"Tough to set-up, didn't work for us", My son received this last year for Christmas. He was very excited to get started. I was able to install the software that came with the toy however we were not able to use any of the fun activities. We'd pull an activity up and the screen would multiply over and over and over. The website was no help as it was under construction. We tried calling customer support for this product and the phone would just ring numerous times without anybody to pick up the phone. We tried over a week. So we thought maybe the toy was defective, sent it back. We got a new one from Amazon very quickly and the same thing happened with our replacement. So I figured it must be something with our computer that we were missing. Of course I had no technical support from FP. I tried several different things including help from 3 other computer tech guys in the family. Nobody could figure this out. Before you buy, make sure FP can give you the tech support you may need to set up. Everything listed on the box for computer compatibility we had so I'm not sure why we could not get this to work.

"Great Product", My 4 year old daughter always wants to do things on the "puter". She got this for her birthday and it is perfect. She loves to draw and create things, so this is perfect. The stylus is a little frustrating for me because it does not work the same as a mouse, but she picked riht up on it. I am amazed with her hand eye coordination - and it keeps getting better. She quickly picked up on how to change from painting to coloring to stamping. I can't believe how well she was able to master it. She loves typing things to learn her letters. I love it.

"Great product!", My daughter (4) got this as a birthday gift last year. It was easy for her to understand how to work it. As she gets older she is learning more things and is able to discover new parts of the game. I found it very easy to install, the quality of the product is great and very durable; just remember to go to the support website and get your system updates!

"Over-priced piece of electronic junk", Basically the program you need to install is a problem. Due to the 'safe' environment it creates it can conflict with your computers firewall, virus protection software. If you have anti-spyware you will not be able to use this program.
So I managed to install it on my laptop and my daughter liked it for a while. Then it just stays at your computer desk taking up a lot of space. So it goes away and you have to unravel everything to set it up. To be honest [..], my daughter has more fun on that or use real pencils and crayons. This is [...] of plastic junk in our house, can't wait for a yard sale.

"Great concept, just need more stable software", First off, my 4-year old twins love this product. They will literally share the unit with each other for hours drawing and designing. They even figured out how to print there pictures and I ended up having to limit the number of prints! Once I showed my kids the controls, they can easily do this without a lot of parent involvement, and it's hard for them to get back to Windows.

The bad side, as some reviews have stated is the software. There ARE updates available to the software, but I still find at times weird quirks about the software that make it rather difficult for my kids to figure out how to start it up. You're forced to run a program constantly on your computer that waits for the unit to be plugged in, then starts up. You don't have the options to add a shortcut to the program and start it up when you want to.

We tried this unit when my kids were 3-years old, and they had problems understanding the concept of pushing the pen into the board. You see, the tip of the pen has a movable plastic piece that must be pushed in, in order to draw something. Younger kids might have problems understanding they need to push this into the board.

I still do like this unit, and it seems pretty durable. It is kind of bulky to store when you aren't using it, but obviously that is a given!

"Great Buy", My son loves the digital studio. There are no messy markers to deal with. He actually learned to write his name and other words. It has many features like spray painting, writing, coloring, and themes. The "pen" acts like a mouse and that is teaching him how to navigate on the computer. I like that he can print something he created. I will be buying 7 more of these for Christmas for my nieces and nephews.

"Poor Programming", Do not buy this product unless you are a computer wizard. The programming is so bad that whatever machine you install this on crashes a million times. The Microsoft .NET runtime it needs to work ok, is one specific build. If you have a newer one, it won't work well unless you uninstall it and let the program install its own version of .net and directx9.0c (june 2007). So if you have other programs that need .net, they all break. How about that? Thanks Fisher Price! I mean really, flash games on Noggin work 1,000 times better than this.

"Difficult to use for a 4-year old", I bought this for my daughter for her 4th birthday. First, it was a bit difficult to install it on the PC. It just kept going through the "installation process." We had to reboot the PC a few times before it finally installed.

Once installed, it was a little difficult to use, especially for a 4-year old, since one has to keep the ball-point tip of the "pen" to make sure that you can active the drawing (connect the dots, etc.) on the screen.

My daughter loves arts and crafts! However, she has not even asked us to play with this after the first use. Sigh ... hopefully, she can use it later.

"Great gift item worth the price and good value", This was also a Sa**ta gift but hands-down it's been the best one my granddaughter has ever received.

Once we got my christmas present up and running (a new computer with bigger drive etc...) we loaded this gizmo up and she was off and running.

The great thing is she can hook it up and run it without my help and it has been just a boost for her creativity.

She can use this thing for hours.

Well loved and will be well used for a long time

"Good idea, bad software", This toy is hard to connect to the computer. The latest version says it works fine with Windows Vista, however I never got my computer to recognize the device. I have a laptop with Windows XP and I was able to connect it, however sometimes the computer cannot recognize the device. I tried to go into the website that the instructions say provide updates to the software and it still under construction. When connected it is a lot of fun for my daughter, but it is really frustrating getting to that point for both her and me. I believe it is too expensive for such simple technology with no possibility of upgrade at least for now. If you have a lot of patience, then you can buy, if you get desperate with computers, please don't it will drive you nuts!
