"Not Call Of Duty, for sure"
Having been a game designer for a few years, and a gamer since I was 25. At 61, I have come to expect a certain amount of quality, and playability from the games I buy. MOH Airborne falls short of my expectations. Their "sighting system" for the weapons available to the player, leave one frustrated and displeased. Having spent time in combat in Vietnam, I KNOW how to aim and fire a weapon. In MOH Airbourne Assault, it's as if the player is spastic, you find yourself having difficulty aiming your weapon, and become frustrated. Even when you have the enemy squarely in your sights, the chances of your hitting him are beyond statistical probability.
I've NEVER had so much trouble hitting a real enemy as I had hitting NPC enemies in this game. They need to review their statistics for the hit/miss algorithm. Meanwhile, the Italian "Blackshirts" all shoot like Annie Oakley, or Daniel Boone. Fun factor? Two out of ten. Overall, two out of five for the nice graphics, but it STILL isn't Call Of Duty (any of them) or Half-Life2. Too bad too, I was hoping for more for my money.

"A definite Core 2 Duo game"
There are actually 2 games I like in the Metal of Honor series and this is one of them. I reviewed this game last Summer when I first got it. Love the game but it has a few short comings...The save game system is done by checkpoints which doesn't allow for save game exploit. Not a deal breaker for me but a pain if you get a phone call in the middle of a sub mission, I just hit escape which gives you a drop menu. The game is way to short for a single player fps, however, as an intro to the online game it is adequate.
My P-4 with an over clocked Nvidia 6800 xt and 2 gig of memory running dual channel with an 800mhz fsb can't pull the load adequately, My Core 2 duo with an Nvidia 7900 GS over clocked to 525mhz , 4 gig of memory running dual channel on a 1066mhz fsb can get near max settings but is still a little choppy during heavy combat. That being said.. I just love this game!! The action is hot and fast, it forces you to use cover and good tactical play even though your squad mates tend to bunch up a little and run in front of your gun muzzle now and again the play is still pretty good and being able to decide where I enter the battle field from above is a big plus... all in all it's "A definite Core 2 Duo game".

"Can you hit me now? Good! oh....wait."
MoHA was so close to being good. A shoddy hit detection/shooting model really bring this title down. Also npcs move in an unreal tournament type fashion(instantaneus acceleration). If these two issues were polished then man this would have been a great game!

"Easily Best Single Player FPS I have played since Doom/Darkforces"
Games I've played - RTCW, HL, Doom series, Darkforces, ET Quake Wars, Quake Series, and on and on.

This game is amazing not just for its gfx or story (although those are good). This game is the first in a long time to have actually great first person play! The actual game play and kills and AI are so satisfying that they remind me of that feeling of running around in doom with a shotgun decades ago! [btw, if you become very very good at this game, you can run around with the shotgun and be godlike with similar satisfaction].

The guns, sounds, and the way the computer plays you are very very good. You will notice that the enemy won't just pop into view if you wait for them like most games - they act very real, as well as having some great facial expressions.

Its amazing to me that this game got low reviews, but i chalk that up to games these days being rated on both multiplayer and singleplayer - i am an avid MP player in other games, but this game is a gem to me because of the SP portion and is worth the 50$ for that satisfaction alone (although now its cheaper)

Thanks to whoever developed this for giving me back that great FPS satisfaction that i've craved since doom I.

Just 2 Cons I have had.

1) game is short. However, the quality put into it and the research make it worth it (very replayable as well)

2) one issue dealing with binding zoom to the mousewheel to work, otherwise trouble free.

"Great game"
I found the online multiplayer to be very lacking.
The single player is where it's at for this one.
This game is very "open", meaning you can land almost anywhere on the map for each level. You have objectives, but most of them can be completed in any order. The friendly NPC's are quite "intelligent".So is the enemy.
Sniping is a load of fun.Running amuck shooting everything will get you killed fast, so work with your NPC team.

What our customer's say!

"Great Game!", Fantastic game with great graphics and intense action. Much better than other recent WWII games. A must have!

"LAME", Don't buy this game. You can't save except at checkpoints, so when you are killed, you have to play through almost the whole thing again just to get back to where you were. Even a head shot with an M1 Garand does not drop the enemy, COME ON!!!! The enemy soldiers have superhuman reflexes and can duck as soon as you pull the trigger. This game is boring and you feel like you are fighting with a pea shooter for all damage you can do to your enemy. First person shooters need to find another war to fight, (Korea would be cool) We have won World War Two too many times now.

"top fun & joy", Excelent piece of work of entertainment, highly recomended, not as large as i expect but great work anyway.

"Medal of Honor stepped up... but just a little...", Okay, so the saga of 'Medal of Honor' hasn't been that great, but I have to admit that 'Airborne' has hit hard compared to great first person shooters today.

One appealing aspect of the game is graphics, 'MOH' has pushed its gaming graphics to the highest standard in gaming, although the menu was a little cheap but the gaming overall surprised me.
The story-line is the same as usual; you are a soldier during the World War, and you are writing about your experience in the line of duty. The story-line does make sense, so I have no complaints on that.

Now onto the finer details:
If you have read a history book lately, you'll realize that the context created within the game is totally out of proportion, but then again, who doesn't like to create a nice "challenging" game?
What's worse is that 'MOH' expected the gamer to fight off of these different soldiers under leveled hierarchies as you move onto the next mission. Not only we are following a story line, but it seems to me that the story line is following these extremely unnecessary targets which is so out of proportion that this redundancy tends to get out of hand.

