"Orange box is good, Portal is better." The Orange Box is a really awesome video game. Half-life 2 and Episode 1 and 2 are very intriguing. The game play can get a little boring after a while if you're more into that Call of Duty style shoot-em-up. Half-Life 2 is really more of a puzzle-shooter. However, it is highly enjoyable, and beatable in about a week if you devote a good bit of time to it. Team Fortress 2 is a lot of fun, but I wouldn't buy it just for that. Now, Portal, that is what the Orange Box is all about. Portal is an original awesome puzzle game that you would have never expected to be so fun. The game is beatable in about 3-4 hours for your highly motivated thinker/game player. The best part though, is once you've beat the game, going back and trying to get the achievements. I would highly recommend the Orange Box to everyone.
"5 FREAKING GAMES FOR 30 bucks! " Half Life 2, Half Life 2 Episode 1 and 2, Team Fortess, and Portal. If anyone with a brain can see, five game for only thirty dollars is a bargain. It has a great line up from the Half life games, Portal, and Team Fortress. This pack will keep you busy for awhile. Portal is the greatest game that's been created for such a long time, it's design and concept will blow you away. Lets see, Half Life games is great single player experience, it has Portal which is the puzzle shooter that everyone's been waiting for, and Team Fortress, the critically exclaimed as the best multiplayer to come to the Xbox.
"With this kind of value how can you go wrong?" The Orange Box has won a lot of praise from all over. For the most part I agree but I think it needs to be quantified. Is there any part of TOB that's going to blow you away? No. Everyone's played HL2 before so it's nothing too new. Mind you, it was cool on the PC when it came out a few years ago but it's the still the same on the 360. The other games are fun too but by themselves they aren't anything tremendous. The graphics aren't exactly knocking the walls down either. But don't that that turn you off. What it does have is a hugh amount of good solid content all rolled together. You just can beat the value TOB offers of the serios or casual gamer. There really something for everyone. I would give this a solid buy recommendation to just about anyone with an XBox 360.
"Almost a year and still going strong!" It has almost been a year since The Orange Box released and I still almost play it at least three times a week! This is by far the best deal ever in gaming. There is something for everyone to enjoy. If you have never played half life, they are all included in this GAME! Portal is amazing and TF2 is why I still play a year later. First and only game I have paid $60 for and can say its worth the money!
"Hours of Engaging, Breakthrough Gameplay" Portal and Half-Life are two of the most interesting and unique games I've played on the XBox. They're as good as BioShock and Halo.
Half-Life 2: Episode 1 has some slow spots - too many zombies Episode 2 is different and surprising - with a great hot-rod sequence and a frightening new enemy - the Hunter.

What our customer's say!
"Great set of games even for a non-gamer!", I'm a middle-aged woman who just can't seem to get the hang of the game controllers. I know, so sad and lame--and I'm usually pretty coordinated. But I LOVED both "Half-life" games--I sit next to my husband and shout at him at while he controls the action. "Half-life", unlike many other gaming titles, has a progressive, linear plot, and requires enough thoughtful strategy that I could actually make worthwhile contributions without a controller! "Portal" is also a fun *team* endeavour. Can't wait for the next Half-Life!
"Pretty lame game", I bought this game used in late 2008. If you enjoy moaning bloody zombies and spiders that try to jump on your face in a game that looks and plays like its from 1998, then this is your game.
Portal was pretty cool though not worth the price of the game alone.
"Great value", Essentially five games in 1. And these aren't your average games. Half-Life is amazing, Portal is thought provoking, and TF2 is flat out fun. At this price you can't go wrong. BUY IT!!!
"Awareness", Portal - I like puzzles... and videogames. What better way to fuse the two than with this one? No points, no power-ups and certainly no 'extra' lives. It is like a 3D LodeRunner, with a disturbing twist. I am currently on the achievement hunt(30K ft? Go make a sandwich!) I quite enjoy the 'good solution' concept rather than a 'perfect' one. 'Cake or death?!' Um, I'll have cake please. Half-Life2 (et al) - I played its predecessor on the PC years ago. I gotta say, the magic is still there. Huge environs, bizaar puzzles, great backstory. Team Fortress - Lost alot of hours online with the PC version. Not sure that I am sold on the facelift. It looks cartoonish. I haven't walked around enough to get the feel of it yet. I will get around to it... SQ!
