"Disney rocks again!"
As a birthday gift for my 11 year old daughter, this was awesome. It is not only a game she can play with her friends, but also a game she and I can play together. We have truly enjoyed the interaction. Very little repeating and the questions are challenging for adults as well as children. I strongly recommend this game as a family event.

"Great for Disney Fans"
I got this for my niece and her family (other kids and parents). They are Disney nuts. They said they really enjoyed receiving it.

It comes in a tin, so there is no cardboard box to get damaged. That's nice.

This is a great excuse for those who receive it to buy more Disney movies in order to research for the game. :)

I marked it 3 stars for educational since playing does require memory of the movies.

I was proud to give this gift, and got it for a great price.

"Great for kids who love disney"
My kids love this game we play it alot, my daughter is too good for me. Great game if you love Disney shows.

"Fun but Too Difficult for Younger Kids"
I am the oldest of 8 and, being much older than some of my siblings, I get to play the fun "aunt" and have game nights where they come over to my apartment. The hardest thing is finding something that everyone that comes (ages 7-23) will like and be able to do.

I thought this game was the perfect answer. Unfortanetly I was dissapointed as it is too difficult for younger ages and some of the movies pre-date what very young kids might have seen.

How It's Played:
The DVD has a very clear video explanation of how to play, but the basic premise of the game is a board game with a DVD extra. You set up the board game, choose your game piece, and go through the options on the DVD. You roll two dice (one with the question category and one with the number of spaces you can move if you get the answer right.)
(As a note, with younger children I just let them roll the category die first, and then if they get it right they can roll the number die.)
The categories are "all play" "my play" "take three" "songs, slongans, and sayings" "mousellaneous", "buzz cards", and "player's choice."

(FYI Examples are from kids cards)

"Take Three" You get three clues and you must guess the answer within 10-30 seconds. (Ex. What heroic Dinsey character is helped by a dragon and a cricket, must become a soldier, and wants to bring honor to her family? Answer: Mulan)

"Songs, Slogans, and Sayings"
10-30 seconds to answer question. (Example: "Gaston" is a song about a brutsih villan of what Disney classic?" Answer: Beauty and the Beast.)

"Mouselanous"
Pretty much every question they could think of that did not fit other categories. (Example: What four children are from Finchley? Answer: Lucy, Edumnd, Peter and Susan Pevensie from The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe.)

"Buzz Cards"
Pick up a card and in a cute Disney way it tells you to move forward or back. (Example: "The Mad Hatter and March Hare are hapy to discover that it's your un-birthday! Move ahead three spaces as younjoy a tea party celebration!)

"My Play"
A 30 second movie clip from a Disney movie plays and a question follows. The question may be triva (such as what movie is this scene from?) or just observation (such as "What did the cats knock over first in this scene?")

"All Play"
This is an all out everyone plays. It can be a variation of my play in which a 30 second clip plays and a question follows, a list of 5 clues (read aloud) are listed and a character must be guessed, a "what character was cut out of this scene", a "remember where the villan is hidden in a 9-square puzzle, or a few other options.

They are all randomized (and all pretty fun).

If the person who rolled wins they move forward their rolled amount. If another person wins they move forward one space.

The object of the game is to get to the winners circle first and win the "All Play to Win."

Pros:
*Classic & fun Disney clips our entertaining for all ages
*The board part of the game gives you the option of folding it out for long games or folding it in for a much shorter game
*The DVD is very well done, easy to use, and fun
*You have many customizable options (such as 10 seconds, 20 seconds, or 30 seconds to answer the questions.)

Cons:
*I expected this "updated" version to focus primarily on newer movies, but several of the questions and clips actually came from older movies (a few I didn't even know)
*The "adult" cards can be very difficult, even for the older players. Many of the questions aren't about movie content but who wrote a song in a particular movie or what was the name of someone who voiced a character in a movie. I didn't know these answers and neither did most of the older kids & adults who played.
*Younger children easily become distracted and bored with this game that I expected to be fun (and actually purchased with them in mind) for them. I play with younger kids on teams, but we still play shorter games or they get bored.

Verdict:
A fun game, I don't regret buying it. The 6+ age category is probably a stretch as I have found this game is much more fun with kids 9+... Younger kids can get bored or confused with the questions and probably require a partner. If you love Disney movies you will probably enjoy this game!

"Seen it..Like it"
This is a great family time toy. Once you start playing it is hard to stop and the surprises keep coming.

What our customer's say!

"Thinking Game", My Great Niece wanted this and loves playing it. It really makes you think and also works on you recall abilities and memory. Great service. Thank you.

"Shawn Mesa's Review", Wonderful product! Beautiful tin cannnister provided! Great for all you Disney Trivia fans, from 2 years old on up!

Fun family game!!

"Great game - BUT BEWARE of Amazon shipping bait and switch", We hsve a few other Scene it games but my daughter can never really play them with us. She LOVES this version and is really good at it. Now WE are the one that don't know any of the answers.

Now onto MY RANT about Amazon shipping practices...

The Rock Band order fiasco. I found Rock Band for PS2 in local stores for $150 or more. I decided to check Amazon and was please to see that it was $99. SCORE - and with Prime, I would get it OVERNIGHT for only $3.99 more. I ordered Rock Band on December 27th through Amazon prime. I paid the extra money for the "OVERNIGHT" shipping option so that it would arrive BEFORE New Years Eve (as it was planned for a party). It was scheduled to arrive on Tuesday December 30th (since the order took place over the weekend)which would have left PLENTY of time.