Another disappointment is that the game didn't have an introductory video to the game, it simply led the game straight to the menu, and even the menu became all tacky, but 'MOH' has always done that.

What truly made me infuriated is the checkpoints, and no "quicksave". Most games today are using quicksaves so that way it's more gamer friendly, unfortunately, 'Airborne' disallowed that with limited checkpoints available. I'm sorry EA but I hope you know that once a person dies in the game, and happening to know that he or she have to start all the way from the beginning kind of makes me want to throw the game in the trash. To be honest, it's not worth playing from the beginning again.

On to the positive pieces, I like the awards you get, like the weapon awards where you'll receive a faster reload, or less recoil, etc. which gives the game its uniqueness and the ability for the gamer to keep playing the missions until he/she completely finishes the game with the awards. But like I said, with no "quicksave" I wouldn't even want to go back and do it all over again.

Aside from all of this, I would say that the game is pretty much a nicer version of 'Wolfenstein' with the different crazy looking soldiers.
And of course, under the line of 'Call Of Duty', it still beats 'Airborne'. Even the first 'Call of Duty' game is more appealing than this and its graphics aren't that amazing.

So it's just to show you, that graphics aren't the only things that makes a game great.
For example, take a look at 'Splinter Cell's' 'Double Agent' game and compare to all the other 'Splinter Cell' games. You'll see what I mean.

"a great gaming experience", MoH A starts a bit slow, the interface is amateurish and EA's website wants you to pay for the soundtrack (in yer dreams), but you know the core game is fantastic. Programmers managed to create a punishing yet fair health system and the difficulty level is just right bringing you back to parachuting in different areas of the map as you try to accomplish your duty. Sure you need to download patches to fix the game but it's worth it- the final mission is a sheer delight (I have that tower in my nightmares) and the closure is satisfying. I had more fun with MoH A than COD4. Note: I don't care about multiplayer action so not sure how that rates here.

Read this reviews before You buy...

"Good Game on Drugs", The Good:

AI is excellent.
Great graphics, especially the Physics Engine for the grenade blasts...you have to see these...AWESOME>
I enjoyed jumping out of the planes and landing wherever i pleased.
Great combat and general "feel" of the game.

The Bad:

The game gets extremely difficult at certain times. almost impossible.
No save game. You have to wait for the "check point". this sucks when you have busted your a*s for an extended period and then get whacked at the last minute...start all over!

You drive or pilot NO vehicles.

The game DOES NOT realistically recreate WWII battles at all.

The Ugly:

The Super Nazis on the last 2 missions made me laugh. Where did they come from? So stupid. A disgrace to the original MOH.

Overall, a fun game and I recommend it.

"Sub-par and short", This game is fun, but it's gameplay systems are primitive at best. It also has an extremely short single-player campaign. Multi-player is fun for a little while, but it gets old.

"Great fun on Mac", I play this game on Windows Vista in Bootcamp on a MacBook Pro 2.4GHz, 4GB RAM, and it's great graphics, fluid motion, great sound, and just overall a lot of fun. I'd want to see what even less scripted action would mean and like some other reviewers have said, it's a bit short. But what I find is that when I play it again I try to look around as much as possible and I find lots of new areas to go to. It's a good step forward in the WWII genre and I look forward to the next title.

"If we fought like this we would have lost the WAR!", Simply said -- DON'T buy it! This game will not load on my three-month old premium PC. It will load on my desktop but runs unacceptably. It is so choppy, slow nor can you aim and shoot with any accuracy. Frequently you see right through the soldier or they are incomplete ghost-like images. Plus, Amazon will not take this game back after 30 days - and it takes longer than that to try to make this ugly thing work.

Call for Duty 4 is vastly superior at least in terms of getting things to work. I don't know how CFD and MOH compare in regards to actual missions and the thrill of the game, since I NEVER was able to PLAY the MOH game.

What is wrong with a company that creates a game either so stupid or with technology so new that the customer had to buy a computer last week to make it work. Aren't they eliminating a huge market? The masses are not going to go out and buy a new PC or expensive video card, etc. just to play a Medal of Honor game - especially when competitor products work fine.

"The WWII franchise is over and this is the nail in the coffin!", Hmm, where to begin. The graphics are incredibly awful, the so called drop where you want zones are geared in a way that you literally have only a small area to work with in landing.

So either you land on a building, close to the building or close to the smoke of the drop zone. Oh boy.

The ammo is scarce and the AI borders on mentally handicapped.

Your squad members are as useless as you are left wondering why they are even there other than to yell your name over and over and have you go in and clear all of the enemies out. Ridiculous, why have them? It is supposed to be a team, not one man and a glee club!

The enemy AI is either incredibly accurate and never miss, or they have no business holding weapons.

The recoil on the weapons is ridiculously flawed and the whole game feels like it was built on a good idea and pathetic production.

It is as if they got bored and decided to just throw it out to see if they could get some quick cash.

The only way to check your mission stats is to hit the escape key, it is just a stupid, stupid, stupid game.

The WWII franchise is played to death and overdone and EA is just showing just how pathetically bad they are at anything other than sports.

They screwed up Crysis, they screwed up Stalker, I mean is there anything EA can do right? Oh yeah, NBA or some other football type game...

The game sucks, EA sucks, just horrible and a waste of time.

Not too mention the game is 6 hours for 50 bucks? Is this the level of games now? Is this what these producers and developers are spending all this time making?

Gaming is starting to die in favor of going on-line for stupid multiplayer games that amount to a bunch of teenagers and 12 year olds using big boy words and cheating to have what they call fun.

This game sucks...
