Others say...
"wireless up and running" I checked different stores for this compact wireless adapter ,they were they ran from $60 up to $85. not amazon.com tax shipping $34.00 got it in two days pluged it in and all set,no problems
"Good speed at a nice price" I'm not a big fan of wireless anything given the unknown dangers, but as wireless items go, this is one of the best. Setup was easy and with my current operating system, the computer recognized the usb network adapter with no trouble; however a quick call to Linksys was necessary to help me bypass the included software and allow Windows built-in utility to override certain settings. If you're having doubt as to which compact adapter to buy, do your research and you'll find that this one is one of the best out there currently plus the speedboost is a big bonus! I've had this item a few weeks and I'm satisfied so far.
"CRAPPY TECH SUPPORT - NOT WORTH THE HASSLE" I bought a little no name brand USB adapter on Amazon for 17.99 and it worked GREAT. Easy to install, great signal. I put it in the USB port on the front of my computer rather than the back and my kids got ahold of it and broke it. So I figured when I replaced it, I would order LInksys in order to have it be the same brand as the router. BIG MISTAKE. It took me 12 hours to set up the network. I have a Linksys wireless router and had a Nintendo Wii and Xbox 360 hooked up to it. Installing this little adapter to my PC knocked out the wireless to the Xbox and Wii. I contacted customer service via chat 4 TIMES. On the third time, the tech had me tweak something that knocked out my internet completely. I took my wireless system off and plugged directly to the cable and no internet. I had to call my Internet Provider to get that working and start over from scratch. I ended up figuring out how to adjust the WPA and WEP settings on my own (and I didn't have a clue what either of those things were when I set out to install this adapter.) Bottom line - this adapter is for people who know wireless networking like the back of their hand, who don't have anything else on their wireless network, or don't have anything else better to do with their time than chitchat with clueless customer service reps. Do yourself a favor and order the "Wireless G USB Adapater" by CP Technology for 17.99. It works well and was no hassle whatsoever to set up. This adapter works well now that I have it hooked up, but I have three small kids and it was not worth throwing away a day filled with frustration to get this piece of junk working.
"Great wireless adapter" This adapter is easy to use and provides fast, immediate access to our wireless router for my HP desktop. It is plug and play after the driver is installed.
"Didn't work at the beginning, but worked later on" The software (driver) seems to have some minor bugs during installation. But after all it works. The adapter at the beginning did not work, i.e., the speed is extremely slow. After a couple days, it worked fine with excellent speed on both XP and Vista OS (I tried on both). No idea the instability is due to hardware problem or driver problem. There is no perfect adapter with USP port. The best way is to have an internal adapter.

What our customer's say!
"Good product, terrible seller stay away!", Got a used product instead of new. They offerred to fix it (after posting a previous review). But all attempts to connect with the "project manager" were futile.
My recommendation is stick with Amazon and stay away from [........]
"VISTA beware--Not 32-bit compatible!", My low rating is due to the false information on the web page, namely the statement that "This product is Certified for Windows Vista." IT IS NOT certified for 64 bit VISTA systems. Pay attention to 32 bit vs 64 bit systems! I bought one of these a year ago for an XP system. Now I need the same for two new VISTA systems. I was hoping to be able to use this one and just buy one more. I researched carefully before buying a second one to see if this brand and model would work. Since I got conflicting information I even called Linksys. They too said YES, it was VISTA compatible. When trying to install I was led on a wild goose chase to find the correct driver online. Finally a second call to Syslink tech support confirmed that this adapter IS NOT compatible with 64 bit VISTA systems. Spare yourself the phone calls and the delays to get to the truth. Having disappointed two grandchildren with my "Surprise!", we are now waiting for another brand and model to come in.
