"Great Product"
Great product. Integrates with the Adobe Suite very well. Very easy to use. Would recommend this product to anyone.

"Review"
I bought this tablet to use with Photoshop but found the pen too sensitive for my heavy hand. You don't need to actually touch the pad with the pen, you can just hover over a file and then tap it to open. This seems ideal for some but for me I found stresful for holding the pen since I seem to be constantly opening files by mistake. Then I began to use the mouse with the pad but the pad is so small I had trouble coordinating my movements to my 22" screen. So this was the first product I ever returned to Amazon for a refund which they quickly processed in full. Thank you Amazon.

"Tablet for designers"
The 4x6 wide format tablet is great when working with a wide-screen monitor, and has performed very well in making clipping paths and drawing in illustrator so much easier. Using it within the filesystem takes some getting used to, and there is a little bit of jitter in using the pen, but once you get a hang of it, you'll find it may actually increase your efficiency.

My only gripe is that I wish I would have gotten a wireless version, as it is the only input on my desk that is still tethered with a cord.

"Don't shy away from the small tablet"
I got this tablet b/c I was experiencing RSI. I'm an interactive designer, I was used to the larger tablets and I thought this one might be too small. NOT TRUE. This little guy is just as accurate on a large display as the bigger models. What's even better is that you don't "move the pain to your shoulder" which is common for the larger tablets.

"Great for Students"
The 4x6 Intuos3 is a great device for those starting a college curriculum in graphic design or digital photography. It is easy to set up, and very easy to figure out. The pen is extraordinarily comfortable and heavy enough to feel like a real pen/pencil/brush depending on what you are used to. For me, the active area (light gray rectangle in the photo) is too small, but I am used to working on on paper sizes of at least 24x36. So there was some adaption time. The active area maps to any screen size easily. I use this device on a 12.1 inch widescreen (aspect ratio of 16:10) and a 19 inch screen (4:3) and it maps instantly.

The device is built very well. The tablet is very solid, the pen is as well. The mouse, however, is too light and incredibly square as well as being tied to the active area on the tablet. But as so many have said before, you aren't buying this for the mouse.

The price is the singular set back. It is not a cheap device but that is more than likely due to the included software. Mine came with Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 (Windows) and Photoshop Elements 4 (Mac) each being $80 or more retail. The software CD also has a striped version of Nik's Color Efex plug-ins for Photoshop. The problem with this software inclusion is that most people buying this product have the big-boy version of Adobe's Photoshop in some way. A software-free version of this hardware should be made available.

Either way, this is a fantastic peripheral.

What our customer's say!

"The Best ", What else can you say about Wacom tablets. They are the best. I already have the larger 6 x 8 tablet but needed a smaller one for taking around. The 4 x 6 inch works great but the older model, a smaller 4 x 5 inch would have been even more practical. It's much smaller and more packable. The tablet has a nice smooth curved edge on the bottom so it's comfortable to use.

"Not my best Wacom experience", I bought this with the intention of using the mouse daily and the pen with less frequency, and that's held true so far. I use it with my laptop at home, and I have an older Wacom tablet for my PC at work.

Mouse:
If I had tried out the mouse first, I would have passed on it. Its paint coating started to chip off the sides after about a month of use, but more importantly, I find it ergonomically awkward. The settings for its speed/acceleration seem to make a big jump from one setting to the next, so it always feels either sluggish or out of control. Even the fact that the tablet is so much thicker than the average mouse pad throws me off and my wrist always seems a bit tense.

Pen:
I wrote down my office tablet's settings and duplicated them. While there are bound to be differences since it is an older tablet, an older driver, and I'm moving from a PC to a Mac, the exact same settings feel alarmingly different from one tablet to the other. I had to do a lot of guessing and checking over weeks of working to approximate the same settings to which I was already accustomed.

