What our customer's say!
"A great concept", Before I begin, I'd like to note that I'm just giving my impression of the game, and it is not necessarily going to be the same as yours. That said, the game itself is a very well designed simulation of what can be considered real life. You have to meet the needs of each of your sims, which can be considered either your personal avatars or pets (depending on how you look at it) in the world of The Sims 2. I found the level of customization to be impressive, especially with the numerous mod sites online, and the ease with which you can mod the game. The game play is not too different from the first game, but they did fix a lot of annoying bugs and complaints I had about it. The reason that this game doesn't get 5 stars is that additional content costs $20 for each set you buy. The problem is that in the regular game, after a certain point in time you will have bought all of the best items and have completed your career track. After this happens, there isn't much left to do short of either trying to seduce every sim in the neighborhood or murder them depending on your inclination. The extra content packs, while adding content, add very little. Sure it's fun to be a vampire, but only for a couple of hours and then it just loses its charm. Other packs don't even feature anything as nifty as that, such as clothing packs, and should have just been free updates. I found the game only entertained me for a couple of weeks before it stopped being all that fun. However, this is just me. Other people may become obsessed with building a perfectly controlled community with its own story lines and role play using the sims, others will think the game is the dumbest thing they've ever played (like my roommate). I suggest getting the demo and seeing how much you like it.
"Greatest game ever made.", This is the best game I have EVER played. I love being able to control somebody else's life. Since it has been my lifelong goal to become an architect, I like being able to design your own home. The only con is that it takes awhile to get used to, but that isn't big enough to demote it a star. Buy this game, its worth the dough
"What's The Point?", I love The Sims, but I don't understand the point of releasing a "deluxe" pack with just the base game and one expansion pack. To me, it seems more logical to wait until all of the expansion packs have been released, then put out a Complete Collection, like they did with The Sims 1. Or, at least, throw in a couple more expansions than just Nightlife.
Maybe this "deluxe edition" is more convenient for some people, but I myself just do not get the point. Ah well, anything to make an extra buck on EA's part.
However, The Sims 2 is probably the greatest game I've ever played, and the Nightlife expansion is enjoyable enough. My advice is buy this Deluxe Edition only if you're new to TS2, and haven't yet bought the base game individually.
5 stars for the game itself, not this Deluxe Edition.
"One of the best games", This game describe the real live environment with fun stuff and a lot of free online add on object which you can download from ea (The sims) game website and also you can share your own stuff....etc, so enjoy the game.
"THIS IS A GREAT GAME!", I had the sims and it was pretty fun. But it got old quickly and soon there were no more things to do with it. There were several things that I didn't like: no marriage, no aging, bad zoomimg, bad camera navigation, and honestly no real reason to stay with your sims and help them through life. It was all too simple, and not like real life at all.
Then along comes the sims 2! Man, this is SO MUCH BETTER! And especially the deluxe edition, that comes with the nightlife expansion, so that you can go downtown and have a rockin' night out! Nightlife comes with tons of new clothes, and you can but cars to go downtown! Besides, with this expansion you can go on dates that have rating, from Horrible to Dream Date!
In the sims 2, sims have life aspirations (Pleasure, Family, Romance, Fortune, Knowledge, Popularity) and wants and fears. Wants and fears vary depending on the life aspiration. If you fulfill wants, sims will get more aspiration points and be happier. If their fears are realized, then they loose aspiration points and get sad. There's long-term and short-term relationships, and teenagers can go steady. There's a difference between crush and love. Adults and elders can marry. There's six ages that sims go through: baby, toddler, child, teenager, adult, and elder.
I can go on and on. But it's better for you to get this game and experience the rest for yourself!

"Great Game!", I love this game. I used to have the Sims 1 but this is really a step ahead. The graphics are much better, and you can make your Sims look really detailed. I also love how close you can get into the Sims world- it's like your actually there! Also, this version of the Sims comes with the Nightlife expansion. With the Nightlife expansion, you can go out to all the restaurants, parks, shops, and so much more! Even without that expansion, the Sims 2 is totally fun. Unlike in Sims 1, your Sims can have generations of their own, pass on DNA, and eventually die.If you are new to the Sims 2 like me, I would start with the Sims 2 Deluxe.
"Sims 2 Deluxe", Great fun! Loads of options to choose from whether it's creating a Sim or creating a dream home. Just be sure you have plenty of time to play because hours will slip by like minutes!
"Russell Starner (Sim Fanatic)", When I discovered this game a few months ago while looking for something else. When I downloaded the game, it didn't have all of the features as the boxed version. So, please don't buy any downloaded version of the Sims because you WILL get ripped off. You might say that EA/Maxis (by giving you a downloadable version) have given (Simmers and future Simmers)) a teaser. Because, when your system (for any reason) goes down and you have to reformat the drive, you have to re-download your game (which takes a very long time). So, BUY THE BOXED VERSION. When I started paying the game, I was taken back by its vivid details and overall game play. Any avid Sim player know just how addictive this type of game is. Unfortuately, the game is truly adictive and it is ture that it in itself is a soap opera/sit com. I like the idea of making Sims and building their homes and decorating the lots. You can learn something from a game like this and depending upon your outlook on life you can learn many good things as well as bad things too. I do like the ability to control the Sims but I wish they didn't come out with cheats for the game because by doing so, you take the fun out of playing the game honestly. I still rate the game very high.
"Much better than the original.", The expansive features on the Sims 2 Deluxe makes for a much better and continuously entertaining game. You are to customize most anything you want to, though it is quite time consuming. I highly recommend this game.
"Best Game Ever", THe sims 2 is a brilliant game by Ea games. It shows multiple experiences of real life (having babies, getting married, death, and love)as well as unrealistic(getting abducted by aliens, having the grim reaper come after you die etc.) I believe it is a great game for anyone but not really for kids under 10. It does have some adult themes such as "woohoo" and bars(which the make as juice)I would recomend it to anyone who dosen't like games with a real objective. I would also suggest that you should not start on Pleasant View because it tends to screw up you're gaming experience. I would suggest strange town. It is a great learning experience for anyone who is a beginner. Sims is a wonderful game (but after you play sims 2 you just CANT go back to the regular sims ( I tried trust me it hurts) I would buy sims because it is worth you're $30 dollars (stuff packs are usually $20) Happy simming!
