"Constant dropouts with Vonage" I bought this router to replace my old 802.11b D-Link router. Everything appeared to be working correctly but we began to have constant dropouts with our Vonage phone service. At first I didn't make the connection that it could be the router and assumed I had a technical problem with Vonage or my ISP. After working with both and changing port settings per Vonage recommendations, I continued to have dropouts during every call. Finally, I decided to try the old router on a whim. The dropouts disappeared completely. Next I tried a firmware update which did nothing to solve the problem. Then I tried putting the Vonage ATA on the DMZ - no luck again. Since then, I replaced the router with a Linksys and like my older router, it doesn't cause problems.
"worst reliability experienced" Went through two of these routers in 14 months. Now out of warranty and out of luck. Don't buy this product if you want a reliable router!
"Won't work with G4 Powerbook or B wifi adapter, bad customer support" I got a great response from D-Link regarding how to open ports, but when I had to call them directly because my Powerbook G4 1Ghz wouldn't connect to the router (sees it, but won't connect) I got a guy with a thick accent who kept asking remedial questions and offering no good advice. He was finally upgrading my problem to a higher level of support (duh) when he then hung up on me. I will never EVER buy D-link again. Going back to Netgear, or maybe an Airport.
"Good router" I've had no problems reported by others here. I have hardware revision B2 with the latest firmware 2.25. I didn't use the software that came with it just used a browser to configure the router. I had to select wpa/aes to get n speeds on my wireless pcs.
Setup took about 30 mins.
"D-Link DIR-615 HORRIBLE, DROPS SIGNALS" 1. 21 Nov 08 purchase. Required 1 1/2 hours of D-Link Tech Support just to get the router to work with Time Warmer Cable (San Diego, CA). 2. Worked great for five days. 3. On the 6th day, over and oer, the router dropped the wireless signal after being online about 2-5 minutes. 4. Spent another 1/2 hour online with the D-Link Tech Support help desk, they suggested I return the defective router. 5. Day 7 - the router is going back to the store and I will purchase another brand. 6. Had a Zyxel X-500 router before. It was incredible. I'll go with that again, or a newer model.

What our customer's say!
"nice range", Bought this router to set up a wirelss network on a farm.As soon as we hooked it up we got a usable signal at 800'.Pretty amazing considering trees and a hill are between the gateway and the adapter on the remote pc. Sadly the signal is about 50" short of the building we need internet access . Was unable to connect with a G laptop but didn't have enough time to try and fix the problem.
"Had two and they both are bad routers", I have 2 of these routers and both are junk. One the AP keeps failing if more than 2 wireless devices are connected too it, it causes the router to reboot. Contacted support for replacement and after 30-45 minute wait for support they had me reset it twice. and it still failed. They finally told me it was my laptop's that caused the problem. Funny because my laptops work everywhere else. The other after 3 months of working the AP log read kernel: WLAN: MLME - Disconnecting (deauth) wireless client: ffffffffffff Reason 3 and that was the end of my use of any dlink product. I have use dlink for years and there products have worked great, I will no longer use there products. I am an outsource IT provider and I will no longer recommed or install any of there products. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT, IT IS A PIECE OF CRAP.D-Link DIR-615 4-Port 10/100 Mbps Wireless N Router
"Too complicated for the novice user, not plug and play friendly", No- it does not work out of the box. DLink tech support is zero on a scale of one to ten. They claim to be in California but it's clearly somewhere in India. With a dozen calls to tech support, I received 12 different configurations, non of them worked to perfection. The DIR-615 was fast, then slow, then fast, then would just freeze up. DLink told me to call my ISP; my ISP told me to call Netgear (wireless card); Netgear told me to call my ISP; it was ridiculous. It took me a good three weeks to "finally" get it configured to a very good result on CNET's speed test. Spent one entire Saturday from 8am to 8pm on the phone, different configurations, etc. Do not use the Wireless Assistant that comes with the CD, it slows down the connection. You'll need to "bridge" your DSL modem and set up the dir-615 to pppoe. Make sure you have the correct Ip addy's and DSN's from your ISP. On my laptop, it would connect but could not browse any websites. DLink wanted me to configure my wireless card and I told them "no way". Wireless should work "anywhere" with any card. How is it that I can log on at a hotel or an airport or at Starbucks with no problem but DLink insists that I have to configure my card for my home?... BS! After surfing on the web on a different computer and reading similar connection issues I took a few suggestions and wholla, everything came together. My wireless is set to "find an ip address automatically" and not configured to what Dlink had suggested. I had a Linksys 80211b for 3 years with NOT ONE PROBLEM before it died on me and I bought the dir-615. Someone told me to give it about 3 weeks and the modem will start behaving badly again. Let's wait and see. Bottom line, the dir-615 seems to be working fine. DLink tech support sucks and I would avoid anything having to do with them. If you like to tinker and have the time, consider it a challenge. But if you want plug and play, don't buy this router. If your looking for perfection in connectivity, installation and qualified technical support, this is not the router for you. And to DLink, bring the tech jobs back to the US with good old red blooded, English speaking Americans on the other line and don't ask "what is the problem" instead say, "how may I assist you"..............