HOWEVER - AMAZON's useless shipping department did not send this package overnight-as I paid for. They instead decided that UPS ground would suffice since it was shipping within the same zone. HERE is the problem with this fraudulent practice - UPS, like any other shipper prioritizes it packages based on actual shipping service purchased. Since this item was a GROUND package, it sat on the truck ALL day and ultimately was returned to the distribution center AFTER 7:00 PM. Also, since it was GROUND, it did not go out for delivery on the following day (12/31) since this was a limited service day for air packages only. AGAIN, if Amazon had shipped it properly, it would have been delivered on 12/31. REMEMBER I PAID for OVERNIGHT service.

I was able to prove this shipping problem was caused by Amazons practice of not properly handling a shipment, based on another order. The second order was also place with Amazon prime on MONDAY 12/29. Since it was not urgent, I opted for the FREE 2nd Day delivery. That package actually shipped via 2nd day air (as expected) and due to class of serivce (air) it was delivered on 12/31 (the holiday). It is now FRIDAY 1/2 and I still have not yet rec'd my Rock Band order. IT WILL BE REFUSED WHENEVER IT IS FINALLY DELIVERED as I bought the exact same product from Walmart on Wednesday morning for the SAME PRICE.

I complained to Amazon about this and the best they would do is refund my shipping and offer me $5.00 off my NEXT purchase. Why would I purchase from them again after this terrible experience.

In summary - BEWARE OF THE SHIPPING Bait and Switch! Use Amazon's site for your research and customer reviews. If you like the item and want to buy it, see if you can get it local for the same deal - if so TAKE IT. Don't trust Amazon's shipping dept. or expect good customer service! If they keep this up - they will go the way of SO MANY companies today and be gone in a heartbeat.

"They did it again!", We have the original Scene It, Disney, and have played it so much we have memorized a lot of the answers. We like this new one because it has questions from more recent movies that my kids have seen, where as with the original there were some movies they hadn't seen because they were from so long ago. We love the concept of this game, and all the Scene it games (we have the Nickolodean one, too), and will continue to add to our collection.

"FUN GAME FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY", My Daughter received the Scene It Deluxe Disney 2nd Edition game and the whole family has played it together several times. It's a really fun game but would be better for older kids (at least 8 years old) who watch a lot of disney shows. Some of the questions are very difficult and my 5 year old Son didn't have a chance. My 7 year old Daughter was doing ok with it but it was still difficult for her as well.

"Perfect for all ages, even non-Disney fans!", My brother got this game for me as a joke since I'm such a huge Disney buff. I coaxed a few of my friends (all ages 20 to 21) into playing with me, promising them it'd just be one game. Four hours and five games later (I'm serious!), we were yelling out answers for All Play and jumping up to find the hidden Mickey ears. My friends didn't know too much about Disney movies, but enough to beat me for most of the night and have fun while doing so. The game gives two colors of trivia cards - green for easy and magenta for hard - so by giving me the hard ones and everyone else the easy ones, the playing field was leveled.

I was disappointed, though, to find video repeats within the fourth game or so. The video clips have many different questions attached to it, but we were getting the same clip AND question. Not only that, but the clips seemed to be mostly (almost a third of the time) about Chicken Little! There were none of the classics I was hoping for, like Sleeping Beauty or Peter Pan.

These disappointments were very minor, though, during game play. We just skipped the repeats, too anxious to get to the next question. Overall, this is one of the best games I've seen and played; I suggest it to anyone, although having a little Disney love wouldn't hurt.

""Scene-It" is as it Says", I could not give this any "educational rating" as this is a game that centers around memory to be sure, but the memories are not of ABC's and 123's rather of Children's or G rated movies. As such I'm really not sure how comfortable I am even with the memorization to give it that style of rating. Other than that here goes. My son and I had a great time playing this game. I had gotten it for him as a holiday gift. We played a few times and had quite a few laughs. If any critique could be given it would be that the more players the better and I imagine for a family time together larger than 2 or get together's this is a great game for kids and parents as we parents have seen all the same movies as our kids. The board can be set-up for a short game or a long one as it folds within itself. The game play can also be modified depending on players preferences, number of players, time which make the game very renewable. The game library is substantial and I seriously doubt you will catch the same question within a dozen or more games. I also liked that it came in a tin, for me a bit of nostalgia and practical application it will store better and longer than a cardboard box. It's a great game and will give you and yours many hours of enjoyment.

"Classsic Disney", The whole family enjoys this game because it includes new and old Disney movies as well as some of the less well known offerings. It's a great way to bring the family together and enjoy playing in teams or singles.

"Family fun game", The game is really fun the whole family got into this game. Sometimes the kids get too excited and EVERYBODY starts screaming, but it's all good fun. They don't give you that much of an explaination in the directions on how to play the game, but if you spend sometime with it you pick up on it. The music is great, the questions are fun, and the game will make you want to spend time with your family. I loved it!

"Scene It", SceneIt, Disney, 2nd Edition, is a fun game. We are just figuring it out, and while it seems relatively user-friendly, it isn't as engaging as we had hoped it would be. It isn't educational--just fun.
