"Microsoft Works", I hardly use my word processor, etc. so having a program which suits me well at a low price was my choice for Works. The program arrived on time and my only criticism is that I found opening the plastic case daunting. Other than that, I am pleased with it.

"Boycott Microsoft", I have been buying the Microsoft Works Suite for many years. It had handled all my home computing needs. I last bought the 2006 Works Suite package and decided since I hadn't upgraded it in a while I would get the latest copy of the software (Works 9).

I did not realize when I bought (and opened) the software that the 800lb Gorilla had stripped out MS Money, MS Encarta and MS Streets & Trips from Works. Now the Gazillion Dollar Corporate behemoth has multiple versions of Money, Encarta, Streets & Trips all for many more bucks than Works used to sell for. In fact, there's so many versions that now I'm completely confused about what version of software to buy. It's almost as confusing as the dozens of versions of MS Office they are selling. It's almost as frustrating as their 4 gigabyte RAM hungry VISTA garbage operating system. It's just one more reason to throw Microsoft and the PC in the garbage can and buy an Apple with Leopard. Boycott Microsucks!

"I FOUND IT AT AMAZON.COM AND IT "WORKS" by MICROSOFT!", Wanna' learn accounting, bookkeeping, keep all of your "stuff" in an organized data base, are you a writer, want to tell us all about your life, or write about events, history, how's about calendars, greeting cards, or perhaps put together an auction in minutes, using graphics, pictures from file, with every color available in the RAINBOW, and FONTS GALORE......then, you should hook yourself onto WORKS (by MICROSOFT) v. 9.0. It's doable, inexpensive, does everything that a child, teenager, or adult might need when the time is right to GET IT ALL DOWN, spell check, grammar, add those IMPACT GRAPHICS..........print, and PUBLISH! IT "WORKS" - believe me IT "WORKS" (by Microsoft) v. 9.0. Thank you for this opportunity to comment.

"Senior Citizen Tackles Works 9 ", This 62 year old gal stepped out of her comfort zone and into Microsoft Works 9.....It's a pussycat and I have her purring like a kitten. In no time, I whipped out a database for the church and a Honey Do list for Pappy.

And all 500 recipes are now easy to find and to hand out to friends. My next adventure will be the Christmas Card List.

Yup, Works 9 and me are getting on just fine. Thanks Microsoft....

Read this reviews before You buy...

"more over-priced nonsense", First, you should know that Open Office from Sun Microsystems blows away MS Works and is absolutely free.

Second, Works still has features that it can't support. For example, it has greeting card templates, but does not have features like "rotate" that are absolutely necessary if you're going to make a greeting card!

In fact, Works is sadly lacking in features. It looks fancy, but its functionality is very poor.

I'm just glad it came free with my computer and I didn't pay money for it.

"software", this is great The software was easy to install. I had no peoblems .

"Not as good as previous versions!", Microsoft Works 9.0
Would have liked it better if it came with Streets and Trips, as the previous Works Suites versions came with. Microsoft probaly did this for more money. Making you buy the Streets and Trips seperatly.


"It should tell you the Office portion is not available until you buy it.", When I got the Disk with Works 9.0 I installed it and it had a lot of Office stuff on it. When you open the Ofice links they ask you for a Product Key. I called and wrote to Microsoft for two weeks and finally a technician just said, "If you buy the Office products you will get a Product key. Your Works 9.0 will work just fine without any Product Key. Only if you want to activate Office will the Office products be available. If the first person I talked to would have told me that I could have saved a lot of fruitless time.