"Spend a little more money for a better product", Buyer beware! I bought one of these from a big box store when I saw the low price and wanted to upgrade my old G-class router. The setup was needlessly complex and the signal coming from the DIR-615 continually fluctuated between weak and just under maximum. I suppose I could reluctantly recommend this router for those who just do light web surfing and email, but if you need a strong, fast wireless network for gaming, large downloads, work purposes, etcetera... spend more money on a better quality router.
"So far so good!", All I can say is I got it this afternoon and getting 8 times faster wireless and wired connection than my one-year old junk WRT54G. I should note that my connection plan is not over 802.11g limits. And more interestingly, my connection speed is much more faster than what I am subscribed to pay for.
A reminder: I got hardware version B2 with firmware 2.23 and upgraded to 2.25

"The Best Router", This is the best router: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000QD7B6W/ref=cm_cr_rev_prod_title The best deal, the best value, the best technical support and the best quality! That's all I want to say.
"Slightly better than garbage", Picked one of these up from J&R last week...I'm pretty tech savvy and have set up several routers before, but this one took me about 7 hours over 2 days. When I entered the password for network security in the only possible box for it, it still would not recognize the pass when I would try to connect. Eventually it started working although I have no idea what I did, but it would only connect at 11 Mbps rather than 54, even if my computer was directly next to the router. The net was far too sluggish going through the router, so I sent it back for a linksys, which I had up and running perfectly in 15 min. Technically it did transmit data so I gave it better than a 1, but don't waste your time on this p.o.s.
"Its okay", For the price its a steal, but the signal strength isnt impressive. ITs not gigabit. It may be complicated to set up for new users. MAKE SURE to put MAC filtering for added protection
"Works as advertised.. so far", I can cautiously recommend trying this router provided you can return it if you have problems. I have the dreaded (by some) A1 hardware revision, but without the problems others mention. This was the cheapest N router around at the time.
The router set-up is easy if you are familiar with routers. However, do not rely on the wizard provided and be prepared to set it up manually. I will not fault D-link to much for that, as in my experience automatic router setup programs from Linksys and Netgear did not work any better either.
Make sure you upgrade firmware immediately to the latest available. It now remains to be seen how long this router will stay working. So far, I have no reason to regret buying it.
"Works OK", So, I went down to fry's yesterday to buy a router. I'd never had one before, so this is all kind of new to me. (The wireless connection I used to leech dropped out). Set up was kind of a hassle, I would say if you know anything about anything, don't use their wizards, do it manually. Wireless N works fine. My only problem, the antennas are TERRIBLE. T E R R I B L E. And there's no way to replace them. My house is 1200 square feet (albeit with a lot of walls in it) and I get zero bars with signal to no signal at all at the far end of the house. Anything larger, i would go for something a bit more expensive. I'm using Version C1, with firmware 3.0