"Great Collection, Great Value", Five games, one box, $27 dollars. There isn't a better value in gaming right now. Half Life 2, Episode 1 and Episode 2 are basically all the same game. Sure, HL2 has outdated graphics but the gameplay is engaging and wide ranging. Half-Life's story itself is very interesting and it kind of drives me nuts that its going to have taken over 10 years for the whole tale to be told.
Portal, the next game, is the most unique game I've ever played. Describing it as a first person puzzle game will have to suffice but it doesn't do it justice. Portal challenges the way you think. Toss in the ridiculous humor and the re-playability (a variety of difficulty levels) and you have a great game; most of the most unique things to hit the market in years.
The last game, Team Fortress two, the sequel to the grand daddy of team based combat. It's incredibly simple, but also incredibly fun.

"Excellent value, around 30 hours of good times!", The Orange Box rocks for 4 games and does well in the 5th.
Having played HL2 on the PC, I first jumped into portal:
Portal is a first person puzzle game with some quality writing for the AI that accompanies you through your levels. Clever players are required here and I enjoyed the challenges involved. Puzzles are tough, but not too tough to reduce the fun. Level designers were careful to leave hints about where to put things in the first few levels. They also occasionally restrict you from an obvious cheat by making some floors/ceilings/walls incapable of opening a portal. The end was a lot of fun and was an excellent "final test" of the skills you developed during the puzzles.
HL2 is such a high quality game, but appears a bit dated even on the 360. I won't say much about it here, since the controls transferred well and the difference between PC / 360 was pretty minor.
Episode 1 and Episode 2 were also enjoyable, episode 1 clearly feeling like an addition and not quite as polished a game experience as HL2. But Episode 2 was pretty fun until the end, when the player gets overwhelmed in a siege scenario and only awesome basketball skills will get him/her out. (play it... you'll understand what I mean later).
Finally that leaves TF2. I suppose i'm jaded after playing hundreds of hours of TF on "GLQuake" and TF on half-life so maybe my opinion here should be taken with a grain of salt. It's a good time but as I've found with most other xbox multiplayer games there isn't as strong a community (I don't know to specify a favorite server to play at)... and the lack of custom server rules has made things a bit more bland. I used to like the server-customized sounds and music of the old TF on quake... but hey.
anyways for the 360 this game has put together the best ratio of fun per dollar. Definitely worth it's weight.
"AmAzInG GaMe!", This game is truly a must have for video gamers. It's been rated 9.5 out of 10 and it well deserves it. It's 5 games on 1 disc and it's packed with hours of exciting game play. purchase this game and you will not regret it!
"This game sounds like a hell of alot of fun.", Based on the reviews.... this game sounds really fun. But what i want to know is does it require xbox live? None of the reviews mentioned this.
"Great game", Valve put together a great package here. Portal is better with a mouse, but then *everything* is. Hadn't played HL2 in ages and Eps 1 & 2 are good as well. And Portal and TF2 are nothing to scoff at. Thoroughly recommend for the FPS fan.
"if only the freeman would freeroam a little", i'm a mature gamer who bought a dozen videogames with an xbox to see how the technology has evolved. i played the half life and portal games on a 42" lcd screen and had great fun with them. the visual design is beautiful and the landscapes are interesting to explore. the action sequences involve the first person annihilation of some fairly rudimentary skull suckers, soldiers and zombielike critters with various firearms, and using a gravity gun to hurl and smash anything else. there is always enough health and ammo to keep you going, and a few puzzle tasks here and there to change the tempo. my main complaint is the plotting: your avatar, dr. freeman, is continually pushed into one plot exigency or another by the whims and decisions of his female companion, alex vance, who is certainly sexy in her low riders and tight jacket but is highhanded and in the end annoying. i was sorry my gravity gun did not enable me to give her a good spanking. but off i went, here and there, at her bidding, and once i forgot it was her idea in the first place the missions were compelling to complete: the whole dystopian world of aliens and biomorphs is spectacularly detailed. i encountered none of the bugs or glitches reported by other reviewers, but it's a shame that the engine must stop the action to load from disk as often as it does.
