"Impressive for a 15 watt amp", This is an excellent practice amp and am quite pleased with it. I enjoy playing with the FX and the "INSANE Rock Star Sounds"...that's what it says on the box so it must be true. My only beef is that the Chorus and Flange FX are combined rather than separate but, I do have separate Chorus and Flange FX pedals and use those. The volume control is good so you can plug in your headphones and not blow your eardrums out (I had a problem with a 15 watt Crate amp in this area and had to return it). Overall, this is an excellent, high quality amp for a reasonable price that I would recommend to any of my friends...If they played guitar.

"Very high quality amp at an excellent price...", When my daughters electric amp refused to work on her computer ( it can be used via a USB connection with a computer or plugged into an amp ) I went looking for an amp that would give her good response without costing a fortune. Found the Spider3 reviewed here and it looked like a solution to my problem. When it arrived I was really impressed by it's size and features. We plugged it in, turned it on, hooked-up her guitar and she spent the next three hours strumming like a pro- well, at least in her mind.

If you're a pro it might pay to look at the other Spider amps with higher wattage. But if you have a blossoming Eric Clapton in the house this is the way to go. Highly recommended.

"What an amp!", If you have a need for an in home practice amp this is a great deal. The amp has plenty of power and a lot of various sounds that you can adjust. Highly recommend this amp.

"So many features!", The Line 6 Spider III 15 Amplifier is the best so far! The tone settings are impossible, with 4 LED buttons controlling most of the sound.
1)Clean: A good jazz or blues sound, or maybe even a weird heavy metal noise.

2)Crunch: Sounds like guitars in songs like Welcome to the Jungle and Smells like Teen Spirit.

3)Metal: Probably the coolest sounding setting on it. It sounds like Metallica and Slipknot.

4)Insane: Great for songs like Crazy Train. Great noise, but it is very static.

This is a great amp for any level of guitarist. It sounds very good. Slipknot sponsors this amp and actually helped make it (they also use it in live concert). Cheap and great sounding. P.S.-If you listen to the audio clips on the Line 6 site, it doesn't sound at all like in real life. Go to your local guitar store to hear it.


"Great price but had a problem", My nephew had this amp and I tried it myself. I liked the effects that come with it but every 5 or 10 minutes I'd get a "pop" from the amp. It was random. Sometimes it was loud, sometimes not. I figured he had a slightly defective one so when I went to buy a practice amp for myself, I couldn't resist the low price of this one. I had the same exact "popping" problem for a couple weeks before I broke down and returned it. I bought the Peavey 258 EFX instead and hopefully that will work fine. My old amp was a Peavey as well so I trust the brand. My nephew an I both could have had bad luck to get a defective one but I doubt it. If you can live with a loud pop every 5 or 10 minutes, this inexpensive practice amp is for you. Otherwise, spend a little more money and get a different one.
