"Altec-Lansing versus Bose"
I compared the Bose Companion 3 ($500) to the Altec-Lansing FX4021 ($71 at Amazon) and was very surprised when the FX4021 sounded way, way better than the Bose. I used the speakers to enhance the sound from my girlfriend's TV. Wow, sounded great! Anyone who does not take the time to compare the two may be wasting their money.







"Replacing Altec Lansing"
I had an older model Altec Lansing which I replaced with this new one and
I am totally satisfied with the result. A great buy at under $100.
I recommend it to anyone who wants top quality sound from their computer.

"Good system with a few problems"
Yes like everyone else i like it.I do however have to say to my ears the midrange is a little weak like most of these units.The wireless remote is a joke.It looks like something right out of Toys are us.If you can get the battery compartment open without breaking the plastic put the battery on the slide and try to get in without jamming it.I finally got it in and it worked for maybe five minutes.I called Altec and they said this unit is no longer in production however they would send me another but they are back ordered.I also asked about the free wall mounts that they would ship me for 3.00 dollars.This offer was in the box.They were sorry but this promotion was no longer available.Thus the four stars maybe even three.One more thing Amazon is no longer backing up it's price guarantee for 30 days.So if the price changes next week too bad.Update 09-20-08 the wireless remote broke and they will not replace it.If i could change it to one star i would.

"Excellent System!!"
I just bought a 24" IMac and wanted some nice speakers. I looked on apple's site and realized I was going to spend at least $150. So I remembered that I had purchased Altec Lansing about 7 years ago and was very pleased. I then researched the different models on amazon. For $83 you can't beat it!! The highs are outstanding and the bass is superb!! My co-workers were impressed and jealous !! Trust me, you'll Love it !!

"Wow"
I got a bose with my fiance for $270 then challenged him to getting a much cheaper subwolfer speaker. Well as they say bose is always bose but in my opinoin this is the next to it. This Altec lansing is a very durable and sleek set of speakers and would recommend it to all.

"Great Sound", I was very pleased with the sound of these speakers. At times, I can rattle the windows.

The only downside is that it does not come with enough instructions on how to adjust the bass and treble. I found that quite confusing and I am a very knowledgeable pc user. It was worth the money spent.

Read this reviews before You buy...

"Very good - especially for the price", These speakers are a good value. Sound quality at lower volumes is excellent - crisp and clear. However, there is significant distortion and even breakup from the satellites when the volume is turned all the way up. Of course, it would be a bit much to expect perfect high fidelity from a product in the sub $100 price range.

"Good Value PC Speakers", I've had these speakers for about a month and they sound very good. You may be able to find better sounding speakers but you will have to pay much more. Bass sounds great and treble and midrange are clear with no distortion. I considered AL and Logitech and finally decided on Altec Lansing. In my view the quality is comparable as is the price.

"FX4021", These speakers are real sleepers. They sound much better than any speaker at the same price and better than many at twice the price, when they are used for what they are designed to do. The remote is a little tricky to get used to but does what it should. Altec's VS2321 is a junior version of these, no remote, and sound great as well.

"Pretty good sound", This set of speakers is great for a simple set up... While I'm wiring up the living room for surround sound, these are acting as our "2.1" channel setup - and it actually sounds pretty good...

I have the speakers just behind the tv which masquerades the visibilty, but still lets audio freely fall out - and people are always asking where my awesome sound is coming from. Wait till they hear my Onkyo setup :)

For 200 watts, it gets the job done; but don't expect to shake walls or anything. Although, I do hear it throughout our house which is not small by any means.

"FANTASTIC!!!", We just love the sound quality. We are using mostly for television video editing and it really fits the bill!!! The high's, mid's and low's are heard without any distortion at all. It's great!... not to mention the price!!!
