"amd 6000+", great processor runs a little hot but I bought an aftermarket fan instead of the one that came with it used to run at 70 no I have it around 40! but then again I have 9 fans in my case. great product though

"89W instead of 125W", When I ordered this I thought I would be sent the 125W 90nm, but instead received the 89W 90nm 6000+, which is better because I found out later my motherboard can only handle up to 95W so I lucked out there. With the stock cooler I found it runs very cool at around 30-40C depending on what I am doing and which core (Core #2 runs about 10C hotter idle).

I am not sure why this product is mislabeled as the 125W, maybe amazon needs to change it or maybe it was just luck. But I am very happy with this CPU overall, a huge difference from my old X2 3800+.

"Good Processor", For the price, it's a really great processor and I haven't had any problems with temperature, so I guess my stock fans are good enough. I can now multitask with no problem at all. I can listen to my music and download a movie and play a game all at the same time without having to worry about lagging or freezing up. Awesome price on this item as well, I'd recommend it to anyone looking to upgrade.

"Great speed, LOW cost,...but it does run hot with a stock cooler..", Im a professional Hardware technician i build many systems for many people on a monthly basis.
Most of my work deals with modding on a performance/enthusiast Aesthetic/enthusiast level.

This CPU im giving a high mark at stars because it is quite fast. With this CPU and a Geforce260 i am able at this time to run ANY PC game perfeclty smooth.

for the price its not bad..

HOWEVER..

the 125w 90nm technology runs hot...the stock CPU cooler with ambient room temperature of 72 degrees gave about 58c at full load.
that is unacceptable to me. To i had to buy a nice aftermarket cooler. This solved the problem and i was happy.

I have read about this processor running hot for people but there are simple solutions out there. Get a good cooler and artic silver 5
NO you shouldn't have to lap the heat sink..if the cooler is good high end it should come delivered with a mirror like finish. Mine did (Enzotech Extreme 120) (lapping is fine..but if you have a quality product you should have to do it, just order a good one)

Also your tower casehas a BIG effect on your ability to cool your chipset down as well. Your temps will vary depending on your tower and its ventilation capabilities.

Im cooling my system now with an Air conditioner..so heating issues with processor are no issue whatsoever.

Read this reviews before You buy...

"AMD CPU", This is a great processor. The price is even greater! There are many faster processors on the market, but the price makes this one plenty fast. The only issue I had was with my ASUS motherboard BIOS, which had to be upgraded before things would work. During boot, if your BIOS needs to be upgraded a message will be displayed. Follow the onscreen instructions.

"Great CPU", This is a great CPU for the price. I was originally going to buy an Intel dual core, but I had no idea they were $200-$300. So I looked at some of the AMD cpu's, and saw this 3.0GHz for $113. So far no problems, runs great.

"great upgade for the x2 mother board ", this is a great upgrade for those with a x2 mother board and want more speed, better gaming, and better over all system performance with out changing the mother board... the cpu is easy to install... the cpu does come with a new heat sink, although i recommend buying a better one, as this one blows the air down onto the mother board and around the cpu... i think that is counter productive. after i intalled a new cpu cooler i have noticed no heat issues at all.. the cooler i am using is SilenX iXtrema Pro 92mm Triple Heatpipe LED Alum CPU Heatsink (Socket 754/775/939/940/AM2 as well i recommend artis silver thermo grease.

"Very fast and cheap. Power hungry.", As the title reads, it's very fast and cheap, but power hungry. No heat issues. Remember to have a good power supply unit (at least 500W), specially if you have to feed many internal devices.

"Best in Price/Performance Processor", Bought this item a few months ago and has been working flawlessly since. Runs Apps and Games no slow downs whatsoever, best dual core processor from AMD.Able to run COD4 and a virus scan at once,no complaints.
