This prduct is great for flight sims, set up is easy, but you may find it will take time to set up profiles for different games, when i first recieved this product it was faulty, so contacted saitek , the ppl at there US based offices are great they had me rma the first one and send it of to them, within a week I had my replacement which works great...well worth the buy

"Only One Minor Problem", Saitek X52 Pro Flight System Controller
Only one minor problem. I am a lower-intermediate flight sim user. I use FS 2004, CFS 2 and CFS 3. I had some difficulty with trying to determine the difference between 'Mode' and 'Profile'. I found the on-line video from Saitek on how to program to be very helpful.

Previous reviews indicated that I may encounter problems with possible cross controling the ailerons and elevator or rudder when transiting the stick through the null point. This does not happen with my unit. Another concern was that the throttle transition from 90% throttle to full trottle would require excessive force. I have found that there is a little extra force that is required to go into full power. This is just about right. I have not changed the out-of-the-box friction settings.

My third concern was that some owners have experienced problems with keeping the stick and throttle in place when operating the units. I have not had any trouble with the stick or the throttle slipping or sliding. They are placed on a formica desk top. I do not need to install the suction cups that were provided. However, I can see that some gamers would have problems if they tend to slam their controls from stop to stop.

The adjustable stick handle is a blessing (5 possible positions). The stick returns to the center (neutral) position everytime. The hand grip on the throtle is supurb. Both units have a solid feel.

My next purchase will probably be FSX (along with a new computer with some muscle to crunch pixels). The X52 Pro will be ready when I make these upgrades.

"Very cool!!", I'm quite pleased with this throttle/joystick combo. They work well with my CH Pro rudder pedals although I learned that I can't keep my CH Pro yoke plugged in while using the joystick because any off center position of the yoke starts influencing the inputs. (Took me a little while to figure out why the airplanes kept rolling to the left) This pilot error incident aside, I've had no problems with either the throttle or the joystick. The only downside I can think of (and I'm not even sure this is a downside) is that I don't like the fact that the throttle and Joystick are connected to each other via a serial cable. It cuts down on the number of USB ports you need to take up on your computer but can prevent you from having a clean, cable free desktop. I knew it was configured this way before purchasing so I wouldn't down grade from 5 stars because of it. Functionally, ergonomically and aesthetically they are very pleasing to use!

"After serious use....", I am a military buff and I bought this item to get as close as possible to a real life pilots view from inside a cockpit. It appears to be amazing, but I have not been able to do anything with the "custom" programmable settings. This product sounded like the best thing out on the market today, but I would have bought a piece of wood and hooked up some electronics to it to perform the way this thing has performed for me. It definitely serves the purpose for a joystick during flight, but the extras simply stink and there is no such thing as programmable buttons and switches, this does not occur.

The other downfall is a person cannot use this joystick for any other games they would like to use a joystick for. It simply will not work. I have tried it on 6 different computers all with different setups and it just will not allow play on some combat action games for a PC which allows a joystick as an available option. If you are looking for a standard joystick, I would suggest a much lower priced joystick from the same manufacturer, but do not waste your money on a good description when the results just do not follow.

"X52 Pro", Saitek X52 Pro Flight System Controller I have had a lot of sticks. Logitech, Sidewinders,CH Products, Saitek evo series, ect... This stick is very well made. Software can be confusing. Takes getting used to but the ability to calibrate while in game a big plus. The rotary controls smooth. The 4 way and 8 way hat switches in good locations. Stick sorta bound up at first until I applied a little lithium grease to the shaft. No problem.Had this stick for about 3 months. No regrets.

"Very Good Flight Control System", Great piece of hardware. The reason for ONLY 4 stars is that the manual and software are not up to date, and updated ones must be located and downloaded.
The hardware is really good,,and worth the trouble.

"Awesome controls!", What else can be said of this setup? I use it for Falcon and for both versions of Microsoft Flight Simulator. The ability to program functions into various switches makes the realistic ability of this controller far better than others that I have used, and much more real world. Face it. Software is taking over many manual tasks, even when rolling in hot on a bombing run. The ability to switch modes on the fly (pun intended) is awesome and makes the game far more fun.

I haven't had it long enough to get as much out of it as it is capable of doing.I have found that it is very smooth and makes the gaming experience much more enjoyable.I also have a two year old saitek evo force,and I miss the feedback in the new one. That's about the only thing I would add to the x52.Over all a very good investment.
