"It didn't work", I was so hoping this device would work.

it actually did initially but within 3 hours of using it over the course of 2 or 3 different times over a period of several weeks, it broke and i returned it. By broke i mean that it would turn on but then absolutely would do nothing, not even shut off.

"Love It!", I use it both for taking notes and marking up PDFs. Works great. Easy to use. Have to turn Word docs into PDFs before marking them up. Also, I think you do need to have the full version of Adobe Acrobat to mark up PDFs rather than just the reader. Four stars instead of 5 because I would like a little higher quality pen.

"buy an extra pen", I use this digital pad daily in my Chemistry and AP Chemistry classes. Buy an extra pen! Once you start using this pad you won't be able to function without it.

"Don't get it!", I got this products with high hopes but it ended up being more aggravating than it was worth. I got it in hopes of cutting out some of the notes I hate to write and then retype for my job. It's a nice theory but I had to go back and correct so much that it became a real chore. I was very careful to write as neatly as I could but it still put in capital letters where there were supposed to be lower-case, even after making a mental note to myself to try to make the letters differentiate better after I used it for the first time. It seems you have to write PERFECTLY for it to be worthwhile. Also, I didn't realize I would have to buy a program seperately to make my writing convert into type-written documents. It gives you 30 days for free, thankfully, so you can see if it works well or not... Many of my words came out just fine and that was nice about the product but the number of things I had to go back and correct made me send it back. To me, it's just not worth the price, at least until maybe the technology improves on it.

"A Bit Disappointing", The pen is cheap but functional and the cap clip that attaches it to the tablet is weak and not really designed for the purpose. Storing the pen on the tablet spring clip is a bad idea as the pen comes out of the cap clip easily. The text/graphic conversion program that comes with it is mediocre and leaves many corrections that have to be made. Formatting is erratic with bullets sometime read as a text character. I tried reproducing the text/graphic that is on the tablet cover (and in the advertising picture) with only fair results. The graphics have to be carefully drawn or the conversion does not keep the circle, segment lines and hatch marks correlated accurately. The lines in the conversion extended beyond the circle border and were of random length. Each graphic element is rendered separately rather than the graphic being recognized as a single grouped element. The text/graphic conversion program that is included is just a 30 trail that you then have to purchase to continue using.

"Effective Product", I attend a lot of meetings in which I have to take notes (many of which are in the form of diagrams). Sometimes I'm at the "big" table, sometimes I'm in the seats along the wall. When I'm at the table, this device is a lot less distracting and less intimidating than my laptop. When I'm in the cheap seats, I can still take notes without trying to balance a laptop on my knees.

The character recognition S/W works pretty well and saves a lot of transcription time. Still, even without the OCR, for the reasons above, it's an effective device.

On the lighter side, it captures my doodles and cartoons I make while taking notes.

I must say I'm pretty happy with the purchase and recommend it to anyone who attends meetings or has to take notes in the course of their day.

"wow, so impressed", This thing is awesome. I had low expectations from a company name I didn't recognize, but the quality is outstanding. The digitization of my ordinary handwriting is spot on. The only thing is that the software that comes with it has an installer for handwriting recognition which causes a blue screen on my Vista machine when I try to install it. It appears that the handwriting recognition software that comes with it cannot be installed, I don't know if that is intentional or not.

"What a difference in doing my business!", This product has turned a 3 hour ordeal into a 1/2 hour breeze. I run a business where I'm away from home every weekend selling my products at fairs, shows, etc. I have had a hard time keeping all receipts, notes and orders separate and in order so that I can easily transfer all the information to my business computer at home. Now all I do is download the separate information right into the file it belongs to, or I download the drawing I made for the customer's approval on an order and I am all set to either do business and financial work from what it helped record on receipt books where the transaction actually took place or start work on the customer's order with all the info right in front of me. I LOVE IT!

"Digital Notepad", I love this product. I am a teacher so this notepad allows me to create assignments and tests for my students during my son's after school activities. Then when I get home, I just transfer my notes to a word document and print. I would recommend this to all.

"L2 Digital Notepad", I opened the box, read the directions and was using the notepad right away. I'm still amazed at the precision and clarity of the notes from the pad to the computer. I was skeptical if I could actually use a full pad of paper and still get the image digitized - well it works great with a full pad of paper. I do find that I would like to use my own pen but it's a small sacrifice to get the notes into my computer. It saves a lot of time that I used to spend scanning my notes. The on-line writing feature that lets you use the pad as an input device directly to the PC that can then be used to connnect to a projection device works very well.
You can also use it as a tablet pad and seems to work very well (I don't have much need for this feature).
Be aware that it may not fit in a portfolio you may already have because it is larger than a normal 8.5 by 11 pad of paper. Also, if you lose the pen you'll need to order another one ($25 TO $30).
I would recommend this for those of you who scan your notes or could use it for classroom instruction.
