"Scanned thousands of photos pretty easily!"
I bought this scanner to scan all of my pre-digital photos. First it is REALLY easy to use. The quality is great. I did have some trouble with what looked like pixels on the scans but that was just in the scanner software. The scans in every other application were perfect. While it isn't the fastest scanner around. I could do at least 50 4X6 prints in 30 minutes at 600dpi. I also scanned some books, negatives, and slides. The books were fine, the negatives pretty good, but of course every little flaw is visible but the film never looked that good. BE SURE TO RECALIBRATE BEFORE SCANNING SLIDES OR NEGATIVES. Overall, well worth the money!

"Works Great! Easy to Use."
I've only had this scanner for a couple of weeks, but I have already used to scan dozens of photos, multi-color printed materials, and documents. I have saved to various image formats and PDF. No problems at all. The software is easy to install and relatively intuitive to use.

We purchased the 4400F a few weeks ago based on other positive reviews and an amazing price. My wife's enormous task of digitizing thousands of pictures (not negatives or slides) is very important to us. We were up and running in just a few minutes. Others have said the software wasn't the greatest, but we are very happy with just how much this scanner can improve the quality of the original. My wife is a computer novice, but had no problem finding great features such as multi-crop (to do several photos in one scan, resulting in seperate photo files). We haven't even checked out many of the included programs, so I'm sure it can do much more than what we really need it to do. We are very happy with the speed (several times quicker than our multi-function HP) and the quality at any price is amazing. Buy without hesitation. "Poor software"
The software for this scanner is for the birds. I,ve been trying for days to check out the features, but keep losing the image or can,t find it anywhere. Unlike my old visioneer where scanning is so easy and all the scanned image is in one place where it is easily found.

"A great buy...", This product is justifiably regarded as a best buy by Consumer Reports. As always, I found all of their observations and assessments to be correct. I bought this scanner to digitize a few thousand of my father's 35mm slides, many of them over 50 years old. The results exceeded my expectations. At four slides per scan, it took a few days, but I think I've already gotten my $90 worth. I opted for the free super saver shipping, was disappointed at the forecasted 14-day delivery date, but then pleasantly surprised when it came 5 working days later.

"Canon 4400F Scanner Review", The quality of the scan is excellent. The process is more complex than the HP scanner it replaced but the quality of the scan is worth is. Great value. Highly recommended.

"Mediocre scanner", This product is a good first scanner for a hobbyist who wants to begin scanning images into various projects. I can only give it three stars,however, because the attachment that permits scanning slides and negatives, which is of considerable importance to me, is poorly designed. This was my second scanner. The first was a second generation model from another manufacturer and it performed the slide/negative scanning in a far superior manner. There is a great price difference between the two products so perhaps I should have heeded the advice of other reviewers and opted for the more expensive model. If slide/negative scanning is not important to you, then I can say that the machine functions well and will prove to be a good value.

"scanner", The scanner is simple to use. It's much faster than our old scanner. I've been scanning some old pictures and now the new pictures look better than the originals

"Great value and film resolution", I like this a lot. I've been using an Epson Perfection 1670 and this beats it by a longshot. I especially like the (4) 35mm slide copying capability. The highest resolution takes a long time but the quality is very good. For the price I don't think you can beat it.

"Canon Cano scan", We love our new scanner. It's very easy to use, just push a button; and, you're finished!

"Recommended", I have a lot of old slides to scan. That is why I bought this scanner. The reviews I read in advance prior to purchasing the unit about the scanner's slide scanning features are consistent. Easy to use. Good bundled software. Recommended.

"A Real Bargain for Film Scanning", When my old combination document and film scanner broke, I needed a new one pronto, and not too expensive. This is to use for my web blog, where I insert hundreds of old photos. Some of these are prints, others color slides, and still others film negatives. The Canon 4400F does the job quite well, is easy to use, and presented no software problems. It installed instantly. I'm really pleased with this, especially as it was priced right, shipped free, and arrived in just a few days.
