"Looking for Ghost Riders in the Sky?"
I was going to buy a copy of this until I saw the track listing and read all the reviews! Anyone looking for THAT version of *Ghost Riders In the Sky*, check out a band from the UK called King Kurt, off their album Destination Zululand. I don't know if it is THE version or not, but they are another band who have covered it. I haven't been able to listen to it on the internet, and I'm not willing to buy a copy in case it turns out to be crap. Also check out another alternative version by Me First and the Gimme Gimmes from their album Love Their Country. It is definitly not the one from the movie, but is is a good "punked up" version all the same. Happy hunting! Spiderbait (from Australia) have not done a version of it as far as I can find, but they do a blistering version of *Black Betty* if anyone is interested.

"disappointed"
Like all the other reviews, I was very disappointed after purchasing the soundtrack and discovering Ghost Riders in the Sky was not on it. I agree if it is called a soundtrack of a movie, all music should be on it.

"None of the Famous Rock Tunes, but Above Average ALL INSTRUMENTAL ONLY! "
This GHOST RIDER SOUNDTRACK by Christopher Young seems to suffer in reviews due to the lack of any of the famous oldies heard in the film, (no "Crazy Train," no "Superstar," no "Tush," and not even the song that inspired the original creation of this comic book character, "Riders in the Sky").

Yes, it's too bad that they couldn't get the famous songs on this CD, but if you are into movie soundtrack instrumentals only, then this is the freshest movie soundtrack of any of the Marvel Comics Movies of this century!

I really enjoy the GHOST RIDER movie, (which is best in the EXTENDED CUT on DVD version), so this CD is pretty decent as background music in my car. It could use some more noticeable melodies, but the opening theme melody recurs in different variations, the spanish guitars remind me of spaghetti westerns, and the electric guitars make it more unique among many recent soundtracks, though GHOST RIDER also has its fair share of the church choir flourishes. Ghost Rider (Two-Disc Extended Cut)

The music varies from loud & heavy stomping, to gently guitar strumming, and is mostly variations in between those two extremes. Overall this GHOST RIDER SOUNDTRACK has enough variation throughout that it doesn't get on my nerves, though it isn't really so good that the music is engaging and memorable. In fact, I listen to this CD to remind me of the film, but if you don't like this film, then I probably wouldn't recommend this CD for you.

GHOST RIDER is better and fresher than the other Marvel Comics movie soundtracks. The SPIDER-MAN soundtracks all start to sound the same. The worst Marvel movie soundtrack is for the X-MEN 1 movie, where their idea of drama seems to be a constant drone that either gets louder for tension or quieter for calm. Sheesh. GHOST RIDER reminds me of the film as I listen to it, and it sounds good in the background, not just some unimaginative twisting of the volume knob, ala' X-MEN 1. "Ghost Riders in the Sky by Spiderbait"
I hate when a movie gives you a great soundtrack then doesn't use that soundtrack when they issue the cd for sale. So when Ghost Rider had fabulous music in it, the first thing I thought was -- Gotta find this soundtrack! Then I did and was totally disappointed. However, it does look like Ghost Rider in the Sky, as performed during the credits, is by Spiderbait. You can often find the download of the song available online if you put it into a search engine.

"Ghost Riders Song"
If you're looking for the song "Ghost Riders In The Sky" used at the end of the movie it's not by Bon Jovi on their Lost Highway CD and I don't think its Spiderbait either because I can't find any proof of it. I did some research and the closest I could find was a track by The Outlaws on their album The Outlaws: Best Of The Outlaws. I really don't understand why they didn't include the song on the official soundtrack, how stupid are they?

"END SONGS", THE CLOSEST SONG I HAVE COME UP WITH TO THE END WHERE THEY RIDE IS, THROTTLENECK (INSTRUMENTAL) BY BRAD PAISLEY ON HIS 5TH GEAR CD.

"Super hero score with a twist", The first of Christopher Young's two major 2007 releases, Ghost Rider is a super hero movie with a twist. Directed by Mark Steven Johnson and starring Nicolas Cage, Peter Fonda, Eva Mendes, Sam Elliott and Wes Bentley, the film follows the life of daredevil stunt motorcyclist Johnny Blaze (Cage). When his father falls terminally ill with cancer, Blaze strikes a deal with the devil: his soul to save his father's life. The deal, however, backfires on Johnny, turning him into a skeleton-headed motorbike-riding demon with a blazing inferno raging from his skull and hands! If this sounds all a bit hokey, you could well be right, but the fight between Cage's urban cowboy superhero and Bentley's evil son-of-the-devil strikes the right balance between over the top action and downright silliness. As befits the character, Young treats his protagonist almost as a modern day cowboy outlaw, cruising around the West on his trusty hog. The score is low, bass-heavy, action-packed, and makes liberal use of a throng of electric guitars which grunt down in the mix and underpin the entire work. The opening track, "Ghost Rider" is quite magnificent, a full-on gothic orchestral powerhouse with dark, trilling brasses and a powerful choir which hearkens back to the days of Hellraiser. Unfortunately, the rest of the score doesn't maintain the same level of intensity, only even coming close during the driving "More Sinister Than Popcorn", the operatic "Blood Signature", and the conclusive, Latin chant heavy "The West Was Built on Legends". The romantic theme, first heard in "A Thing for Karen Carpenter" is sweet and lush, with a prominent acoustic guitar element, "San Veganza" sounds like a refugee from a Morricone western with its lonely solo trumpet refrain, and some of the action cues, notably "Cemetery Dance" and "Nebuchadnezzar Phase" are impressive in their volume and intensity, although some of them do come across more like Metallica rock instrumentals than a traditional film score.

"why this sucks", this soundtrack is an absolute waste of money. the problem being that the only good song on the entire movie is not included, which of course is ghost riders in the sky by spiderbait. yes it was done performed by spiderbait and not released on any albums.

"Where is Spiderbait??!!", Seriously! Where is the Ghost Riders in the Sky song? Spiderbait did the version heard in the movie and it was way cool! Oh well. The Outlaws do a version that is closest to the one done by Spiderbait. Without that song I can't give it more then one star. Sorry.

"Were are the real songs", This CD doenst have any of the actual songs from the movie...I was hoping for the rock songs not the musical score...the Ghost Riders song is done by spiderbait but its not available anywere

"I feel suckered.", The score is excellent, if fact, it's very original and interesting to listen to.... but I didn't get all the music that was in the movie. The "Ghost Riders in the Sky" track isn't there. As they say in Germany... "I bought a cat in a sack". Should have inspected the product before buying the CD.
Marketing people need to learn that they will actually make more money if they actually give what they label says. As a result of the intentional misleading, people are going to become suspicious and will be forced to look at every track before buying a CD. If a specific track isn't there, they won't buy it. If "Ghost Riders in the Sky" had been there, they would have sold more of this album.... because I'm sure people are becoming "leary".

"Whos sings that song?", The movie was great....but those anybody know, the song that is played when they go the the ghost riders house the first time. He turns on the lights.. and his firned it telling him how he needs to get a lock for the door... and that song in the back round?..........when he just want to relax ?

"Riders In the Sky", The song "Ghostriders in the Sky" from the movie is actually done by a band called Spiderbite. You can find it on the internet!

"??? Soundtrack???", Although I was entertained by the movie, I certainly did not enjoy this soundtrack....Where are ALL the great songs played for the movie????

"Give the Rider his due", This is a great CD for those people who like a touch of darkness and creepyness
