"It's hard to make a mistake"
I was very nervous about using Turbo Tax. I had been paying a professional to do my taxes until I realized he was just using Turbo Tax. I should not have been worried. The step by step guidance through the tax form was so easy to follow. Everything was explained so clearly that I felt sure I was doing it right. Let's hope the IRS agrees !

"Don't pay some silly CPA good money for doing your simple tax return"
I used to have an accountant that charged me $150 to do my taxes each yeat. Fine, I owned my own business and had tons of 1099s. But now I am a state employee with one W2. TurboTax cost half the accountant's fee and was quick, accurate and easy to use.

"Great Product"
We did our taxes in no time with confidence and received back the refund that Turbo Tax calculated for us. This is our second year with Turbo Tax and we plan to continue using this software. It is easy to use and less expensive and less time consuming than going to H&R Block or a similar service.

"Unuseable! Still waiting for updates (over a month)"
I have used TT for about ten years. Bot this one the end of January. After doing two kids' online (free) Started our joint return. Can't file due to no forms. Can't download update. Called for free CD middle of February. Today is March 22. Nothing. No followup. Called today and got automated system. Told to expect delivery "in about two weeks."!!! I will be lucky if I don't need to file for an extension! Too important to risk using again. Will not buy the CD ever again. May try online, but probably time to try different software. Too bad. It was great for a while. Fire the marketing department. $35 including a filing rebate will be fine. Two products: Home and Business will be fine. Restore the music. 2006 TT : F

"Pay an extra $1.00 and get the version with State!"
This was an excellent program, and we are getting back quite a bit more than I thought possible, and it was very user friendly and easy to use. But when I bought this I thought it would be a piece of cake to file a separate state return on my own - what a mistake! Especially since the deluxe version that includes the state is now only $1.00 more - get the state!

"Very happy with this product.", I did my taxes in less than 2 hours and I had stocks to enter. This does a nice question and answer thing and gets easier to use each year that I use it. Great product.

"Makes quick work of an unpleasant task", After my one and only trip to a well know tax preparation service that left me quite unimpressed, I decided the next year to use Turbo Tax and have been using Turbo Tax ever since. So far it has helped me understanding and handling inheritance, mortgage and even a side business. I've been a little disappointed of late to see the company move away from their original willingness to stand behind their product if users were audited, to an additional service fee. About my favorite feature is the option to create a PDF file for your tax return.

"Nice but extra for state taxes?", I am a fan of TurboTax it's great, easy to use in my opinion. However no one told me I would have to pay extra for the state tax program...

Still worth the price in my opinion.

"Best Turbo Tax ever!", I have used Turbo Tax Delux for years and they do a fantastic job of keeping up-to-date on tax law changes.

"Misleading", I was terribly dissapointed. I purchased a copy because I wanted to file online... of course I was able to file online, but only after paying a SECOND time to use the product I paid for.

Simply put, if you are paying to use this product all you are getting is an electronic tax form. If you want to file online, you will have to pay additional charges. If you want any real help you will have to pay additional charges. Their online help for tax questions isn't particularly helpful, in depth, or well organized. If you want "audit protection" you will have to pay additional charges.

Add up all these charges and you have what you would pay to a basic tax preparer/professional. In my opinion, your money would be better spent with a tax professional than in spending your money on this product and being subjected to the barrage of solicitations for more money for services you thought you had already purchased!

Read this reviews before You buy...

"Great program; Slimmy Marketing", I have used Quicken and TurboTax for over a decade, but will not next year. The products are very good, but the marketing (no sales programs) are so deceitful that I will move my accounting to Microsoft. I cannot believe that I find Microsoft less predatory than Intuit. Why would a company make a very good product and then develop a sales program that tick-off its customers? I would think that it would be a lot more profitable for them to keep existing customers than to make them feel like a sucker by adding additional costs to their services and promoting coupons and other discounts that they do not honor.

"BE CAREFUL IF YOU INTEND TO FILE STATE INCOME TAX", I purchased this product as I have many times in the past believing it would come with the State Return for one state, as I have always purchased it in the past. Be very sure you want THIS edition, as it's $5 less and does NOT come with a free state (which will cost you another $30) so make sure you pay the extra $5 up front and not be misled into buying the non-state containing product!

"Great program", It took me step by step through all possible deductions. Greatly recomment it.

"Great service, great price", I will order this from Amazon every year. Their efficient service and reasonable costs are incomparable. Thanks for having the honest philosophy to provide equal benefit to business and the consumer.

"Dissatisfied!", I purchased this product in good faith, believing all the advertizing I read, and have been very dissatisfied. I used the product as instructed and ended up with a huge payment to the IRS. I then went to a well-known tas firm and, although I still have to pay the IRS, I was able to reduce the payment SUBSTANTIALLY. I have since been told by a taxpreparer that she has used TurboTax for years and has found two "serious" glitches in this year's product and will never use it again.