"Frustrated", I purchased this Linksys Compact Wireless-G Network Adapter because my daughter broke off the plug-in part on the one I currently owned (that I previously purchased through a "big box store" 6 months earlier). The one I had worked decently anywhere in our home so instead of trying something new, I thought I would stick to what I knew worked. I WAS WRONG TO ASSUME THAT THIS WOULD WORK JUST AS MY PREVIOUS ONE HAD. I took it out of the box and plugged it in - it seemed to replace the other one with no problems... then I noticed that the new adapter can't pick up a signal... I moved all around the house for 3 days straight trying to get the signal with the new adapter. Uninstalled/Re-installed software... nothing. There are only two places in my 1,500sq ft home that this adapter can find our wireless router... and the signal is so weak I frequently lose connection. (Did I mention that I have to use the "extension cord" that is included because one of the places it works is in the center of my kitchen... so I have to hang it over a chair so I can set my laptop down on the nearby table.) I have no choice but to believe this is a quality control issue on the part of Linksys considering the volume of mixed reviews. The only reason this gets any stars is because my first one worked well.
"usb wireless-g", I'm a big fan of Linksys products. Currently I'm using this product with my desktop (ease of use). I'm currently using Fios as the ISP. The setup was extremely easy (as expected), but the range of the usb wireless-g was OK. If I had to do it over again, I would opted for a PCI card with an antena. I'm comparing my laptop built in wireless-g to the usb, and the difference in speed is remarkable. My desktop is a Quad core Q6700 as oppose to a T7250 dual core 2GHZ laptop.
"Great!", So easy to use and works great! Plan to buy a second one for another computer on our network!

Read this reviews before You buy...
"bought 2 one works the other doesn't", We bought one of these for a Sony Viao desktop that we were moving into the living room and one for a Sony laptop because it's wireless card stopped functioning. For the desktop, we had a few minor difficulties. The signal was so low that once I tried removing it from the rear of the PC to put in the front it wouldn't recognize it again. I had to uninstall the software and re-install to get it to work. No biggie, and it was a bit glitchy, but once it was set up it worked great. For the laptop...it has driven my husband to the brink of insanity. It won't recognize the unit, he tries to uninstall the software and it locks up and then he has to manually go in an find and delete the files. After no less than 5 tries he still can't get it to work, much less recognize the wireless network that is feet away. He ended up just giving up and buying CAT wire to plug directly into the modem, which of course defeats the purpose of wireless mobility, but at least he isn't packing his bags for the funny farm! So one worked great in the end, with some work, and the other didn't work no matter what. I installed the the working one and he wouldn't let me help with his, so maybe it is user error. So, all in all, if you get it installed and recognized right away, it is a great product. If you don't it will make you want to smash it with a hammer. So this may not be the best review, but it is honest.
"Value for price", This product is a very effective tool and an asset to systems without a wireless card.
"Works great and would (did) buy another one.", I am able to ping off my neighbor's router with the use of this simple extra product. Of course I have permission as we share net expense. Seems to work just fine for me and have no problems yet after several months' use. Love it!
"A Workhorse Wifi Adapter", I'll just start off by saying that my product broke, but it was likely my own fault. I think i accidentally crushed it, but one of the great things about buying from linksys is their support is great and i was sent a replacement right away. The warranty and support from linksys makes it worth it IMO.
I bought one of these in april 08 and it served its purpose well. I used it extensively in areas with weak signals, and the built-in transmitter in this thing was able to connect to routers of all brands and all signal strengths.
The speedbooster feature will only take effect if using a speedbooster router, but as for its effectiveness i cannot say, as i have never bothered getting that router.
I have downloaded many gigabytes of data with this, and the only issues ive had is that it takes some fidgeting to figure out how to acquire the best signal, despite it being omnidirectional. It can get quite warm if used for long periods.
Easy to install, although i wouldnt bother with the software they provide. If you have XP just use the built in wireless zero service.
"Vista-Compatible? Not really...", I tried for about an hour to install this on my Vista desktop, with no success. I followed every step of the included instructions, but could not get it to work.
Also, this device is not plug-and-play, a feature that I think every modern computer product should have. To be fair, however, other wireless network adapters do not have this feature, either.