Tablet:
Design-wise, this is gorgeous, and the downward slope on the front edge is a bit more comfortable than those I've used in the past. I thought that the programable hot buttons were a great addition until I started to use the tablet; my left hand is busy picking out keyboard shortcuts, and my right is drawing, so those buttons just fall by the wayside. I've spoken to one colleague who swears by them, but aside from that individual, my thoughts are usually echoed back to me: they seemed like such a great idea, but I just don't use them.

Overall:
I still think that Wacom makes great products, and I ordinarily have glowing experiences with them. I dislike the mouse. The pen is very comfortable, but it surprised me how much trouble I experienced migrating from one tablet to another.

"I love my Wacom", My pen pad works great, it is pressure sensitive when drawing which is awesome! The mouse that comes with it is only so-so but i can keep my regular old mouse plugged in for everyday use & reach for the pen when needed on the wacom! It takes some getting used to, i reccomend playing simple online arcade style games with it to get the feel for it!!

"i love the wacom", I bot this and loved it trust me get one you will love it two. The 4x6 is not to small it works out just fine.

"A great device, but it takes time to learn", I have a Windows XP system with two 19 inch monitors, one of which is a wide screen format. I also have a MacBook Pro with a 15 inch monitor. This device works wonderfully on both systems.

My biggest concern when purchasing was whether the 4x6 inch format would be big enough for my needs. Well, it is. I think anything bigger would be cumbersome because my hand would have to move much more in sensitive drawing configurations.

Having said that, this is not a particularly easy tool to master. It integrates with Adobe Illustrator perfectly, but the nature of the tools change when you go from a mouse to a tablet. Once mastered, I can see how this would speed up many drawing applications, but it takes a good deal of continuous practice to get it down.

And the mouse that comes with this thing is practically useless. The 4x6 pad is way too small for the mouse to do anything useful on a wide screen. The mouse is just too big for the pad, and the mouse you are already using will work much better. Not a big deal, though, because no one buys a pad like this for its mouse.

"I couldn't live without it!", I have had my Wacom Intuos 3 for three years now. I don't know how I ever lived without one. Once you get the hang of it you will never touch a mouse again. It makes any paint program a thrill to use. The eraser, is where it should be, on the top of the pen. It even has a nib with a little spring in it that mimics the feel of a brush.

Last year I had to learn Corel Draw. I had the need to vector images. Boy, does this help. I don't know how you can pull a node with a mouse. The black felt tip nib is great for this use.

Don't hesitate to buy this thing. I have the smallest size and I find it works great for me.

"The only worthwhile graphics tablet on the market.", This thing is incredible. The customizable/scrolling buttons are an extra plus, but the pressure sensitivity is the really impressive feature. It was an awkward adjustment at first, but now that I'm used to doing my graphics work with it, I couldn't live without it. Worth every penny, especially if you can catch it for around $200. Of course, the bigger the better!

"Great Product but", This is my first tablet and I cant believe that I used to do photoshop with a mouse!! It does take some getting used to, but once you burn into your head that the pad area is the equivilant as the screen dimensions then all is well. I purchased mine at best buy for a little less than here for $199 and part of why I purchased it is that on the box it says under the software included "Includes full editions of creative software:" and the listed software is photoshop elements 6.0 , Corel painter essentials 4.0 , Nik Color efex pro 3.0 and some wacom brushes. Now the problem I have with this statement is, and a big reason I bought it, that it says full editions. The Nik software is NOT a full edition and only includeds six filters that are really pretty worthless because if you know photoshop well it can do those things on its own. So if your excited about getting a full version of the Nik color efex 3.0 (the newest version) just figure on buying it for the tablet itself. The Corel paint software seems pretty cool but I havent really played with it yet. If your using this professionally you probably wont care about the software anyway because you will have everything already. I do want to state again that the hardware is great!!

"Review of Wacom Tablet", I am enjoying the above mentioned product and am slowing learning hoe to use it while fixing photos.Bamboo Fun (Small) Black Tablet with Pen, Mouse & Graphics Software

"Wacom Intuos3 4x6 Wide Format Pen Tablet ( PTZ431W ) ", I like it. It does occupy more desk space than the Pen Partner that it replaced. It matches the wide screen monitor I'm using.
