" Philips DVDR3575H/37 1080p Hard drive/DVD recorder"
So far the unit has been working well. Setup was easy. The instructions were fairly straight forward. It says right in the instructions that the hard drive can break for a number of reasons. Not a comforting thought.
The unit is easy enough to use. It works with several different formats including DVD +R and RW. The DVD's have worked in My Gateway computer, and in my DVD player. Since the unit plays DVD's I am using the other player on another TV.

"Great Product"

Received it in a timely manner and so far has been working fine! The hard drive is the only way to go!!!

"I love this Recorder"
I chose this Recorder because overall it had good reviews. I am very happy with this purchase since it was easy to set up and is easy to use.

As an added bonus I find that even though the reviews indicated that it is not possible to watch one program and record another, I am able to do just that. I suppose it is because I do not have a cable box, the cable goes directly to my TV. I just program the show I want to record, then change my TV to the show I want to watch at the same time. It's great!!

The only downside would be having to wait until after a program is recorded to add the title but it's not really that big of a deal for me, I do it soon after so I don't get too many untitled programs.

"Great Machine For The Average User"
This is a very good and reasonably priced machine. I have owned and used two for nearly a year with very minimal problems (most probably caused by my myself). It is easy to setup and use use for the tasks the average person would expect it to perform. It records easily, edits easily (quite accurately for normal use), and dubs to DVD easily; all that most of us would want such a machine to do. I record from TV, satellite receiver, and video cameras. All work easily and well. Picture quality is excellent to me but, I am no videophile, just an average user. I will most certainly look to the successors to this machine when I need to buy more in the future. It is the only such device I've found that does what I need it to do at a price I can afford. One suggestion is to power the device from a battery backup unit because the clock and recording timers go away with more than a very brief loss of power and have to be reset and recreated. Of course, all recorded material is retained on the hard drive.

"Phillips DVDR3575H/37 1080p with Built-In-Tuner"
This Phillips DVDR is by far the best DVD product I have ever owned. Where I got 8 analog stations on an analog TV, I still get 8. But where I got 0 Digital Channel signals before I now get 37 on the same analog TV using the Phillips DVDR Digital Tuner. I have my Dish Satellite signals routed through the DVDR also on the E1 video channel and the recorder can see all channels and record any signal I wish. The digital video signal equals or surpasses the Satellite signal to the point you will just be amazed. I simply love this product. Have not tried HDMI conversion yet, but am excitedly looking forward to it.

What our customer's say!

"I Love it!!!!!", I love this it is great! I am using it with my old roof top antenna. I get a lot more channels all in digital and they are very clear! The recorder is nice but you can only watch/tape one channel at a time and it has a few second lag if you are taping things back to back on different channels. But it is a BIG upgrade for me and I love it! No more VHS tapes everywhere!

"Finally a solution for DTV with an antenna", I did a lot of research in preparation for the switchover to DTV. I have an antenna and no plans to move to cable or satellite and my antenna works just fine. I've been using VCRs, but to continue using them you have to have a decoder box for each one set to a single station. Expensive and annoying. All I wanted was a digital TV recorder so I could continue to record and watch programs at my convenience. Well this unit does just that. I had no problems setting it up. It was easy to program to record -- just like my VCRs. You can record while watching another program, and recording quality is very good even at lower resolution. This unit was exactly what I was looking for.

"Just what I expected", Since Best Buy and Wal-mart have decided not to sell this item because of copyright concerns, I was pleased to find it at Amazon at a very reasonable price. It is replacing a DVDR by Polaroid, which was a piece of junk. Much better than VCR's. I was able to record 26 hours of Olympics and then put on DVD for playing later on my laptop. All in all a great machine.

"Came with a defective issue", Came with problem with the hard disk. I returned. In the other hand the Amazon.com return service was very nice.

"We Love It!", I've had this unit for about a year and I absolutely love it. I would never go back to a regular dvd recorder. It records quickly, it has tons of room, it has dubbing features, and it's reliable. 5 stars!

Read this reviews before You buy...

"Great Recorder with Lots of options", I've had this DVD recorder for about a month and so far it is exactly what I hoped it would be. The menu is very easy to navigate. I did not have to read the manual before working the timer and recording features because it is very self-explanatory. This unit is not the most recent model, but because of the less expensive price it was the best choice for me. I bought this one to replace another model of Philips DVD recorder that was refurbished. I only had the other one for 6 months. I do not recommend a refurbished model. It was junk. This DVR works perfect and the large hard drive is great for using to record live TV and other neat things. I highly recommend.

"Simple and Versatile", I've owned the Philips for about a month now and I'm very satisfied with it and its capabilities. I've been using a MediaCenter PC for several years and I like some of the features of the Philips that surpass the MC, namely the ease at which I can make titles from recorded material, omitting commercials easily and combining titles onto one DVD.

One improvement for the Philips would be a built-in Program Guide; however, I use the MC to schedule programs, making it a double effort.

The Remote Control is functional, especially the 30-second skip and the 5-second replay. Its layout could be improved and keys made larger for bigger hands.

I like the many recording modes available; and even some of the extended modes (for longest number of hours) which are still acceptable for viewing and archiving.

Overall, the Philips is a good machine that could be improved, but that has most of what one would want for a good price.

"Good product", After having it for a weeks now, it worked well for me. There are a lot of features sometimes need to look at the manual. It also has sort like DVR function I found it useful. The only thing I don't like is the DTV and analog TV grouping. Unlike most TV sets where they are all mixed together, on this box, you have to hit the DTV buttom to get Digital channels.

"Nice Unit", I've done extensive research on DVR's with a HD, this one is outstanding. I was not really a Philips fan, but this unit I really like, many nice features, you won't go wrong.

"query", I own a previous dvd player manufactured by Phillips. Just like that one, this recorder seems to be high quality. However,it is not particularly intuitive to use. I stll have not been able to figure out the editing procedures.
