"Very risky software", Using this product is like playing Russian Roulette. After using it my Incredimail application was worthless. Can destroy many important system settings.

"Worst Software I've ever tried", I thought I was smart getting rid of my Norton bulkware, but this software suite is definitely not "sweet." It would constantly scan my disk, and whenever it found a corrupt file a dialog box would pop up. Overnight, 20 to 40 of these boxes would pop up. This would usually crash the computer, prompting for a chkdsk on startup.

After removing the software, the registry still calls for smrgdf to be run whenever chkdsk is ran. Since the program is no longer there, the chkdsk will skip. There is a fix for this, but can't I even get rid of this program? The program fooled me, since it has such a nice-looking GUI, but it's pure trash (from any of my experiences with it).

"avoid", after installing this program, my computer will no longer load windows. This program was supposed to help my computer, but only made problems worse!

"Mech 7", worked OK. Then stopped and asked for more money. I did not buy it to get shanghi'ed for more cash. The damn thing should keep working. I did not pay for a time period program. Would not buy again.

"Great disappointment!!!", I was a user of System Mechanic 6 with no issues. When System 6 helped me through some very serious computer problems I happily upgraded to Pro7. Nothing but nightmares: system lockups, error message one after another on startup and during operation. If Pro 7 was to keep my computer healthy, why didn't it fix these problems? After 3 unanswered requests for help from their "free technical service" I gave up. It took several days to uninstall Pro7 and I am back to using v6. I am using XP with SP2, so maybe other systems fare better.

"I would rate it minus 5 or less if I could", I have used System Mechanic since version 3. I always swore by this software. Then I got a new laptop with Vista installed. System Mechanic 6 was not compatible so I was forced to upgrade to version 7. What a nightmare this software is. My first gripe was having to buy an annual subscription for this latest version. Thinking it would be as good (if not better) than the previous versions I made the big mistake of buying 2 years up front. Once I downloaded and installed System Mechanic 7 it crashed my system and I had to do a complete restore. I have 2 gigs of RAM and this program is a memory hog. It runs in the background and I no longer have control on when it decides to run. If I am in the middle of printing off click and ship labels (I have a online store) it will hang my system until it is through running through its cleanup and check modes. Iolo support doesn't seem too concerned with it's consumer complaints as it has done little to correct the problems that System Mechanic 7 creates.

Going from an XP system to a Vista system was nightmare enough, but adding System Mechanic 7 to my laptop only added to my computer woes. I think that System Mechanic is junk! It slows your computer start up, hangs you in the middle of important tasks, removes files needed for programs to run (forcing you to reinstall.) You no longer have control on scheduling when it runs. You now have to pay for yearly subscriptions. So what's good about it? Let me think on it and I will get back to you on that.



"Warning!!! This is Spyware", Do not install this software or You will regret the day you did.
System Mechanic 7 Pro by Iolo is spyware.
If not already, Iolo needs to be investigated by the justice dept. or f.b.i. for what they have done.
Just read the other reviews about this garbage and be warned.
If you happen to read anything positive about system mechanic 7 pro. That review has to have been written by a clueless individual.
Your warned. Don't buy it and don't install it..

"Please stay away", I have purchased every version of system mechanic since 4.0 and thought this was great software. Until version 7. Don't use the automatic tools no matter what. All kinds of files get identified as viruses and deleted. The registry gets damaged. MS office applications hang when opened from file associations. The program installs and runs fine for one day. The next day the system is hosed. Stay away. Just don't do it. You will regret it.

"BUYER BEWARE!!! DON'T BUY IT...", Have had multiple problems with this iolo product. Purchased it after seeing the recommendations on their package. What a mistake. Had problems having it work successfully with Vista. Removed it. With XP it deleted some parts of other programs to the detriment of the system. Now my XP system is a piece of junk. Could not remove it as their reps suggested. Interestingly, their representatives stated that their product would not work with Win 98, even though it was addressed on the package that it would work! Spoke to their techies on several occasions to no avail. Then I received a notice from them that my subscription was to elapse six months from my purchase. I called them and they said that that was a mistake. The techies are a middleman to iolo. They are not directly employed by iolo. For your piece of mind, do not frustrate yourself by purchasing it.
