-IV). I'd have no hesitation saying that I'd take the story in 'Force Unleashed' over the animated theatrical 'Clone Wars' abomination that we were subjected to. Although I felt the in-game romance for the Apprentice is a bit shoe-horned, in my opinion, the plot is one of the game's highlights.

The look of the game is impressive. Levels are beautifully rendered, all the character's movements are all fluid, and the sound is vintage Star Wars. All of it looks and sounds like it belongs without a hair out of place.

I liked the way you could use the in-game point's system for 'Force Unleashed' to customize how you use the force. Do you want to max-out your health or lower the time it takes for your force power to recharge? Decisions like this will effect how you attack your foes and provide you with a more unique gaming experience.

As much as I wanted this to be a mold-breaking masterpiece however, it just isn't. 'Unleashed' made a few missteps that really cripple the game. Although your newfound force powers are immensely fun to control, the targeting system is terribly frustrating. The fact that the environment is so destructible and interactive is almost a blessing and a curse. While it's wildly fun to go into a room or a space and tear it apart, there'll be so much debris lying around it becomes difficult to target the right piece to force grip or the correct enemy to attack. The game will try and target the closest thing the CHARACTER is looking at instead of what the PLAYER is using the camera to look at. In my opinion, I felt this led me to having to adjust the camera way more then I felt I should have. In the middle of a battle, this is something that can become irritating rather quickly.

Although I thought that level design LOOKED beautiful, they travel awfully linear. Every level is strictly a journey from point A to point B. You're never really given the chance to find your own way around. I go back to just how awesome it would be to travel an open-world environment similar to Grand Theft Auto. This is a common gripe of mine, but I also hate back-tracking through an already explored world. I'd say about forty percent of the back-half of 'Force Unleashed' is going to be spent in places you already feel like you've been.

As cool as using the force is, the longer you play the game the more of a slashing light-saber game this turns into. It's as if Lucas Arts was never able to correctly figure out how to give you all these awesome powers to control without making the game too easy. In the final third of the game, I felt like you were running into too many enemies that were able to block all of my force powers. There's also a disproportion in the strength of the enemies you'll run into. The worst example is that I can take on waves of Tie-Fighters and rip a Star Destroyer out of orbit, and yet I'm running for my life from a few Dark Troopers? It just doesn't make a tremendous amount of sense. There should have been a much better balance here then there is.

Some of the boss fights can be extremely tedious, especially if you're playing on higher difficulties. One of the things that drove me the craziest is the amount of "cheap-shots" that are allowed to be taken at your expense. Whether it's allowing a boss to hit you while you're laying on the ground, defenseless; or the way you'll be fighting one-on-one with a rancor, only to be randomly blind-sided. There are a few moments that'll have you ready to throw your controller against a wall.

I know these issues I have sound like a lot and I really don't mean it to. 'Force Unleashed' is no worse then one of the top three Star Wars games available on a next-gen console. In my opinion, I have no regrets about having paid sixty-bucks for it. If the price goes down, it's absolutely worth a purchase. It's just a shame that the game's reach didn't seem to match the ambitions it appeared Lucas Arts had for it. As it stands now, the original 'Knights of the Old Republic' is still king of the hill.

"OMG", Ok, first of all, awesome graphics, awesome force powers, plot is ok (good for Star Wars), loads of fun stuff, very few bugs and lots of stuff you'll recognize from the movies. The game story is like the filler between Episode III and Episode IV and it's good. It gets 3's from me because somewhere in all that goodness, someone decided to mess around with the game play.

Be prepared for frustration later in the game:
First: Cinematic Camera... GRR! I hate the thing. At least let me switch to first person or make the thing sensitive enough to look QUICKLY!!! I have the thing on the most sensitive and looking around takes ages. Not fun when you're being attacked from all angles. Also, some kind of indication from where you're taking damage would be good; Starkiller is this all-powerful force being after all.

Second: Targeting, in a word, retarded. It targets where you're facing not where you're looking. What's up with that? Now when an enemy is attacking from the side, I first have to find him with the camera from above which takes ages, then I have to face the guy to do anything about it, takes double the time to respond.

Third: Combos. Someone shoot the guy who implemented that. It's a cool idea, a bit like Mortal Kombat, BUT, badly implemented. Say I hit X (the attack button) 3 times, Starkiller does an awesome combo moving forwards in the direction he's facing, say there's a nice ledge in his path, Starkiller goes over. Hello!!!!! All-powerful force being, mistiming his moves and going off an edge? I should be able to walk off edges, jump off edges, and dash off edges, but a combo plummeting me to certain death? That sucks. AND what's up with making a combo n times the attack button, that's retarded! You always land up doing combos.

Fourth: Recovery Time / Action Delay. Say you get zapped, it takes you a little while to recover, no worries. Why stand up with your guard down just so you get zapped again and repeat the process? You have to furiously hit jump to get unpinned. Also, when you do get up, Starkiller takes his time prepping to do anything like attack or use force powers. This doesn't seem to get better with upgrades either.

Fifth: It's a great game. Yes, that's right it's a great game and that's what makes it so frustrating. If the game sucked, I could just toss it out for its bad game play, but it's a great game so you want to play it and can't help getting really irate with the bad game play.

I wish they would release a patch to add additional options like: "Target where Starkiller looks", "First person mode" and ensure that each combo uses more than just one button to activate and that Starkiller doesn't drop his guard when attacked.

I regret buying it because I have to play it which causes frustration.

"Lame", Lame. The word to describe this waste of your time and money. The story is lame, and at times will make you cringe. The game play is lame as you seem to do the same thing over and over and over again. There are far better Star Wars video games. There is no creative aspect to this game. Yes, there are some cool force powers, but KOTOR had that. The story confuses several pre-New Hope story lines, and has nothing to offer other than another example of how Lucasarts cares only for sales.
